Zach Ertz TE | WAS
Commanders' Zach Ertz: Cleared to play Sunday
Ertz (concussion) is active for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
Just as head coach Dan Quinn suggested would be the case earlier Sunday, Ertz is good to go for a matchup with one of his former squads after he made rapid progress in his recovery from the concussion he sustained just one week earlier in a win over the Saints. Ertz sat out the Commanders' first Week 16 practice before upgrading to limited activity Thursday and Friday. He then received clearance from an independent neurologist at some point over the weekend and exited the NFL's concussion protocol. Despite the limited practice activity leading up to Sunday, Ertz is expected to fill his usual role as the Commanders' top tight end, and he shouldn't face any restrictions with his snap count.

Tyler Higbee TE | LAR
Rams' Tyler Higbee: Should have limited role in debut
Higbee (knee/illness) will make his season debut Sunday against the Jets and is expected to handle about 20-to-25 snaps, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Though an illness prevented Higbee from practicing Thursday, he didn't experience any hiccups with his surgically repaired right knee and headed into the weekend without a designation after returning to practice Friday as a full participant. The absence Thursday marked the only time in the past three weeks of prep that Higbee wasn't listed as a full participant, but the Rams are still aiming to ease the tight end back into the mix Sunday in what will be his first game action since tearing the ACL and MCL in his knee in a Jan. 14 playoff loss to the Lions. While Higbee should start in Week 16, he'll likely be part of a committee at tight end that will likely include Colby Parkinson and Hunter Long, and possibly even Davis Allen (if active) as a fourth option at the position.

Zach Ertz TE | WAS
Commanders' Zach Ertz: Good to go, per coach
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn said that Ertz (concussion) -- who remains listed as questionable -- will play in Sunday's game against the Eagles, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.
Quinn's comments confirm that Ertz has cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol just one week after suffering the head injury in last Sunday's 20-19 win over the Saints. Ertz will have his questionable designation officially removed when Washington posts its inactive list 90 minutes ahead of the 1 p.m. ET kickoff. Despite not taking any contact this week as a limited practice participant Thursday and Friday, Ertz should settle back in as Washington's clear No. 1 tight end and likely won't face any major restrictions in terms of his snap count. Through 14 appearances on the season, Ertz has put together a 54-526-4 line on 77 targets.

Zach Ertz TE | WAS
Commanders' Zach Ertz: Likely to be cleared for Sunday
Ertz (concussion/shoulder) remains listed as questionable but is expected to play Sunday versus the Eagles, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Ertz sustained a concussion during the Commanders' Week 15 win over the Saints, and he was a non-participant or limited participant while taking no contact in any of the Commanders' three practices this week. Despite the lack of full activity this week, Ertz is still expected to gain clearance from an independent neurologist and clear the five-step protocol. Ertz won't be formally cleared until Washington releases its inactive list 90 minutes prior to the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but assuming he's good to go, he should handle his usual duties as the Commanders' top tight end.

Pat Freiermuth TE | PIT
Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Quiet in loss to Baltimore
Freiermuth recorded three receptions on three targets for 16 yards in Saturday's 34-17 loss to the Ravens.
Freiermuth had either topped 50 receiving yards or scored a touchdown in four straight games, though his momentum was halted in Saturday's loss. His longest gain went for just seven yards, and two of his catches came with Pittsburgh down multiple scores in the fourth quarter. Freiermuth should be more involved in Week 17 against the Chiefs, though his ability to rack up stats remains inconsistent.

Isaiah Likely TE | BAL
Ravens' Isaiah Likely: Finds end zone in win
Likely caught all three of his targets for 29 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 34-17 win over the Steelers.
Both Ravens tight ends got into the end zone Saturday, with Likely opening the scoring in the first quarter with a nine-yard reception. The third-year player set new career highs in receptions (38) and receiving yards (430) with the performance, and his five TDs on the season ties the career high he set in 2023. Likely hasn't reached 40 yards in four straight games however, making him a TD-dependent fantasy option in a Week 17 matchup against the Texans.
-
Mark Andrews TE | BAL
Ravens' Mark Andrews: TD streak at four games
Andrews caught four of six targets for 37 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 34-17 win over the Steelers. He also gained one rushing yard on his only carry.
The tight end got into the end zone for the fourth straight game on a seven-yard toss from Lamar Jackson that put the Ravens in the lead for good. Andrews has a 17-172-4 line on 20 targets over his TD streak, and he sits one score short of tying the career-high 10 touchdowns he recorded in 2019. Andrews will look for score No. 10 in Week 17 against the Texans.

Nick Muse TE | MIN
Vikings' Nick Muse: Elevated for Week 16
The Vikings elevated Muse from the practice squad Saturday.
The 26-year-old tight end has appeared in four games for Minnesota this season, logging 17 offensive snaps and another 47 on special teams. He's yet to draw a target in the passing game and slots in as the Vikings' TE4 behind T.J. Hockenson, Josh Oliver and Johnny Mundt.
-
Dalton Schultz TE | HOU
Texans' Dalton Schultz: Scores TD in Saturday's loss
Schultz caught five of eight targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 27-19 loss to the Chiefs.
Schultz finished second on the team in targets behind Nico Collins (10), and Schultz will likely work as the team's second option in the passing game moving forward, as wide receiver Tank Dell exited due to a serious knee injury. The tight end scored his second touchdown of the season on a 10-yard catch in the second quarter. Both of those scores have come in the last three games after Schultz started the season on a 12-game touchdown drought. Schultz's arrow is pointing up ahead of a Christmas matchup with the Ravens.

Travis Kelce TE | KC
Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Slump continues in Week 16 win
Kelce caught five of seven targets for 30 yards in Saturday's 27-19 win over the Texans.
Kelce had 15 receiving yards in each half. His touchdown drought now sits at six games, and Kelce has 45 or fewer receiving yards in each of his last three outings. The slumping tight end won't have to wait long to try to get back on track, as the Chiefs will be right back in action Wednesday against the Steelers for a Christmas Day matinee.
