  • Browns' Anthony Schwartz: Day-to-day

Coach Kevin Stefanski noted Friday that Schwartz is "day-to-day" with a knee strain, Nate Ulrich of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.

Schwartz left Thursday's practice with a knee issue, but apparently it's nothing major, with Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram indicating that the wideout is in line to be available come Week 1. Once Schwartz is able to return to practice, he'll look to cement his role in a Cleveland wide receiver corps that's led by Amari Cooper and also includes Donovan Peoples-Jones and rookie David Bell, who is currently on the active/PUP list with a foot injury.

  • Romeo Doubs WR | NE

Packers' Romeo Doubs: Standing out early in camp

Doubs has impressed early in training camp for the Packers, Mike Spofford of the team's official site reports.

With Sammy Watkins (undisclosed) and Christian Watson (knee) unavailable, Doubs got some opportunities to work with Aaron Rodgers in Friday's practice and made the most of them. Spofford noticed three impressive plays from the rookie fourth-round pick out of Nevada on Friday. Doubs caught a pair of touchdowns from Rodgers and also managed to hang onto a difficult slant pass over the middle despite getting hit on the play. Given all the uncertainty in Green Bay's receiving corps, Doubs could carve out a prominent role right away if he's able to earn Rodgers' trust.

  • Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN

Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Finding success alongside Hill

Waddle and Tyreek Hill have been regularly generated explosive plays and been featured during the early days of training camp, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Waddle offered high praise for Hill's impact on Miami's offense, and per Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network, he also noted that the All-Pro wideout has taken on a "big brother" mentorship role. Wingfield stresses the new explosive dimension gifted to the Dolphins' offense by deploying Waddle and Hill in tandem, and observes that in the early days of training camp, both wideouts have benefited from the other demanding defensive attention. Hill made a handful of deep plays during Day 2 of training camp while Waddle's highlights are mostly described as involving short routes, but there's plenty of time for both to take reps all over the field before Week 1.

  • Tyreek Hill WR | MIA

Dolphins' Tyreek Hill: Thriving early in camp

Hill has found regular success during early training camp practices while operating alongside teammate Jaylen Waddle, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Hill logged the highlight of training camp Day 2 by securing a 40-yard pass from Tua Tagovailoa, but both he and Waddle have been regularly featured in offensive and team drills. Both wideouts are coming off seasons of over 100 catches and 1,000 yards and are now primed to form one of the most explosive receiver tandems in NFL history. As Wingfield notes, the impact of deploying both Hill and Waddle in coach Mike McDaniel's scheme should not only regularly produce big plays, but also open up opportunities for short-area plays to generate extra yards. In any case, it's encouraging to see the chemistry Hill has established with Tagovailoa already on display.

  • Jalen Reagor WR | MIA

Eagles' Jalen Reagor: Working with second team

Reagor is working with the second-team offense in camp, Bo Wulf of The Athletic Philadelphia reports.

Reagor was selected in the first round of the 2020 draft but failed to impress in his first two professional seasons, averaging 32 catches for 347.5 yards and 1.5 touchdowns. He'll have a tough time matching even that modest level of production this season thanks to the Eagles' acquisition of A.J. Brown, which pushed Reagor further down the depth chart. His best shot at fantasy relevance this season likely requires a trade to a new team willing to give him a fresh start.

  • DK Metcalf WR | PIT

Seahawks' DK Metcalf: Signs three-year extension

Metcalf has agreed to terms on a three-year, $72 million extension with the Seahawks, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.

Per the report, the wideout's deal includes $58.2 million guaranteed, with a $30 million signing bonus. With coach Pete Carroll having noted Wednesday that Metcalf -- who is bouncing back from a foot injury -- had passed his physical, look for the 2019 second-rounder to return to practice in short order. Heading into the 2022 season, Metcalf and Tyler Lockett remain entrenched as Seattle's top wideouts, but with Russell Wilson no longer in the mix, the duo are in line to be catching passes from either Geno Smith or Drew Lock come Week 1.

  • DJ Chark WR | ATL

Lions' DJ Chark: Being moved around formation

Chark has lined up across the formation during the installation of Detroit's new offense under first-year offensive coordinator Ben Johnson, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Chark largely stayed on the perimeter of the field during his time in Jacksonville, but it sounds like the Lions could be looking to get him the ball in other ways. However, with so many mouths to feed in the short-area passing game between Amon-Ra St. Brown, D'Andre Swift and T.J. Hockenson, it is fair to wonder how many more could be left over for someone else. Meanwhile, none of those other guys come close to having both of Chark's 6-foot-4 size and sub-4.4 speed, so the Lions don't really have a better option than Chark on the outside -- at least until Jameson Williams (knee) returns. In the end, most of Chark's production should be expected to come from his typical X-receiver alignment, though it is nice to know that there could be upside for more.

  • K.J. Osborn WR | TEN

Vikings' K.J. Osborn: Good to go for training camp

Osborn, who missed time during spring practices with an undisclosed injury, is back in action for training camp, Andrew Krammer of the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports.

Osborn, who recorded a 50-655-7 stat line on 82 targets over 17 contests last season, has noted that his goal is to be a "complete" target for quarterback Kirk Cousins in a Vikings offense that could move receivers around more this season. As things stand, Osborn gives the team a legit third option at the wide receiver position behind Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen.

  • David Bell WR | CLE

Browns' David Bell: Catches passes on sidelines

Bell (foot) practiced catching passes from an assistant on the sidelines during Cleveland's practice Thursday, Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site reports.

Bell is on the active/PUP list and could miss a couple of weeks of camp, per Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer. He'll be joined on the sidelines by Anthony Schwartz, who left Thursday's practice with a left knee injury that requires further evaluation. With the injuries piling up on the outside, Demetric Felton and rookie sixth-round pick Mike Woods figure to see added training camp reps.

  • Browns' Donovan Peoples-Jones: Hold on No. 2 job improves

With Anthony Schwartz leaving Thursday's practice early due to a knee injury, per Anthony Poisal of the Browns' official site, Peoples-Jones' hold on the No. 2 wide receiver improved.

In addition to the injury's impact on Peoples-Jones, Poisal points out the third-year wideout had a good day of practice, including a hook-up with quarterback Deshaun Watson on a deep ball. Peoples-Jones was considered the frontrunner for the job even with a healthy Schwartz, but the reduced competition helps secure the No. 2 job behind Amari Cooper. Schwartz walked off the field under his power with a trainer, albeit slowly and deliberately, Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.
