  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Big gain in team debut

Waddle brought in his only target for 35 yards in the Broncos' 33-13 preseason loss to the Packers on Friday.

Making his team debut, Waddle made very good use of his one opportunity during his brief time in the game Friday. The speedy offseason addition got loose down the seam on a third-and-5 play and gained an additional 10 yards after the catch to put Denver deep into Green Bay territory. Waddle looked completely unencumbered by the muscle tightness in his leg that had plagued him earlier in the week, and Friday's cameo may represent the extent of the 2021 first-round pick's game action until a Week 1 Monday night road showdown against the Chiefs.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: May play Friday

Waddle is in uniform for Friday's preseason game versus the Packers, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

After dealing with muscle tightness in his leg in early August, Waddle got back on the practice field Monday and progressed to team drills one day later. With his health seemingly not in question, he's poised to see his first game action with QB Bo Nix after Denver traded for the wide receiver's services back in March.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Returns to team drills at practice

Waddle (leg) participated in team drills Tuesday, SI.com's Chad Jensen reports.

Waddle returned to practice Monday for a non-padded session before proving his health Tuesday at a more taxing practice. A quick return to full participation suggests there's no concern about his Week 1 availability, and Waddle may even play in Friday's preseason game against Green Bay.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: In full pads for practice Tuesday

Waddle (leg) is in full pads for Tuesday's practice, Chris Tomasson of The Denver Gazette reports.

Things continue to be on the upswing for Waddle, who had been dealing with muscle tightness in his leg since early August. The prized offseason acquisition practiced Monday and is now going to work in full pads Tuesday. His status for Denver's upcoming preseason game against Green Bay on Friday is uncertain, but it's clear that Waddle is making progress toward being ready for the regular season.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Returns to practice Monday

Waddle (leg) took part in Monday's practice, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

Waddle exited practice on Wednesday, Aug. 5 due to muscle tightness in his leg and didn't mix back into drills before sitting out Friday's preseason game in Atlanta. Monday's appearance for the biggest newcomer to the Broncos offense this offseason is welcome news for QB Bo Nix and company, but it's unclear how much work Waddle was able to handle. Waddle's next chance for exhibition action if Fridays versus the Packers.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Not suited up Friday

Waddle (leg) isn't slated to play in Friday's preseason contest in Atlanta, Parker Gabriel of The Denver Post reports.

Waddle initially exited an Aug. 5 practice session early due to muscle tightness, and while he got rid of the sleeve on his left leg this past Saturday, he has yet to mix back into drills in the meantime. As a result, his first taste of game action as a Bronco will have to wait until at least next Friday against the Packers. Once Waddle is healthy, he's set to form a top WR duo in Denver with Courtland Sutton for QB Bo Nix.

  • Broncos' Jaylen Waddle: Still not practicing

Waddle, who has been dealing with muscle tightness, didn't participate in practice Tuesday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Waddle was present for Tuesday's session but didn't work into team drills. The former Dolphin remains day-to-day ahead of Friday's preseason opener against the Falcons, but given that he hasn't practiced since last Wednesday, it's increasingly likely he'll be sidelined for that contest.
