  • Julian Hill TE | NE

Dolphins' Julian Hill: Out for Week 2

Hill (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's contest with the Patriots.

Hill will remain on the sidelines for a second straight week while tending to an ankle injury. Durham Smythe and Tyler Kroft will continue to handle the lion's share of snaps at tight end.

  • Cade Otton TE | TB

Buccaneers' Cade Otton: Big boost in targets Sunday

Otton secured all six targets for 41 yards in the Buccaneers' 27-17 win over the Bears on Sunday.

After a quiet two-catch opener, Otton bounced back to co-lead the team in catches while checking in second in targets. The second-year tight end worked mostly near the line of scrimmage as his final line implies, but the type of volume he saw Sunday is one that fantasy managers can likely count on in most games this season as the sure-handed Otton develops into a trusted underneath option for Baker Mayfield.

  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Six catches in Week 2 loss

Engram caught six of eight targets for 57 yards in Sunday's 17-9 loss to the Chiefs.

Engram has 11 catches through two weeks after averaging 4.3 catches per game last season, with 73 in 17 appearances. The 29-year-old tight end has a consistent role in Jacksonville's Trevor Lawrence-led passing game ahead of the team's Week 3 home game against Houston.

  • Logan Thomas TE | SF

Commanders' Logan Thomas: Not returning Sunday

Thomas (concussion) won't return to Sunday's game in Denver.

Thomas was on the receiving end of a helmet-to-helmet hit from Broncos safety Kareem Jackson during his touchdown catch late in the second quarter. With the team ruling him out, Thomas will finish Week 2 with two catches (on three targets) for 22 yards and one touchdown. He'll now be subject to the protocol for head injuries, which will determine whether or not he'll be available next Sunday against the Bills. John Bates and Cole Turner are the next players up at TE for the Commanders.

  • Logan Thomas TE | SF

Commanders' Logan Thomas: Evaluated for concussion

Thomas is being evaluated for a concussion during Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Thomas caught two of his three targets for 22 yards and a TD. John Bates and Cole Turner are next up for the Commanders' TE snaps in Thomas' absence.

  • Mark Andrews TE | BAL

Ravens' Mark Andrews: Scores in season debut

Andrews (quadriceps) caught five of eight targets for 45 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 win over Cincinnati.

Andrews led the Ravens in targets in his season debut, and the productive tight end found the end zone from three yards out in the third quarter. Baltimore beefed up its receiving corps with the offseason additions of Odell Beckham in free agency and Zay Flowers in the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft, but Beckham didn't play in the second half due to an ankle injury. Even if every key pass catcher is available in Week 3 against the Colts, Andrews projects to remain in the upper echelon of fantasy tight ends as long as he's healthy.

  • Sam LaPorta TE | DET

Lions' Sam LaPorta: Makes five grabs

LaPorta caught five of six targets for 63 yards in Sunday's 37-31 overtime loss to the Seahawks.

LaPorta was one of four Lions pass catchers with at least five grabs. The rookie second-rounder has immediately emerged as a nice complementary target for quarterback Jared Goff, hauling in 10 of his 11 looks thus far. That dependability puts LaPorta's value on the rise ahead of Week 3's matchup versus the Falcons.

  • Travis Kelce TE | KC

Chiefs' Travis Kelce: Nine targets, TD in season debut

Kelce (knee) caught four of nine targets for 26 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 17-9 win over the Jaguars.

Making his season debut after sitting out the Week 1 loss to the Lions, Kelce had a 17-yard catch erased by a holding penalty in the first quarter and didn't register his first reception until just over three minutes remained in the first half. After shaking off the rust, Kelce got going in the second half, capping Kansas City's first drive of the third quarter with a nine-yard touchdown to take a 14-6 lead. The star tight end was the only player targeted more than five times by Patrick Mahomes, and Kelce should start to turn that attention into more yardage in Week 3 against the Bears and beyond. Kelce comes into 2023 riding a streak of seven consecutive seasons over 1,000 receiving yards.

  • Curtis Hodges TE | CAR

Commanders' Curtis Hodges: Healthy scratch again

Hodges (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Broncos.

Hodges was able to land a spot on the 53-man roster as the No. 4 tight end, but he'll be a healthy inactive for the second straight week. His next opportunity to play will be Week 3 against the Bills.

  • Lawrence Cager TE | WAS

Giants' Lawrence Cager: Not playing Week 2

Cager (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Arizona.

Cager played 16 offensive snaps in a blowout loss Week 1 against Dallas and finished with two catches on two targets for 17 yards. However, he's being held out Week 2 in Arizona. Cager figures to see limited opportunities this season with Darren Waller and Daniel Bellinger ahead of him on the tight-end depth chart.
