Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC
Patriots' Jakobi Meyers: Limited in practice again
Meyers (knee) remained limited at practice Thursday, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
After having logged two straight limited practice sessions, Meyers will need to upgrade to full participation Friday in order to approach Sunday's season opener against the Dolphins minus an injury designation. If he's available this weekend, Meyers is in line to maintain a key pass-catching role in New England's offense alongside fellow wideouts DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and Nelson Agholor.

Velus Jones Jr. RB | SEA
Bears' Velus Jones: DNP on Thursday
Jones (hamstring) didn't practice Thursday.
Jones has been beset by injuries since early August, making just one appearance during exhibition season. Currently, a hamstring issue has kept him off the field in the first two sessions of Week 1 prep. In the end, Friday's injury report could provide clarity regarding the rookie third-round pick's availability for Sunday's game versus the 49ers.

Drake London WR | ATL
Falcons' Drake London: Limited again Thursday
London (knee) was limited at Thursday's practice, Ashton Edmunds of the Falcons' official site reports.
London continues to work himself back from a knee injury that he sustained in preseason Week 1, which kept him sidelined for the rest of the exhibition slate and off the practice field until Monday. With back-to-back capped sessions under his belt, he still has work to do in order to be cleared for Sunday's game against the Saints. As noted by coach Arthur Smith on Wednesday, the Falcons won't make a decision on London's availability until Saturday, according to D. Orlando Ledbetter of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Tre'Quan Smith WR | DET
Saints' Tre'Quan Smith: Absent for another practice
Smith (shoulder) isn't participating in Thursday's practice, John Hendrix of SI.com reports.
Smith's lack of activity in practice for the second straight day isn't a promising early sign with regard to his availability for Sunday's game against the Falcons. He'll get one more chance Friday to practice in some capacity, but even if he does so and avoids taking a designation into the weekend, Smith looks primed for a role reduction in 2022. Michael Thomas (hamstring) is set to return from the ankle injury that sidelined him for the entire 2021 campaign, and the Saints added ex-Browns slot standout Jarvis Landry and first-round rookie Chris Olave to their receiver room this offseason.
-
Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Returns to full practice
Waddle (quad) practiced fully Thursday, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.
After logging a limited session Wednesday, Waddle was able to handle every practice rep Thursday, which sets the stage for the 2021 first-rounder to be available for Sunday's season opener against the Patriots. Heading into the upcoming campaign, Waddle and Tyreek Hill are in line to form a dynamic one-two punch at wideout for the Dolphins, and in that context both players should see steady target volume from QB Tua Tagovailoa in 2022.
-
Allen Lazard WR | NYJ
Packers' Allen Lazard: No activity to begin practice
Lazard (ankle) wasn't spotted at the portion of Thursday's practice open to the media, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Prior to the Packers taking the field Thursday, coach Matt LaFleur was noncommittal about Lazard getting his first on-field work of Week 1 prep as the wide receiver tends to an ankle injury that he sustained in practice last week when his foot was stepped on. If Lazard indeed logs a second consecutive DNP, he'll have just one more chance to practice this week ahead of Sunday's season opener at Minnesota.
-
Cam Sims WR | CAR
Commanders' Cam Sims: Limited during practice
Sims (concussion) was limited at practice again Thursday, Zach Selby of the Commanders' official site reports.
Sims entered concussion protocols Aug. 24 and still has not gained clearance to participate in full. Currently listed No. 4 on the Commanders' wide receiver depth chart, his potential absence could create extra opportunity for Dyami Brown. Sims remains questionable for Week 1 game against the Jaguars.
-
Chris Godwin WR | TB
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: No practice Thursday
Godwin (knee) didn't practice Thursday, Greg Auman of The Athletic reports.
After being considered a full participant at Wednesday's session, Godwin seemed to be setting himself up to make a far quicker than expected return from the torn ACL and sprained MCL that he suffered in his right knee Week 15 of last season. Now, the wide receiver himself expects a decision on his availability for a Week 1 road matchup with the Cowboys to be a game-time decision. If the preceding comes to pass, Godwin's status may not be confirmed until 90 minutes before Sunday's 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff.
-
Sterling Shepard WR | NYJ
Giants' Sterling Shepard: Estimated as limited participant
Shepard (Achilles) was listed as a limited participant on Thursday's estimated practice report, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
The Giants didn't hold a traditional practice Thursday, so Shepard will be listed as limited for the second day in a row after his reps were capped during Wednesday's session. Shepard will look to upgrade to full activity Friday, which would bode well for his chances of being cleared to play in Sunday's season opener versus the Titans.

Tutu Atwell WR | LAR
Rams' Tutu Atwell: Could see additional work
Atwell and Ben Skowronek will likely see additional reps during Thursday's game against Buffalo with Van Jefferson (knee) ruled out, Jourdan Rodrigue of The Athletic reports.
During the preseason, both Atwell and Skowronek worked in a committee of wideouts while Jefferson sat out, and the duo emerged as the top two options to slot in as the No. 3 wide receiver for the Rams, complete with two different skill sets. Offensive coordinator Liam Coen noted that "Tutu is a guy that you look at (as) a little guy, maybe just (a downfield guy), but he knows our offense. He can play a few different positions. He just gives us some flexibility that Ben does, as well, but just in a different way." Skowronek and Atwell will likely split time behind Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson on Thursday, which will make it difficult to trust either player for fantasy outside of extremely deep leagues.
