  • Tre'Quan Smith WR | DET

    Saints' Tre'Quan Smith: Limited Thursday

Smith (shoulder) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.

As he did last week, Smith has kicked off this week with back-to-back capped sessions. It remains to be seen if he'll get back to full at Friday's practice, but after getting the LP treatment three times during Week 2 prep, it wasn't enough to be active this past Sunday against the Buccaneers. In any case, Friday's injury report may give a sense of Smith's chances to suit up Sunday in Carolina.

  • Scott Miller WR | CHI

Buccaneers' Scotty Miller: Back to full practice

    Miller (calf) practiced fully Thursday.

The Buccaneers' receiving corps seems poised to be depleted again Sunday versus the Packers, as Mike Evans will sit out due to a one-game suspension, Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) have yet to practice this week, and Russell Gage (hamstring) and Breshad Perriman (knee) were limited again Thursday. Miller didn't take advantage of his eight targets Week 2 at New Orleans, turning them into three catches for 34 yards while taking one carry for eight yards. Still, he could earn a decent enough snap share to make an impact in the box score this weekend.

  • Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC

Patriots' Jakobi Meyers: Misses another practice

Meyers (knee) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Zack Cox of NESN.com reports.

Back-to-back practice absences cloud Meyers' Week 3 status, but a return to the field Friday in any capacity could brighten his outlook on that front. If, however, Meyers is unable to suit up Sunday against the Ravens, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Lil'Jordan Humphrey would be candidates to see added opportunities versus Baltimore alongside fellow wide receiver Nelson Agholor.

  • Devin Duvernay WR | ARI

Ravens' Devin Duvernay: Limited participant Thursday

Duvernay (concussion) was a limited participant in practice Thursday.

It's a good sign that Duvernay was able to practice Thursday, but without knowing how limited he was it's difficult to know whether his Thursday practice indicates anything with certainty. He needs to clear the NFL's concussion protocol, and until he does practice developments can only be read into so much. If Duvernay is unable to play against New England on Sunday then it might require Demarcus Robinson to step in as the second receiver behind Rashod Bateman.

  • Buccaneers' Breshad Perriman: Another limited showing

Perriman (knee) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday.

With Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) again sitting out, Perriman and Russell Gage (hamstring) remained limited Thursday, while Scotty Miller (calf) escaped such a fate with a full session. The Buccaneers will be without Mike Evans in Week 3 against the Packers due to a one-game suspension, and if one or both of Godwin and Jones are inactive, Perriman would stand to serve as the team's top vertical threat in the passing game. Friday's injury report may provide some clarity regarding Tampa Bay's receiving corps as a whole.

  • Russell Gage WR | SF

Buccaneers' Russell Gage: Another limited session

Gage (hamstring) practiced on a limited basis Thursday.

Both Gage and Breshad Perriman (knee) had their reps capped Thursday, while Chris Godwin (hamstring) and Julio Jones (knee) didn't practice again, and Scotty Miller (calf) jumped from limited Wednesday to all activity one day later. The Buccaneers will be without Mike Evans in Week 3 versus the Packers due to a one-game suspension, and if Godwin and/or Jones also sit out, Gage would be in line for a significant target share this weekend. But that's assuming Gage ditches his designation ahead of Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Hunter Renfrow WR | CAR

Raiders' Hunter Renfrow: Misses another practice

Renfrow (concussion) remained sidelined at practice Thursday, Tashan Reed of The Athletic reports.

Back-to-back absences from practice put the focus on what Renfrow is able to do during Friday's session and his subsequent injury report listing ahead of Sunday's game against the Titans. If the the Raiders' slot man can't play this weekend, Tyron Johnson and Keelan Cole would be candidates to see added Week 3 receiver reps behind Davante Adams and Mack Hollins.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Puts in full practice Thursday

Gallup (knee) practiced fully Thursday, Michael Gehlken of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Coach Mike McCarthy relayed to Gehlken earlier Thursday that Gallup is closing in on making his season debut Monday at the Giants, assuming no setbacks. McCarthy also noted Gallup likely won't handle a full allotment of snaps, which is no shock considering he tore his left ACL in early January. When the Cowboys took the field Thursday, Gallup looked liked his old self, per Gehlken, and his subsequent activity level seems to back that up. If Gallup gets through Week 3 prep unscathed and suits up Monday, he may be behind fellow wide receivers CeeDee Lamb and Noah Brown in terms of snap and target share off the bat.

  • Corey Davis WR | NYJ

Jets' Corey Davis: Added to injury report

Davis (knee) was listed as a limited practice participant Thursday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

Davis practiced fully Wednesday, so his addition to the Jets' Week 3 injury report is notable. Cimini notes that he saw the wideout in the team's locker room after practice Thursday, and he "seemed OK," but this nonetheless is a situation to monitor ahead of Sunday's game against the Bengals. Through his first two games this season, Davis has put up an 8-160-1 line on 14 targets.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: Limited practice Thursday

Toney (hamstring) was a limited practice participant Thursday, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Toney appears caught in an unfortunate cycle of practicing off and on throughout the week only to barely play on game day, neither taking the time to recover fully nor progressing sufficiently during practice to fit into the game plan to any meaningful extent. That he improved his snap count share from 12 to 37 percent from Week 1 to Week 2 might be seen as a sign of progress, though that workload increase might have been partially subsidized by Kenny Golladay only playing two snaps in what seemed like something of a message from new coach Brian Daboll in Week 2. For Toney to really feature in the Giants game plan he'll evidently need to turn some sort of corner in practice. How Toney fits into the Giants' game plan against Dallas on Monday is anyone's guess in the meantime.
