A.J. Derby TE | MIA
Dolphins' A.J. Derby: Not targeted in season opener
Derby played 46 of 62 offensive snaps but was held without a target during Sunday's win over the Titans.
Derby additionally played 12 snaps on special teams. Despite playing more than double the amount of snaps as rookie tight end Mike Gesicki, Derby did not account for a single target in the passing game. The 26-year-old will continue to see the majority of his usage as a blocker, and he should therefore remain on waivers in most fantasy formats.

Mike Gesicki TE | CIN
Dolphins' Mike Gesicki: Two targets Week 1
Gesicki caught one of two targets for 11 yards during Sunday's victory against the Titans.
As expected, Gesicki started the season behind fellow tight end AJ Derby. The second-round rookie saw only 21 offensive snaps compared to Derby's 46, although Derby was not targeted at all in the passing game. Gesicki's usage stands to increase as the season continues, but it remains to be seen whether the 22-year-old will see the target volume necessary to achieve fantasy relevance in his rookie season.

Gannon Sinclair TE | JAC
Gannon Sinclair: Waived with injury settlement
Sinclair (undisclosed) was waived by the Eagles on Monday.
Sinclair reached an injury settlement with the Eagles after being placed on IR with an undisclosed injury. Yet to take a regular-season snap in the NFL, Sinclair is now free to look for a depth role elsewhere in the league.

Gavin Escobar TE | BAL
Gavin Escobar: Let go by Miami
Escobar was released by the Dolphins on Monday, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.
Escobar re-signed with Miami after failing to make the 53-man roster, but he'll now return to the open market with the Dolphins needing to open up a roster spot for the signing of center Travis Swanson. Miami has just three healthy tight ends on the roster, with Mike Gesicki operating as the top pass-catching option within the unit.

MyCole Pruitt TE | PIT
Titans' MyCole Pruitt: Signed to Titans' roster
Pruitt was signed from the Texans practice squad to the Titans' active roster on Monday, Paul Kuharsky of 104.5 The Zone Nashville reports.
With star tight end Delanie Walker (ankle) placed on injured reserve Monday, the Titans will bring in Pruitt to shore up their depth at tight end for the time being. Pruitt likely won't have much of a role in Tennessee's offense unless another injury occurs.

Tyler Conklin TE | DET
Vikings' Tyler Conklin: One reception in season debut
Conklin had one reception for six yards on his only target in Sunday's win over the 49ers.
Conklin played just nine snaps on offense but went out for a pass on five of them, according to Pro Football Focus. He could have a larger role in the passing game if Kyle Rudolph gets hurt, but he'll otherwise will have a minimal role. Still, it's a good sign for the fifth-round 2018 draft pick's development that he was involved on offense this early in the season.

Jonnu Smith TE | PIT
Titans' Jonnu Smith: Should step into big role following Walker's injury
With Delanie Walker (ankle) not expected to play again this season, per Adam Schefter of ESPN, Smith's role in the Titans' passing attack is in line to expand in the coming weeks.
As a rookie last year, Smith logged 18 catches for 157 yards and two touchdowns, but with Walker out of the mix, the 2017 third-rounder is now in a position to see enough looks in the Tennessee passing game to merit immediate fantasy attention. Luke Stocker (two catches for 37 yards) actually outproduced Smith (one catch for 12 yards) in Week 1, but Walker saw seven targets Sunday before suffering his injury, and looking ahead, the bulk of the tight end looks that would typically go to him figure to go in Smith's direction.

Nick Vannett TE | SEA
Seahawks' Nick Vannett: Quiet despite ample playing time
Vannett played 35 of 57 snaps (61.4 percent) on offense in Sunday's 27-24 loss to Denver, catching one of two targets for 11 yards.
Rookie tight end Will Dissly stole the show with a 3-105-1 receiving line on five targets, making the most of his 33 snaps. Of course, it'll be tough for either tight end to maintain fantasy utility if the timeshare continues, and the Seahawks may eventually add Ed Dickson (quad, groin) into the mix after Week 6. Vannett draws a Week 2 matchup with the Bears on Monday Night Football.
-
Dwayne Allen TE | NE
Patriots' Dwayne Allen: Logs 23 snaps in Week 1
Allen logged 23 out of a possible 75 snaps on offense in Sunday's 27-20 win over the Texans.
Allen was not targeted in the game. Meanwhile, starting tight end Rob Gronkowski was on the field for all 75 snaps en route to hauling in seven passes for 123 yards and a TD. Allen is clearly off the fantasy radar as long as Gronkowski is healthy, but his blocking ability is valuable to the Patriots.

David Njoku TE | LAC
Browns' David Njoku: Logs heavy snap count
Njoku played 78 of 89 snaps (87.7 percent) in Sunday's 21-21 tie with Pittsburgh, catching three of seven targets for 13 yards.
Njoku limped off the field with an undisclosed injury at one point in the third quarter, but he made it back into the game and ultimately fell just shy of a 90 percent snap share. While the wealth of playing time was an encouraging sign, Njoku's struggles with holding onto the ball resurfaced as he dropped two of his seven targets in Sunday's game, per ESPN.com's Pat McManamon. Despite the unimpressive performance, Njoku should get another shot at an every-down role in a Week 2 road game against the Saints.
