Stoll has been sidelined with a concussion, Dan Duggan of The Athletic reports.

Stoll will be sidelined until he can clear the league's concussion protocol. After spending his first three seasons in Philadelphia, he is looking for a fresh start in New York as a depth tight end. A return to training camp sooner than later would be beneficial for him toward securing a spot on the 53-man roster.

Thomas (calf) has suffered a calf injury but is hopeful to be ready for Week 1, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Thomas is currently projected as the third tight end on Carolina's roster behind Tommy Tremble and Ja'Tavion Sanders. Thus, a return to training camp prior to Week 1 would be beneficial for the veteran tight end's aim toward securing a spot on the team's 53-man roster. Still, the 28-year-old has been with the team since 2018 and figures to be more likely than not to make the squad. Thus, expect Carolina to err on the side of caution in regard to bringing him back to practice too early.

Horsted was released by the Saints on Saturday, John Hendrix of SI.com reprts.

Horsted inked a deal with New Orleans during OTAs, but he was ultimately unable to show enough to secure a longer stint. His 2023 campaign ended with him on the Raiders' injured reserve due to a hamstring injury. He has seemingly moved on from the injury and will now look for a new landing spot.

The Eagles waived/injured Castles on Saturday due to an undisclosed injury.

It is not clear what injury Castles is dealing with as of now. Prior to the injury, he was competing for a depth tight end role on Philadelphia's roster. Assuming the Tennessee product does not get claimed off waivers, he will likely revert back to the Eagles' injured reserve.

The Panthers waived/injured Hodges on Saturday due to an undisclosed injury, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

It is unclear what injury Hodges is dealing with at this time. If he ultimately goes unclaimed on waivers, the tight end will subsequently revert to Carolina's injured reserve. From there, his season will come to a premature end unless both he and the team can come to terms on an injury settlement once his health is back up to par.

Stover should see more snaps in preseason games due to Teagan Quitoriano (calf) being expected to miss at least a few weeks.

Quitoriano suffered a strained calf during Thursday's preseason game against Chicago, which clears the way for Stover to emerge as the team's third tight end. Stover caught two of three targets for 26 yards Thursday.

Njoku and quarterback Deshaun Watson showed off a developing connection during this week of practice, Zac Jackson of The Athletic reports.

That connection became most notable Thursday, the Browns' first competitive practice with offense vs. defense in full pads. The tight end used his size to snare a couple of targets, beating Grant Delpit and Juan Thornhill in one-on-one coverage. Njoku appears to be operating with confidence following a breakout 2023 campaign, which really kicked into high gear over the second half when Watson was out with a shoulder injury. If the Watson-to-Njoku combination continues to develop, the Browns could make a deeper run in the playoffs.

The Saints signed Fairchild to a contract Friday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Fairchild went undrafted in April after averaging 31 catches for 447 yards over his final two college seasons with Kansas. The 6-foot-5 tight end will now have a chance to show off his skill set in training camp as he attempts to make the 53-man roster in a depth role. The Saints also signed veteran tight end Kevin Rader on Friday.

Spivey was signed as an undrafted free agent by Kansas City on Friday with tight end Izaiah Gathings being waived, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Spivey failed to get selected in the 2024 NFL Draft after only practicing with Mississippi State in 2023 due to his transfer waiver being denied with the NCAA. The 6-foot-5 tight-end will compete for a reserve tight end spot with the Chiefs after logging 11 receptions for 136 yards and one touchdown in his final season (2022) with TCU.
