  • Trishton Jackson: Sent to waivers

The Rams waived Jackson on Tuesday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Jackson gave himself a shot to make the roster by catching three of five targets for 48 yards in the Rams' preseason finale. However, the 23-year-old was unable to secure a spot after being sidelined for nearly two weeks of training camp with a leg injury. The Syracuse product made the Rams' initial 53-man roster to start the 2020 campaign, but he remained inactive all season. He is a likely candidate to join the Rams' practice squad if he goes unclaimed on waivers.

  • Eagles' J.J. Arcega-Whiteside: Survives roster cuts

Arcega-Whiteside secured a spot on the Eagles' initial 53-man roster released Tuesday, Chris McPherson of the team's official site reports.

Though Arcega-Whiteside turned in another uneven preseason and has little on his resume through two campaigns, the Eagles' investment of a 2019 second-round pick must have ultimately been too much to justify cutting him. The 24-year-old flashed some promise in Philadelphia's third and final preseason matchup, and perhaps that is what put him over the top. He remains firmly at the bottom of the wideout depth chart, however.

  • K.J. Osborn WR | TEN

Vikings' K.J. Osborn: Looks set as No. 3 WR

Osborn is expected to begin the season as the Vikings' No. 3 wide receiver with Chad Beebe waived due to a foot injury and with Dede Westbrook only recently starting to participate in team drills, Arif Hasan of The Athletic reports.

Osborn could have a meaningful role in the offense initially with Beebe out of the picture, Westbrook unlikely to contribute right away, and with Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer saying the offense may need to utilize three-receiver sets more due to tight end Irv Smith's knee injury. Osborn likely has a short window of opportunity. In addition to Westbrook potentially take over the role, Smith could return in a few weeks, and Chris Herndon, whom the Vikings acquired Tuesday, could quickly get up to speed. Under Zimmer, the Vikings haven't typically made much use of a third receiver, but there's a chance Osborn could change their plans.

  • Josh Palmer WR | BUF

Chargers' Josh Palmer: Locked in No. 3 role

Palmer secured the Chargers' No. 3 receiver role after the team waived Tyron Johnson on Tuesday, Daniel Popper of The Athletic reports.

Given the big-play ability Johnson's displayed last season, the Chargers' decision to cut him is somewhat surprising. Jalen Guyton (leg) is still around as a downfield option -- a useful asset to have considering the team's top two wideouts, Keenan Allen and Mike Williams, are far from burners -- but it's clear the Chargers likes Palmer as an intermediate threat. The rookie's role in what should be an explosive offense will be something to monitor in the team's opener Sept. 12 against Washington.

  • Jason Moore WR | DET

    Jason Moore: Let go Tuesday

Moore (undisclosed) was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

Moore was always on the outside looking in when it came to the final 53-man roster, but a brief stint of missed practice time likely didn't help the cause. The Chargers didn't choose to put Moore on injured reserve or waive him with an injury designation, so it's fair to assume whatever kept him from practicing likely wasn't serious. The third-year receiver has frequently ping-ponged between the team's practice squad and active roster, but has played just 112 offensive snaps to date.

  • Michael Bandy WR | DEN

Michael Bandy: Let go in roster trimming

Bandy was waived by the Chargers on Tuesday, Gilbert Manzano of The Orange County Register reports.

The undrafted free agent never really had a shot at making the team, especially after the Chargers made the surprising choice to keep just five wideouts. It's likely Bandy will return to the team via the practice squad.

  • Deon Cain WR | BUF

Deon Cain: Waived with injury designation

Cain (head) was waived/injured by the Ravens on Tuesday.

Cain was evaluated for a concussion during the preseason finale against Washington. While a concussion isn't confirmed, he's dealing with some sort of injury. The 2018 sixth-round pick has posted nine receptions for 124 yards over the last two seasons. If he clears waivers, he'll land on injured reserve.

  • Antonio Nunn WR | ATL

    Antonio Nunn: Dropped by Falcons

Nunn was waived by the Falcons on Tuesday.

Nunn signed with the Falcons in May after going undrafted. He spent OTAs and training camp with the team, but ultimately failed to make enough of an impression to land on their 53-man roster.

  • Greg Dortch WR | BUF

    Greg Dortch: Placed on waivers

Dortch was waived by the Cardinals on Tuesday, Darren Urban of the team's official site reports.

Dortch played just 17 special-teams snaps as a rookie in 2019, and he hasn't taken the field since then. The Wake Forest product is still just 23 years old, so he'll try to continue his development on the practice squad.

  • Davion Davis WR | WAS

Browns' Davion Davis: Begins two-game suspension

Davis' two-game suspension officially commenced Tuesday, Dan Labbe of Cleveland.com reports.

Davis was slapped with a two-game suspension during the offseason for violating the NFL's Policy and Program on Substances of Abuse. He will be eligibile to return on Sept. 20. He projects to add depth at wide receiver and contribute on special teams for the Browns this season.
