  • CeeDee Lamb WR | DAL

Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb: Excels in Week 1 loss

Lamb secured seven of 15 targets for 104 yards and a touchdown in the Cowboys' 31-29 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night. He also returned one punt for 12 yards.

If not for the otherworldly exploits of teammate Amari Cooper (13-139-2), Lamb's play would have been the talk of the Cowboys' pass-catching corps. The second-year pro was an effective complementary source of production throughout the night alongside Cooper and helped answer an early Buccaneers touchdown with a 22-yard scoring grab late in the first quarter. Even with the sub-50-percent catch rate for the night, Lamb and Dak Prescott appear to already be in sync despite a relatively sparse amount of regular-season opportunities to work together to date, and the duo will aim to put together another impressive performance in a Week 2 interconference road battle against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 19.

  • Amari Cooper WR | LV

Cowboys' Amari Cooper: Logs 13 catches in loss

Cooper secured 13 of 16 targets for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the Cowboys' 31-29 loss to the Buccaneers on Thursday night.

The multi-time Pro Bowler shook off an extremely truncated preseason that was a byproduct of offseason ankle surgery to pace all pass catchers in receptions, targets and receiving yards. Cooper's elite route-running skills were on display throughout the night as he consistently got the best of the Buccaneers secondary, and his five- and 21-yard touchdown grabs both brought the Cowboys within less than a field goal of Tampa Bay. While Dallas ultimately fell just short, Cooper's performance and his clear return to full health are certainly encouraging for fantasy managers who invested some draft capital in him. The 27-year-old will aim to stay hot in a Week 2 road battle versus the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 19.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Will be re-evaluated Friday

Gallup will be re-evaluated Friday after leaving Thursday's 31-29 loss to the Buccaneers with an ankle injury, Greg Auman of The Athletic report.

Gallup stayed on the sidelines for the rest of the game, and he was spotted walking under his own power, albeit with a limp, after the contest concluded. The 25-year-old posted four receptions for 36 yards -- all in the first half -- before suffering this injury. If Gallup is unable to play in Week 2 against the Chargers, Cedrick Wilson will likely operate as the Cowboys' No. 3 wide receiver.

  • Michael Gallup WR | WAS

Cowboys' Michael Gallup: Exits with ankle injury

Gallup was forced out of Thursday's game against the Buccaneers with an ankle injury, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Gallup was off to a solid start with four receptions for 36 yards in the first half, but he was targeted just once in the third quarter before exiting the game. The severity of Gallup's injury is unclear. Fellow wideout Cedrick Wilson figures to handle extra reps in Gallup's place.

  • Seahawks' Dee Eskridge: Elevates to full practice

Eskridge (toe) practiced in full Thursday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

A toe injury from the offseason program lingered into training camp, limiting Eskridge to one appearance in the exhibition season (two touches for 28 yards from scrimmage against the Chargers on Aug. 28). While he kicked off Week 1 prep with a limited practice Wednesday, he was unhindered one day later and is set to face the Colts in a road matchup Sunday. Eskridge likely will vie with Freddie Swain for reps as the Seahawks' third wide receiver behind DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett.

  • Noah Brown WR | LV

    Cowboys' Noah Brown: Absent Thursday

Brown (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Thursday at Tampa Bay, David Helman of the Cowboys' official site reports.

Brown recently spent a spell on the reserve/COVID-19 list after testing positive for the virus, so the missed time may have contributed to his absence. The Cowboys instead will have rookie fifth-round pick Simi Fehoko on hand as their fifth wide receiver.

  • Jaelon Darden WR | SEA

Buccaneers' Jaelon Darden: Pro debut to wait

Darden (coach's decision) is listed as inactive Thursday against the Cowboys.

Darden thus will be in street clothes to start his career, like recent Bucs rookie wide receivers Tyler Johnson (in 2020 as a fifth-rounder) and Scotty Miller (in 2019 as a sixth-rounder). A fourth-round pick himself, Darden may take a few games to break through and be active on game days.

  • Josh Reynolds WR | NYJ

Titans' Josh Reynolds: Limited in practice

Reynolds was limited in practice Thursday due to a foot injury, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

The specifics of Reynolds' injury aren't yet clear, but his status for Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Cardinals could come into focus based on his participation in practice leading up to the season opener. If the 26-year-old is unable to suit up Sunday, Chester Rogers and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine could see increased snaps.

  • Mecole Hardman WR | BUF

Chiefs' Mecole Hardman: Turns in full practice

    Hardman (oblique) practiced fully Thursday.

Hardman followed up Wednesday's limited session with a full practice Thursday, setting the stage for the 23-year-old to start opposite Tyreek Hill in Sunday's season opener against the Browns. With Sammy Watkins no longer in the mix and Patrick Mahomes as his QB, the door seems wide open for Hardman to improve on the 41-560-4 stat line that he logged in 2020.

  • A.J. Brown WR | NE

    Titans' A.J. Brown: Practices fully

Brown (knee) returned to a full practice Thursday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

After missing Wednesday's session, Brown worked fully Thursday and reportedly looked good during individual drills in the process. The 24-year-old thus is slated to start opposite newcomer Julio Jones in Sunday's season opener against the Cardinals. The duo is expected to form a strong one-two punch at wideout for the Titans in 2021, while undisputed top back Derrick Henry fuels the team's rushing attack.
