Nick Vannett TE | SEA
Seahawks' Nick Vannett: Totals 124 receiving yards
Vannett had 12 receptions on 15 targets for 124 yards and a touchdown in 15 games for the Seahawks in 2017.
Vannett began and finished the season as Seattle's No. 3 tight end behind Jimmy Graham and Luke Willson, but ended the year with similar numbers to Willson, who had 15 receptions for 153 yards. The 24-year-old increased his production from his rookie season last year, and will aim to take a similar step forward in his third year..

Logan Paulsen TE | HOU
49ers' Logan Paulsen: Not involved offensively
Paulsen played in 14 games for the 49ers but did not record a reception despite logging 147 offensive snaps.
The veteran tight end is known for his blocking prowess, and that is exactly how head coach Kyle Shanahan deployed his third tight end for the majority of the year. He was cut and re-sign a couple of times, but that's just the nature of how one of the last men on the 53-man roster gets treated in the NFL. The 30-year-old is an unrestricted free agent this offseason, but his previous history with Shanahan back in Washington could see the blocking tight end re-signed for a similar, non-fantasy relevant role.
-
Johnny Mundt TE | PHI
Rams' Johnny Mundt: Sticks with Los Angeles
Mundt signed a reserve/future contract with the Rams on Monday.
Mundt spent the 2017 season on the Rams' practice squad, except for a brief stint on the 53-man roster in November. The 2017 undrafted rookie was returning from a knee injury as the season began, but should be able to take advantage of the Rams' offseason training program in 2018.
-
Gerald Everett TE | CHI
Rams' Gerald Everett: Plays just 21 snaps in loss to Falcons
Everett played just 21 of 68 offensive snaps and caught one of two targets for only four yards during Saturday's 26-13 loss to Atlanta in the wild-card round.
While the 2017 second-round pick played sparingly all season, he flashed enough in limited action to project a promising future over the coming years. Everett finished the regular season with 16 receptions for 244 yards (15.3 yards per catch) and two touchdowns, including two catches for over 40 yards. His athleticism and big-play potential will likely be more integrated into head coach Sean McVay's offense in 2018, but with Tyler Higbee also in the mix, Everett might still struggle to be a reliable fantasy asset, week in and week out. Additionally, it wouldn't be surprising if it took another year or two for Everett to better acclimatized to the NFL before he has a true breakout campaign.
-
Tyler Higbee TE | LAR
Rams' Tyler Higbee: Score overturned in wild-card loss
Higbee caught one of his two targets for just 11 yards during Saturday's 26-13 loss to Atlanta in the wild-card round. He did have a five-yard touchdown reversed by replay with 2:16 remaining in the game.
The tight end clearly didn't complete the catch in the end zone, which was an unfortunate break for the Rams, as one play later they turned the ball over on downs and realistically sunk any chance of a comeback. Higbee took a sizable step forward in his second season with 25 receptions, 295 yards and a touchdown, including five catches for over 20 yards. However, those numbers hardly tilt the fantasy scales in most settings, and rookie Gerald Everett projects to be more involved in the passing attack in 2018, which will further cap Higbee's already limited upside and appeal.
-
Austin Hooper TE | ATL
Falcons' Austin Hooper: Catches three passes in playoff win
Hooper caught three balls on five targets for 15 yards in Saturday's 26-13 playoff win over the Rams.
Hooper has had between two and three receptions in each of his last seven games, so you know what to expect from him. He hasn't caught a touchdown pass in any of those games, either, so temper your expectations in the divisional round against the Eagles.
-
Travis Kelce TE | KC
Chiefs' Travis Kelce: 'Seems good' in aftermath of concussion
Head coach Andy Reid said Kelce (concussion) "probably would have been alright for the upcoming week" had the Chiefs advanced past the wild-card round of the playoffs.
Kelce was noticeably wobbly after absorbing a helmet-to-helmet hit during Saturday's loss to the Titans. Reids' comments suggest the tight end isn't experiencing any significant side effects in the aftermath of the injury. Under contract with the Chiefs through 2021, Kelce should be operating at full speed when OTAs commence in late April.
-
Jonnu Smith TE | PIT
Titans' Jonnu Smith: Key third-down conversion in playoff win
Smith caught two of four targets for 15 yards in Saturday's 22-21 wild-card round win over Kansas City.
Two plays before Eric Decker caught the go-ahead touchdown, Smith made a pivotal, 10-yard catch on 3rd-and-2. The rookie tight end hasn't moved the needle much in fantasy circles this season, but he's quietly turning into a solid all-around player.
-
Troy Niklas TE | TB
Cardinals' Troy Niklas: Makes 15 appearances in 2017
Niklas posted 11 receptions (on 23 targets) for 132 yards and one touchdown in 15 games during the 2017 season.
Selected in the second round of the 2014 draft, Niklas has been snake-bitten throughout four years in the NFL, almost entirely on the injury front. Entering this season, he was active in just 26 of a possible 48 games, but relative health (for him) resulted in 15 more appearances in 2017. Niklas rarely made an impact as a pass catcher, though, so whoever heads the new coaching staff may decide to move on, especially with tight ends Jermaine Gresham and Ricky Seals-Jones, a 2017 undrafted rookie, under contract through at least the upcoming campaign.
-
C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI
Bengals' C.J. Uzomah: One catch in season finale
Uzomah had one catch for seven yards on two targets in the Bengals' season finale win over the Ravens.
Uzomah had six of his 10 catches over the last three games, including his single touchdown reception. Tyler Eifert will be back, at least for a little while, next season so Uzomah will revert back to the third tight end on the team.
