  • Gerald Everett TE | CHI

Chargers' Gerald Everett: Misses practice with illness

Everett didn't practice Wednesday due to an illness.

Everett has two more chances to practice ahead of Sunday's game against the Raiders, but the tight end's status is now worth monitoring after the missed session. In the Chargers' 28-24 win over the Vikings this past weekend, Everett caught all six of his targets for 30 yards.

  • Foster Moreau TE | HOU

Saints' Foster Moreau: Remains sidelined at practice

Moreau (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Moreau closed out last week with a limited practice before being ruled out ahead of Sunday's loss to the Packers, so his lack of activity Wednesday seems to be a step in the wrong direction. In any case, Moreau will have two more chances to practice this week before the Saints potentially give him an injury designation for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers.

  • Irv Smith TE | HOU

Bengals' Irv Smith: Listed as non-participant Wednesday

Smith (hamstring) was listed as a non-participant on Wednesday's estimated practice report, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.

Smith was inactive for the Bengals' Week 3 win over the Rams, and his listed non-participation to begin Week 4 prep clouds his status for Sunday's game against the Titans. If Smith remains out this weekend, Drew Sample and Mitchell Wilcox would once again absorb most of the snaps at tight end.

  • Durham Smythe TE | BAL

Dolphins' Durham Smythe: Limited to begin week

Smythe was listed as limited participant at Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Likely as a result of the hamstring issue along with the fact that the Dolphins rolled to a 70-20 win over the Broncos, Smythe was limited to playing 37 percent of the offensive snaps. He had played 100 and 97 percent of the snaps in the Dolphins' first two games, taking on one of the largest snap shares of any tight end in the league during that span. Smythe will have two more opportunities to achieve full participation in practice before Sunday's showdown against Buffalo. Should Smythe sit out Sunday, more snaps could go to Tyler Kroft (back) or Julian Hill at tight end.

  • Logan Thomas TE | SF

Commanders' Logan Thomas: Expects to play this week

Thomas (concussion) was a limited practice participant Wednesday and said afterward that he expects to play in Sunday's game against Philadelphia, Sam Fortier of The Washington Post reports.

Thomas missed last Sunday's 37-3 loss to Buffalo, leaving Cole Turner and John Bates in a timeshare at tight end. Bates should still have a role as a blocker if Thomas is back for Week 4, while Turner's usefulness would be minimized with the return of a more experienced receiving-minded tight end. Thomas drew 11 targets through the first six quarters of play this season before suffering a concussion Week 2.

  • Noah Gray TE | KC

Chiefs' Noah Gray: Dealing with illness

Gray (illness) will not practice Wednesday, Matt Derrick of ChiefsDigest.com reports.

Gray still has a few days to recover before the team's Week 4 contest with the Jets, but he is currently questionable for the game. If he's unable to play, Blake Bell would likely need to step into a larger workload, while the Chiefs may need to elevate Matt Bushman from the practice squad.

  • Lions' Darrell Daniels: Promoted to active roster

The Lions signed Daniels to their 53-man roster Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Daniels received a promotion from the practice squad in the wake of fullback Jason Cabinda (knee) dropping from a limited participant in Monday's practice to no participation Tuesday. After logging over 100 snaps in the backfield during his time in Arizona between 2021 and 2022, Daniels could be a replacement for Cabinda during Thursday's matchup with Green Bay.

  • Dalton Kincaid TE | BUF

Bills' Dalton Kincaid: Catches two passes in win

Kincaid secured both of his targets for three yards in Sunday's 37-3 win over the Commanders.

Kincaid played 35 of the Bills' 68 offensive snaps Sunday, while veteran tight end Dawson Knox handled 41 snaps. The rookie's two targets were his fewest in a contest so far in his young career, and he has yet to find the end zone through three games. With that said, Kincaid has shown chemistry with Josh Allen, which should continue to grow. In addition, Buffalo's use of 12-personnel on offense is affording the 23-year-old the opportunity to line up as a wide receiver at times while Knox handles in-line tight end duties. Kincaid will look to bounce back in what could be a shootout between the Bills and Dolphins in Week 4.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Quiet in win

Knox secured one of his two targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 37-3 win over the Commanders.

Despite the Bills winning in a blowout over the Commanders, Knox wasn't a significant part of the offensive game plan Sunday. The 26-year-old and fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid both saw two targets in the contest, yet Knox saw the field slightly more, handling 41 snaps to Kincaid's 35 snaps. Going forward, Knox's fantasy utility for most weeks looks as though it'll hinge on him finding the end zone, as his usage in short areas of the field along with the timeshare with Kincaid limit his ability to rack up both receptions and yardage.

  • Tanner Hudson TE | CIN

Bengals' Tanner Hudson: Reverts to Bengals' practice squad

Hudson reverted to Cincinnati's practice squad after Monday's 19-16 win versus the Rams.

With regular starter Irv Smith (hamstring) out, Hudson came up from the practice squad to serve as Cincinnati's top pass-catching tight end in Week 3, hauling in two of four targets for 30 yards. He actually played more snaps (36) than Drew Sample (34) and Mitchell Wilcox (32), so if Smith remains out for Week 4 at Tennessee, expect Hudson to get called up again.
