Ryan O'Malley TE | NYG
Giants' Ryan O'Malley: Out with injury Friday
O'Malley (undisclosed) will not play in Friday's preseason game against the Lions.
O'Malley re-signed with the Giants on a one-year contract this offseason after appearing in one game for the club in 2017, He may be on the outside looking in regarding a 53-man roster spot out of camp, and an absence from preseason action doesn't help his cause.

Emanuel Byrd TE | GB
Packers' Emanuel Byrd: Hauls in two passes Thursday
Byrd posted two receptions for 27 yards in Thursday's preseason win over the Steelers.
Byrd is entering his second season with the Packers after appearing in just one game last season, when he posted two catches for 31 yards. The Packers have a solid core group of veteran tight ends on the roster, but Byrd could get a leg up on a roster spot if Green Bay decides they don't want to have Lance Kendricks' salary on the books for 2018.
-
Robert Tonyan TE | PIT
Packers' Robert Tonyan: Scores in preseason game
Tonyan caught three passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in Thursday's preseason win over the Steelers.
Tonyan hauled in all three of his targets and found pay dirt from one yard out. He is competing with Emanuel Byrd for the fourth spot on the depth chart at the tight end position, but with three veteran tight ends ahead of both players, it remains to be seen if either will make the cut.
-
Dwayne Allen TE | NE
Patriots' Dwayne Allen: Sits out Thursday's game
Allen (undisclosed) logged a "did not play" in Thursday's preseason game against the Eagles.
With Rob Gronkowski rested Thursday, Jacob Hollister drew the start at tight end for the Patriots. While it looks like Allen will stick around thanks to his blocking ability, he shouldn't necessarily be viewed as Gronkowski insurance. Hollister's pass-catching skills seem likely to land him a roster spot, and he'd probably step into a more productive role in the event that Gronkowski misses any time.

Jacob Hollister TE | CAR
Patriots' Jacob Hollister: Catches his only target Thursday
Hollister caught his only target for 22 yards in Thursday's 37-20 preseason win over the Eagles.
With Rob Gronkowski rested Thursday and Dwayne Allen (undisclosed) not playing, Hollister worked with the Patriots' starters. While Hollister isn't on the fantasy radar as long as Gronkowski is healthy, he does profile as more of a pass catcher than Allen. Assuming he secures a roster spot, as expected, Hollister could emerge as a deep sleeper based on his potential value as Gronkowski insurance.
-
Dallas Goedert TE | PHI
Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Goes for 57 yards
Goedert caught three of six targets for 57 yards in Thursday's preseason loss to the Patriots.
Goedert was unable to bring down a pair of throws in the end zone, but he was otherwise productive for a second straight week, leaving his preseason stat line at seven catches for 123 yards and a touchdown on 11 targets. He seems to have the No. 2 job at tight end locked down, putting him just one Zach Ertz injury away from seeing regular targets in what could be an excellent offense. There's also some opportunity for a larger-than-expected contribution early in the season, as the Eagles would be more inclined to use two-TE sets if Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) isn't available.
-
Eric Tomlinson TE | LAC
Jets' Eric Tomlinson: Catches two-yard pass
Tomlinson caught one of two targets for two yards in Thursday's 15-13 preseason loss to Washington.
Primarily used as a run blocker, Tomlinson is nearly guaranteed a roster spot in New York. His role isn't very fantasy-friendly, however.
-
Marcedes Lewis TE | DEN
Packers' Marcedes Lewis: Catches first pass with new team
Lewis caught one pass for 23 yards in Thursday's preseason game.
Lewis did not record any statistics in the Packers' preseason opener, but he was able to haul in his lone target Thursday and notch his first reception since signing with Green Bay. Lewis had his most productive season since 2013 a year ago, but it will be tough for him to match that production while serving as a backup behind top tight end Jimmy Graham.
-
Jimmy Graham TE | NO
Packers' Jimmy Graham: Scores on only catch Thursday
Graham (knee) brought in his only target for an eight-yard touchdown in the Packers' 51-34 preseason win over the Steelers on Thursday.
Graham's official Packers debut was brief but rewarding. He gave the Lambeau faithful ample reason for preseason celebration courtesy of an eight-yard scoring connection with Aaron Rodgers in the first quarter, extending the Packers' early lead to 13-0 at the time. The multi-time Pro Bowler projects as one of Rodgers' top targets in the coming season, and he'll look to continue building chemistry with the quarterback against the Raiders a week from Friday in Green Bay's "dress rehearsal" game.
