  • Chris Godwin WR | TB

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Logs full practice Wednesday

Godwin (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Brianna Dix of the Buccaneers' official site reports.

Godwin has made a speedy recovery from the torn ACL and the MCL sprain that he sustained in his right knee Week 15 of last season, handling team drills as soon as Aug. 22 before practicing without a brace this week. The sixth-year pro continues to don a non-contact jersey during drills, which could mean he heads into the weekend with a designation of some sort. In the end, though, Godwin appears as if he'll be available for Sunday's season opener at Dallas.

  • CeeDee Lamb WR | DAL

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Avoids injury report

Lamb (foot) isn't listed on the Cowboys' injury report ahead of Sunday's game against Tampa Bay, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Lamb's foot injury this preseason was never considered serious and may have just been a bad bruise. He's locked in for a large share of the targets in the Dallas passing game with Amari Cooper off to Cleveland and Michael Gallup (knee) returning from an ACL tear and already ruled out for Week 1. The 23-year-old starts his season matching up with a Tampa Bay squad that typically has good efficiency numbers for a pass defense but also tends to see ample volume. The Bucs don't have a shutdown corner, but each of their top three players at the position -- Carlton Davis, Jamel Dean, Sean Murphy-Bunting -- has been with the team since at least 2019 and started at least 31 games.

  • Browns' Michael Woods: Limited Wednesday

Woods (hamstring) was limited during Wednesday's practice, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Woods has dealt with a hamstring injury since the beginning of August and made the initial 53-man roster despite not playing in any preseason games. Even if he clears the issue and suits up for Week 1, the rookie sixth-round pick is unlikely to garner a major offensive role during Sunday's matchup against the Panthers.

  • Steelers' Diontae Johnson: Limited in practice

Johnson (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Johnson didn't exactly sound confident talking to reporters after practice, saying he "tried to do everything my arm allowed me to do" and adding that he was doing "literally everything" in his power to be available for the season opener against Cincinnati on Sunday, per Joe Rutter of TribLive.com. The receiver injured his shoulder Aug. 28 in Pittsburgh's preseason finale, exactly two weeks before the first game that counts. If Johnson doesn't play this weekend, the Steelers will turn to Gunner Olszewski, Steven Sims or Miles Boykin as their third receiver behind Chase Claypool and George Pickens.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: Steers clear of injury report

Toney (leg) wasn't listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Toney's practice reps during the offseason program were affected by a minor knee procedure, and while he avoided the PUP list to start training camp, a hamstring injury ended up keeping him sidelined for the entire exhibition slate. With a full practice behind him, the second-year wide receiver is poised to be among quarterback Daniel Jones' top targets Week 1 in Tennessee along with Kenny Golladay, rookie Wan'Dale Robinson and Sterling Shepard (Achilles), the latter of whom was limited at Wednesday's session.

  • Giants' Sterling Shepard: Limited Wednesday

Shepard (Achilles) was a limited participant at Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Less than nine months removed from tearing his left Achilles' tendon, Shepard already has been activated from the PUP list and said he expects to suit up Week 1 in Tennessee. After a 2021 season in which the Giants cycled through numerous receivers beyond their top core, all of Kenny Golladay, Shepard, Kadarius Toney (leg) and rookie Wan'Dale Robinson appear as if they'll be available this weekend. Confirmation on Shepard's status still may not come until 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Performs individual drills

Gallup (knee) went through individual drills Wednesday, taking the next step in his rehab process, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

Gallup is listed as a limited participant on the Cowboys' first injury report of the season, just two days after head coach Mike McCarthy relayed that the wideout wouldn't practice or play in Week 1. He'll still be held out of Sunday's game against the Buccaneers and may not do team drills this week, but his activity Wednesday is at least a good sign that Gallup has a shot to play Week 2 or 3.

  • Cam Sims WR | CAR

    Commanders' Cam Sims: Limited Wednesday

Sims (concussion) was a limited participant during Wednesday's practice, Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post reports.

Initial reports said that Sims didn't practice Wednesday, but he actually did get some work in. However, the extent of his participation and his status for Sunday's season opener are both unknown. The fifth-year wideout was placed in concussion protocols at the end of August and has slowly worked his way back. If he's unable to suit up Week 1, expect Dyami Brown and Dax Milne to share the No. 4 wideout role behind Terry McLaurin, Jahan Dotson and Curtis Samuel.

  • Robbie Chosen WR | WAS

Panthers' Robbie Anderson: Practices in full

Anderson (quadriceps) was a full participant in Wednesday's practice, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Anderson is on track to play in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Browns after having dealt with minor quad and hip injuries in training camp and the preseason. The veteran wideout will start opposite DJ Moore as one of new quarterback Baker Mayfield's top receiving options against Cleveland's stingy secondary.

  • Cam Sims WR | CAR

Commanders' Cam Sims: No practice yet

Sims (concussion) is not practicing Wednesday, John Keim of ESPN.com reports.

Sims has been in the concussion protocol since late August. He won't be eligible to suit up for regular-season action until fully cleared, so his status for Week 1 is in legitimate danger. Dyami Brown and Dax Milne likely will handle the No. 4 wideout role versus Jacksonville on Sunday if Sims is unavailable.
