Sokol was claimed off waivers by the Patriots on Wednesday, Chris Mason of MassLive.com reports.
Sokol signed a reserve/future contract with the Lions in January, but he ultimately was cut last Tuesday. The 26-year-old last played in the NFL with the Chargers in 2020, appearing in two games. He'll likely compete with the duo of 2020 third-round selections Devin Asiasi and Dalton Keene for a roster spot.

Raiders' Cole Fotheringham: Gets chance with Raiders
Fotheringham has signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent, Rachel Gossen of the team's official site reports.
Fotheringham recorded 15 receptions for 128 yards over eight games in his final season with Utah in 2021. The rookie tight end was the only player at his position signed in Las Vegas' class of undrafted free agents. He'll join a position group that currently features four veteran players, including Darren Waller, Foster Moreau, Jacob Hollister and Nick Bowers. Fotheringham likely will need to carve out a niche for himself as a blocking tight end this offseason.

Wolf (undisclosed) was waived with an injury designation Friday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
Wolf appeared in two games for the Saints last season, making two catches on two targets for eight yards before signing a reserve/future contract with them in January.

Jesper Horsted: Gets let go
Horsted (undisclosed) was waived from the reserve/PUP list with an injury settlement Friday, Doug Kyed of Pro Football Focus reports.
Horsted was waived Wednesday after a failed physical, then reverted to the PUP list after going unclaimed. Over the past three years, he's appeared in a total of 13 games for the Bears, catching 10 of 13 targets for 108 years and three touchdowns. He'll now look to get healthy and earn another shot within the NFL.

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Held out of rookie minicamp
Otton (ankle) won't participate in on-field work at rookie minicamp, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
The fourth-round pick out of Washington received medical clearance in April following season-ending surgery, but the Buccaneers will play it safe and keep him off the practice field for now. Otton currently falls somewhere behind Cameron Brate on the depth chart, and both players would move down a spot if Rob Gronkowski decides to return to Tampa Bay for another season.

Sokol had signed a reserve/future contract with the Lions in January, after spending 2021 on the Jaguars' and Chargers' practice squads. The former Michigan State product last saw game action in two games in 2020 for the Chargers but never tallied a target.

Pinkney (undisclosed) was waived by the Lions with an injury settlement Tuesday,
Pinkney finished the season with the Lions after spending time on the Rams' and Titans' practice squads last season. Appearing in two games for Detroit, Pinkney saw a total of 43 offensive snaps but never saw a target. The 24-year-old will work to earn a shot elsewhere for the upcoming season.

Brandon Dillon: Gets cut Tuesday
Dillon was waived by the Jets on Monday, Ethan Greenberg of the team's official site reports.
Dillon re-upped with the Jets in January on a reserve/future contract after joining the squad in December, which followed his departure from the Vikings. The 25-year-old had spent the better part of the last three seasons with Minnesota, appearing in a total of four games and earning one reception on one target for six yards in that time span.
