  • Chris Manhertz TE | NYG

Broncos' Chris Manhertz: Moving to Denver

Manhertz is slated to sign a two-year, $6 million deal with the Broncos, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Manhertz will join his fourth team as he goes into his eighth season. Primarily a blocking specialist, he's never caught more than six passes in a season. With Greg Dulcich and Albert Okwuegbunam ahead of Manhertz on the depth chart, expect him to continue a similar role with his new team.

  • Josh Oliver TE | MIN

Vikings' Josh Oliver: Gets big payday from Vikings

Oliver and the Vikings reached agreement Monday on a three-year, $21 million contract, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

A 2019 third-round pick, Oliver played only four games for his original team (Jacksonville) in two seasons but then developed into a solid backup tight end for Baltimore in 2021 and 2022. He's caught only 26 passes in 35 career games, and while he should see a few more targets in Minnesota, there's not much fantasy upside so long as T.J. Hockenson stays healthy. This move strongly suggests fellow free agent Irv Smith will sign elsewhere rather than sticking with the Vikings.

  • Chargers' Donald Parham: Not expected to be tendered

The Chargers are not expected to tender Parham ahead of free agency, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Parham and Los Angeles reportedly had talks about a potential extension, but the two sides have been unable to agree to terms. That sets up the depth tight end, who appeared in just six games last season due to injuries, to search for a new role elsewhere. The 25-year-old shouldn't have much difficulty earning a reserve gig on the open market.

  • Jonnu Smith TE | PIT

Falcons' Jonnu Smith: Headed to Falcons

The Patriots are slated to trade Smith to the Falcons in exchange for a seventh-round draft pick, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

The move frees up cap space for the Patriots, while leaving Hunter Henry as the team's clear-cut top tight end ahead of free agency and the 2023 NFL Draft. Meanwhile, Smith is in line to provide the Falcons with an experienced pass-catching option to work behind starting TE Kyle Pitts. This past season -- his second with New England -- Smith recorded 27 catches on 38 targets for 245 yards in 14 games.

  • Hunter Long TE | JAC

Rams' Hunter Long: Dealt to Rams

The Dolphins agreed Sunday to trade Long and a 2023 third-round pick to the Rams in exchange for cornerback Jalen Ramsey (shoulder), Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Long will be included as a complementary piece in one of the 2023 offseason's most notable trades up until this point. The 6-foot-5 tight end will finish his two-year stint in Miami with just one catch, as he saw extremely sparse offensive usage over 16 regular-season games during this span. Long figures to primarily slot in for the Rams as a blocking tight end behind Tyler Higbee and Brycen Hopkins.

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Re-signs with Saints

Johnson and the Saints have agreed on a two-year contract extension, Luke Johnson of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.

Johnson is coming off the best season of his young career. He recorded 508 yards and seven touchdowns on 42 receptions. By agreeing to an extension, he will avoid restricted free agency. The 26-year-old projects as the No. 1 tight end for new quarterback Derek Carr.

  • Jared Pinkney TE | CHI

Jared Pinkney: Waived by Los Angeles

The Rams waived Pinkney on Friday.

Pinkney made four appearances for the Rams in 2022, totaling 42 snaps (three offensive). He has yet to catch a pass across two NFL seasons and will likely be a long shot to make a roster ahead of the 2023 campaign.

  • Mitchell Wilcox: Won't be tendered

The Bengals announced Friday they will not tender Wilcox, making the tight end an unrestricted free agent, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Wilcox appeared in 16 regular-season contests and caught 17 of 18 targets for 139 yards and one touchdown. The majority of his production (nine receptions for 69 yards and a score) came in Weeks 15 and 16, when Hayden Hurst was sidelined due to injury. The undrafted tight end out of South Florida should have some interest as a free agent, but he may have to settle for another backup role.

  • C.J. Uzomah TE | PHI

Jets' C.J. Uzomah: Restructures contract for 2023

Uzomah and the Jets agreed Wednesday to a restructure of his contract that converts $4.5 million of his salary for 2023 into a signing bonus, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Uzomah's contract adjustment clears $3.6 million in cap space for the Jets, while it also makes it more difficult for New York to move on from the 30-year-old after this season considering that he's in line to account for more than $12.5 million against the cap in 2024, per Bridget Hyland of The Newark Star-Ledger. Uzomah, who tallied 21 receptions for 232 yards and two touchdowns across 15 games played in 2022, is once again slated to compete for snaps this year with fellow tight end Tyler Conklin.

  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Jaguars' Evan Engram: Gets franchise tag from Jaguars

The Jaguars have assigned the franchise tag to Engram, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

This was already the expectation, but it's now slated to occur after the sides were unable to come to an agreement on a long-term deal ahead of Tuesday's tagging deadline. They'll now have until mid-July to keep discussing a deal. Engram had a career year in Jacksonville last season with 73 catches for 766 yards and four touchdowns.
