Juwan Johnson TE | NO
Saints' Juwan Johnson: Makes impact again in Week 2
Johnson caught five of nine targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 26-21 loss to the 49ers.
For the second straight game Johnson saw impressive volume, finishing second on the Saints in targets behind Chris Olave's 10, and this time the tight end was able to turn one of them into a score as he caught an 18-yard strike from Spencer Rattler inside the final two minutes of the first half. Johnson saw only 66 targets in 17 regular-season games in 2024, but he's already gotten 21 in the first two games of the current campaign, leading to a 13-125-1 line. He could be headed for another big effort in Week 3 against a Seahawks defense that gave up two TDs to San Francisco TEs -- George Kittle (hamstring) and Jake Tonges -- in its opener before allowing a combined 7-58-0 line on eight targets to Steelers tight ends Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth in Week 2.

Will Mallory TE | IND
Colts' Will Mallory: Healthy scratch Week 2
Mallory (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Mallory will be a healthy scratch for a second straight week, and his next chance to play is Week 3 against the Titans on Sunday, Sept. 21. Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree will serve as the Colts' backup tight ends behind rookie first-rounder Tyler Warren.

Shane Zylstra TE | DET
Lions' Shane Zylstra: Will not return Sunday
Zylstra (ankle) is out for the remainder of Sunday's game against the Bears.
The tight end did not record a stat before exiting earlier in the first half. Detroit still has two tight ends, Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright, ahead of Zylstra on the depth chart.

Shane Zylstra TE | DET
Lions' Shane Zylstra: Questionable to return Sunday
Zylstra (ankle) is questionable to return to Sunday's game against the Bears.
The tight end did not record a stat before exiting. Zylstra played on 10 special-teams snaps and six offensive snaps in Week 1. He is listed as Detroit's third tight end behind Sam LaPorta and Brock Wright.

Jelani Woods TE | NYJ
Jets' Jelani Woods: Healthy scratch again
Woods (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Bills, Randy Lange of the Jets' official site reports.
Woods was claimed off waivers by the Jets in late August after failing to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the end of training camp. However, he will be in street clothes as a healthy inactive for a second consecutive week, and his next opportunity to make his Jets debut is Week 3 against the Buccaneers on Sunday, Sept. 21. Mason Taylor was able to shake off an ankle injury to be cleared to play and will serve as the Jets' starting tight end while Jeremy Ruckert and Stone Smartt serve as the backups.

Colby Parkinson TE | LAR
Rams' Colby Parkinson: Won't play against Tennessee
Parkinson (shoulder) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Titans.
Parkinson sprained the AC joint in his shoulder in the first half of the Rams' Week 1 win over the Texans. The injury prevented the 2020 fourth-rounder from practicing all week, and he will observe Sunday's game in street clothes while Davis Allen and Terrance Ferguson serve in depth roles at tight end behind Tyler Higbee. Parkinson's next chance to play is Week 3 against the Eagles on Sunday, Sept. 21.

Mason Taylor TE | NYJ
Jets' Mason Taylor: Active for Week 2
Taylor (ankle) is listed as active for Sunday's game against the Bills.
After not practicing Wednesday, Taylor was limited Thursday and then worked fully Friday before heading into the weekend listed as questionable. With his Week 2 availability confirmed, the rookie second-rounder -- who recorded an 88 percent snap share in his regular season debut versus Pittsburgh last Sunday - profiles as a hit-or-miss fantasy option for now after recording just one catch (on his only target) for 20 yards against the Steelers while working in tandem with Jeremy Ruckert (45 percent snap share, two targets).

Mason Taylor TE | NYJ
Jets' Mason Taylor: On track to play Sunday
Taylor (ankle) remains listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bills but is expected to play, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
After opening Week 2 prep as a non-participant Wednesday, Taylor practiced in a limited fashion Thursday and then took every rep at Friday's session, clearing up most of the lingering concern about his health heading into the weekend. Assuming the rookie tight end is formally cleared ahead of Sunday's 1 p.m. ET kickoff, he should continue to play heavy snaps Week 2. Despite garnering an 88 percent snap share in the Jets' 34-32 loss to the Steelers in the season opener, Taylor didn't make much of an imprint in the box score, finishing with one catch for 20 yards on one target.

Brayden Willis TE | SF
49ers' Brayden Willis: Back with active roster
Willis was elevated from the 49ers' practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
The 2023 seventh-round pick from Oklahoma remained with San Francisco's practice squad after missing the active roster in late August, and he'll likely suit up for the first time this season Sunday. With George Kittle (hamstring) sidelined for the next four games at least, Willis could remain with the 49ers' active roster for the foreseeable future and serve as the No. 3 tight end.

Josiah Deguara TE | ARI
Cardinals' Josiah Deguara: Joins active roster
Deguara was elevated from the Cardinals' practice squad to the active roster Saturday.
Deguara signed with Arizona's practice squad after failing to make the initial 53-man roster in late August, but he's now set to join the active roster ahead of Sunday's matchup against the Panthers. The Cincinnati product will provide the Cardinals with additional tight end depth due to Tip Reiman (foot) being sidelined in Week 2.
