  • Isaiah Ford WR | CHI

Isaiah Ford: Let go by Dolphins

The Dolphins cut Ford on Tuesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Ford has been a regular on Miami's practice squad since joining the team as a seventh-round pick back in the 2017 NFL Draft, and it's possible he resurfaces there in the regular season. He also appeared in 18 games from 2019-20, with a career-high 28 catches for 276 yards in 10 contests last season. With Will Fuller and Jaylen Waddle having joined the Dolphins this offseason, and Albert Wilson back after opting out, the receiving corps is simply too deep to afford Ford a spot.

  • Dolphins' Lynn Bowden: Placed on IR with hamstring injury

Bowden (hamstring) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

The Dolphins would've waited a week if they wanted the option to bring Bowden back later this season. As is, he'll be ineligible for the entire season if he remains with the Dolphins, only able to return if he agrees to an injury settlement and gets released. That wouldn't typically happen with a third-round pick in his second pro season, but Bowden is already on his second NFL team -- one that happens to have a crowded depth chart at wide receiver. The Dolphins also parted ways with Isaiah Ford and Robert Foster on Tuesday, clearing out some of the competition for the final spot or two at WR.

  • Austin Trammell: Let go by Atlanta

The Falcons waived Trammell on Tuesday, Michael Rothstein of ESPN.com reports.

Trammell was one of five players cut by Atlanta as a part of the team's efforts to trim the roster down to league requirements. The undrafted rookie out of Rice initially signed with the team back in May.

  • DeVante Parker WR | PHI

Dolphins' DeVante Parker: Practicing with non-contact jersey

Parker (undisclosed) returned to practice Tuesday while donning a red non-contact jersey, Daniel Oyefusi of the Miami Herald reports.

Parker began training camp on the PUP list and has been in and out of practice since being activated. It's encouraging to see him back on the field Tuesday, even if he only handles limited reps. Fellow starting wideout Will Fuller (foot/suspension) also returned to practice after having missed more than three weeks of on-field activities.

  • Jaguars' Collin Johnson: Secures touchdown Monday

Johnson caught his lone target for a 24-yard touchdown during Monday's preseason game against the Saints.

Johnson played 23 offensive snaps and saw his only production of the contest come late in the fourth quarter with C.J. Beathard helming the offense. Johnson hasn't produced much through two preseason games, as he has now caught two of three targets for 24 yards and a touchdown while playing 71 offensive snaps. With DJ Chark (finger) still sidelined after undergoing surgery in early August, it's a bit concerning Johnson isn't working with either the first- or second-team offense in preseason action while fighting for the No. 4 spot on the depth chart.

  • Jaguars' Laviska Shenault: Five catches in exhibition

Shenault caught five of seven targets for 36 yards during Monday's preseason game against the Saints.

Shenault played 24 offensive snaps during the first half and saw all his action with rookie Trevor Lawrence leading the offense. The 22-year-old wideout led the Jaguars in both receptions and targets as the rookie quarterback frequently looked for Shenault underneath. He could very well be the safety valve for Lawrence this season given Jacksonville's lack of receiving talent at tight end.

  • Robbie Chosen WR | WAS

Panthers' Robby Anderson: Signs two-year extension

Anderson is signing a two-year, $29.5 million extension with the Panthers, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Anderson signed a two-year, $20 contract last spring and responded with his first 1,000-yard season. The Panthers still have plenty of weaknesses, but wide receiver should be an annual strength with Anderson, DJ Moore and Terrace Marshall all under team control through 2023. It remains to be seen if QB Sam Darnold and OC Joe Brady are able to keep all three receivers well fed in an offense that also has volume hog Christian McCaffrey and a potential TE upgrade in Dan Arnold.

  • Saints' Lil'Jordan Humphrey: Scores again

Humphrey caught four passes for 74 yards and one touchdown during Monday's 23-21 preseason victory over Jacksonville.

The 6-foot-4 Humphrey found the end zone for a second straight exhibition game, this time on a back-shoulder pass from Taysom Hill. While the Saints have a number of candidates to help fill the void at receiver while Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (undisclosed) work their way back from injury, Humphrey is making a strong case to be near the top of the rotation. Other candidates for snaps behind Marquez Callaway and Deonte Harris include Ty Montgomery, Chris Hogan and Kawaan Baker.

  • Elijah Moore WR | PHI

Jets' Elijah Moore: Back at practice

Moore (quadriceps) returned to team drills Tuesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.

The rookie seemed to be a full participant in his first practice since Aug. 12, potentially setting up an appearance Friday night in a preseason game against the Eagles. Even if he doesn't play, Moore should be ready 16 days later when the Jets open their 2021 campaign with a trip to Carolina. Playing time remains a larger concern than his quad, as the Jets also have Corey Davis, Jamison Crowder, Keelan Cole and Denzel Mims at wide receiver, and they'll all be catching passes from a rookie QB in Zach Wilson.

  • Gabe Davis WR | BUF

Bills' Gabriel Davis: Out next five days

Davis was placed on the reserved/COVID-19 list Tuesday and must undergo a five-day re-entry process after he was deemed a close contact of someone who tested positive for the virus, Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News reports.

The same goes for Cole Beasley, leaving the team very thin at WR while Stefon Diggs (knee) and Emmanuel Sanders (foot) are still nursing minor injuries. It might not be the prettiest week of practice in Buffalo, but there's a good chance QB Josh Allen has each of his top four wideouts healthy for the season opener against Pittsburgh on Sept. 12. Seemingly the No. 4 receiver, Davis figures to get some snaps every week but might need an injury in front of him to see enough volume for mainstream fantasy value.
