Ertz caught three of seven targets for 18 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 27-17 loss to Washington.

Ertz got off to a great start, punctuating his team's opening drive with a short touchdown. He finished tied for the team lead in targets but did little the rest of the way as a tough defensive unit clearly keyed in on him in the absence of some of the team's other offensive weapons. Still, it was a great sign for fantasy managers that Ertz found his way into the end zone, and he should be counted on for improved volume next Sunday against the Rams.

Njoku was forced out of Sunday's game against the Ravens with a knee injury, Andrew Gribble of the Browns' official site reports.

Prior to his exit, Njoku hauled in all three of his targets for 50 yards and a TD. Added tight end snaps behind Austin Hooper are now available for Harrison Bryant and Stephen Carlson.

Thompson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's season opener against the Raiders, Myles Simmons of the Panthers' official site reports.

With Thompson sitting out, Chris Manhertz will serve as the lone backup option behind starting tight end Ian Thomas. Fullback Alex Armah is capable of shifting over to tight end if the Panthers require another option at the position in an emergency.

Saubert (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game in Detroit.

One of five tight ends the Bears kept on the 53-man roster to begin the season, Saubert's status as a healthy inactive confirms he's the No. 5 option on the depth chart. Even if he moves up in the pecking order as the season unfolds, Saubert will likely be limited mostly to a blocking role.

Keene (neck) is inactive for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins.

With Keene out, fellow rookie Devin Asiasi and returnee Ryan Izzo will handle the team's Week 1 tight end duties. Of the two, Asiasi profiles as the better fantasy lineup dart in the Patriots' first game with Cam Newton at quarterback.

The Texans signed Fumagalli (abdomen) to their practice squad Saturday, Mike Klis of 9News Denver reports.

Fumagalli was waived with an injury settlement by Denver earlier in the week. It didn't take long for him to find a new home, and he should be able to participate in short order after undergoing a procedure to correct a bacterial infection in early September.

The Texans signed Brown to their practice squad Saturday, Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Brown entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2017 as an Oakland Raider. He was most recently with the Browns, who waived him at the end of training camp in 2020. He has two career receptions for 27 yards.

Dissly (Achilles) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game in Atlanta, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Making his way back from last year's Achilles tear, Dissly was added to the injury report Thursday as a limited participant, but he's apparently good to go for the season opener. It isn't clear he'll have a significant role on offense, considering the Seahawks gave Greg Olsen a one-year, $7 million contract this past offseason. That said, Dissly certainly looked like more than a role player prior to his season-ending injuries the past two years, producing 10.2 YPT and six touchdowns on 41 targets in 10 total games.

Keene (neck) is questionable for Sunday's game versus the Dolphins, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

Keene popped up on the injury report Thursday, and his status is in question for his NFL debut. The rookie third-rounder is listed as the No. 3 TE on New England's depth chart behind Ryan Izzo and fellow rookie Devin Asiasi, so he's worth keeping an eye on if he plays in this new-look offense.

Gesicki (glute) does not have an injury designation for Sunday's season opener against the Patriots, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Gesicki put forth a full practice Friday after having begun the week with two straight limited sessions. He's set to take the field against New England on Sunday and operate as Miami's top receiving tight end, with Durham Smythe primarily mixing in as a blocker.
