  • Jesse James TE | LV

Steelers' Jesse James: Four catches Sunday

James (ankle) totaled 27 yards on four receptions in Sunday's win over the Vikings.

The third-year tight end followed what was arguably the best game of his short career last week with a disappointing performance, although he made the most of his limited opportunities. James caught 4-of-5 targets despite having a noticeable limp after Pittsburgh's first offensive series. Check on his status in practice next week before inserting him in your Week 3 lineup against Chicago.

  • Gerald Everett TE | CHI

Rams' Gerald Everett: Hauls in three passes for 95 yards

Everett caught all three of his targets for 95 yards during Sunday's overtime loss to Washington.

Quarterback Jared Goff found Everett for a game-high, 69-yard reception when Washington lost track of the rookie down the sideline. Everett owns the athleticism to be a solid fantasy asset in the future, and Sunday's showing highlights his upside. However, Goff has spread the ball around through the first two weeks of the season, and sophomore tight end Tyler Higbee will also be involved in the passing game. Everett is best viewed as a weekly boom-or-bust flier, and he probably shouldn't be relied on at this point in many settings.

  • Jimmy Graham TE | NO

Seahawks' Jimmy Graham: Bangs knee in no-show performance

Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said Graham banged his knee during Sunday's 12-9 win over the 49ers, Liz Matthews of USA Today reports.

Graham wasn't out of the game for long, yet finished with just one catch for one yard on two targets. While there should be better days ahead, it's concerning that he's been a complete non-factor through two games while playing in an offense that's produced only 21 points. The knee injury doesn't seem serious, but he could still end up on the injury report ahead of a Week 3 contest in Tennessee.

  • Zach Ertz TE | WAS

Eagles' Zach Ertz: Finds end zone in loss to Chiefs

Ertz caught five of 10 targets for 97 yards in Sunday's 27-20 loss to the Chiefs.

Ertz led the team in receiving yardage on the day, thanks in large part to a fortuitous 53-yard reception, and he finished second in targets. He has failed to reach the end zone through two weeks, but he has still produced a tremendous 190 yards receiving while hauling in 13 catches. Ertz and Carson Wentz established an excellent rapport late last season and that clearly looks to have carried over into 2017. He will look to continue a successful start to the season next week against the Giants.

  • David Njoku TE | LAC

Browns' David Njoku: Scores first career touchdown

Njoku hauled in three of four targets for 27 yards and a touchdown during Sunday's 24-10 loss to the Ravens.

Kevin Hogan found Njoku on a 23-yard touchdown connection for the team's only end-zone trip of the day, as the tight end secured his first NFL touchdown in his second career game. Njoku and Seth DeValve are the team's top two pass-catching tight ends, but expect the rookie to continue to see more and more opportunities as his knowledge of the offense expands and his blocking abilities improve.

  • Travis Kelce TE | KC

Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Gets back on track against Philly

Kelce nabbed eight of 10 targets for 103 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-20 win over Philadelphia.

The Andy Reid Bowl was looking like a decidedly defensive affair until Kansas City turned Carson Wentz over, setting up a 15-yard catch-and-run shovel pass from Alex Smith to Kelce - ending in an emphatic dive into the end zone. Kelce was left mostly in the cold -- tallying just 44 yards -- in the Chiefs' offensive explosion to start the season. Sunday provided a reminder that Kelce, who also chipped in Kansas City's longest passing play of the day for 44 yards, is still the most dependable target Smith has at his disposal, considering the wide receiver corps lacks a true prototype No. 1 threat.

  • Sean McGrath TE | DET

Chargers' Sean McGrath: Gearing up Sunday

McGrath (knee) is listed as active for Sunday's matchup with the Dolphins.

McGrath was a full participant in the week prior, so it was expected that he would make his season debut Sunday. Still, it's unlikely McGrath collects many snaps behind Hunter Henry and Antonio Gates on the depth chart.

  • Taysom Hill QB | NO

Saints' Taysom Hill: Inactive in Week 2

Hill (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 2 tilt versus the Patriots, John DeShazier of the team's official site reports.

Hill is expected to retain this same status throughout the season, barring an injury to either Drew Brees or backup Chase Daniel.

  • Troy Niklas TE | TB

    Cardinals' Troy Niklas: Active Sunday

Niklas (hip) is active for Sunday's contest at Indianapolis, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Limited in practice all week, Niklas will brush off a hip issue, but he won't enter the starting lineup in place of the absent Jermaine Gresham (ribs). Instead, No. 3 tight end Ifeanyi Momah will earn the start, which could forecast limited snaps for Niklas.

  • Jesse James TE | LV

Steelers' Jesse James: Could see large role Week 2

James, who logged 54 of a possible 60 offensive snaps in Week 1, is slated to serve as the primary tight end Week 2 against Minnesota, as Vance McDonald (back) is listed as inactive.

James was one of Week 1's top fantasy tight ends, as he hauled in six of eight targets for 41 yards and two scores -- the second of which was a screen play designed for him in the red zone. He was able to log a big performance despite the presence of McDonald, who was also on the field for 18 offensive snaps in the opener. With McDonald now on the shelf, the only other tight end on the active roster is Xavier Grimble, who saw just one offensive snap in Week 1. Repeating last week's production might be a tough ask for James, though he'll certainly have the opportunity to do so. He draws a tough Minnesota defense, though the Vikings did give up 54 yards and a touchdown to Saints tight end Coby Fleener in their opener.
