  • Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: DNP due to wrist injury Wednesday

St. Brown missed practice Wednesday due to a wrist injury.

Per Nolan Bianchi of The Detroit News, St. Brown wasn't taking part during the media-access portion of Wednesday's session, and now the reason for his lack of work has become known. St. Brown will have two more chances to mix into drills this week ahead of Sunday's road showdown with the Chiefs. Through five games this season, he's reached 100 receiving yards two times while scoring six touchdowns.

  • Steelers' Calvin Austin: Misses practice Wednesday

Austin was a non-participant in Wednesday's practice, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said Austin is a player who could ramp up his practice activity "toward the latter part of the week," Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports, but it's nonetheless a bad sign to see the wideout absent from practice despite having had a bye to get right. Austin will presumably need to return to practice as at least a limited participant Thursday and/or Friday in order to have a chance at suiting up Sunday versus the Browns.

  • Jalen Coker WR | CAR

Panthers' Jalen Coker: Logs full practice

Coker (quadriceps) was a full practice participant Wednesday.

It was his first practice since Aug. 28, but the full participation suggests Coker has a chance to play this Sunday against the Cowboys. Carolina could certainly use his help, as the team is currently getting minimal production from any of the wide receivers behind No. 1 target Tetairoa McMillan. Coker split time between the slot and perimeter as a UDFA-turned-starter in 2024, presumably giving him a good feel for Dave Canales' offensive system as he prepares for a late start to his second NFL season. Coker soon figures to take playing time away from Xavier Legette and/or Hunter Renfrow.

  • Noah Brown WR | WAS

Commanders' Noah Brown: Back at practice

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said Wednesday that Brown (groin/knee) will participate in practice, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.

Brown will resume practicing Wednesday but Terry McLaurin (quadriceps) will not, per Quinn. A pair of injuries has kept Brown sidelined for three consecutive games, but he appears to be trending in the right direction for Monday's home matchup against the Bears. When active for Washington's first two games of the season, Brown handled just under 50 percent of offensive snaps and tallied a combined three catches for 36 yards on seven targets.

  • Terry McLaurin WR | WAS

Commanders' Terry McLaurin: Won't practice Wednesday

Commanders coach Dan Quinn said McLaurin (quadriceps) won't practice Wednesday, Tashan Reed of The Washington Post reports.

Quinn expressed optimism earlier this week about McLaurin's chances of suiting up Week 6 against the Bears on Monday, but the veteran wideout isn't yet ready to return to the practice field. McLaurin has missed two straight contests without practicing at all in that span. It's possible the team is simply taking a cautious approach to McLaurin's recovery, and that he'll have better odds of handling on-field work as Week 6 preparation progresses. On a positive note for Washington, Quinn said Noah Brown (groin/knee) will return to practice Wednesday.

  • Darius Slayton WR | NYG

Giants' Darius Slayton: Officially out for TNF

Slayton (hamstring) is ruled out for Thursday's game against the Eagles, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Slayton will miss Thursday's divisional matchup due to a hamstring injury sustained during Sunday's loss to the Saints. His next opportunity to take the field will come Sunday, Oct. 19 on the road against Denver in Week 7. With Slayton unavailable Thursday, Lil'Jordan Humphrey is expected to be elevated from the practice squad.

  • Jalen Coker WR | CAR

Panthers' Jalen Coker: Practice window opens

The Panthers are designating Coker (quadriceps) to return to practice from IR on Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

The transaction opens a 21-day window wherein Coker can be evaluated at practice without counting against the 53-man roster. Carolina can activate him at any point during that time, including getting him back on the field as early as Sunday versus the Cowboys. He's recovering from a quad injury suffered Aug. 28.

  • Alec Pierce WR | IND

Colts' Alec Pierce: Set to practice Wednesday

Pierce (concussion) is in line to practice Wednesday, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

Pierce has missed the last two games, but his looming ability to practice Wednesday is a positive step ahead of Sunday's game against the Cardinals. The wideout practiced fully last Wednesday and Thursday before downgrading to a 'DNP' listing Friday, so his level of participation as the Colts begin their Week 6 preparation will be notable.

  • Ravens' LaJohntay Wester: Limited to specialty role

Wester gained 16 yards on a punt return and went without a target while playing four of the Ravens' 43 snaps on offense in Sunday's 44-10 loss to the Texans.

A rookie sixth-round pick out of Colorado, Wester has logged just nine snaps at receiver through the Ravens' first five contests. He'll likely continue to handle a light role on offense while providing most of his value to the Ravens as the team's top option on punt returns.

  • Bengals' Mitchell Tinsley: No targets in Week 5

Tinsley went untargeted while playing three of the Bengals' 62 snaps on offense in Sunday's 37-24 loss to the Lions.

After drawing at least one target in each of the Bengals' previous three contests, Tinsley went without a look in the passing game while playing his fewest snaps to date through five weeks. Though the Bengals continue to prioritize him ahead of 2024 second-round pick Jermaine Burton at receiver, Tinsley will likely struggle to see meaningful volume while all of Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins, Andrei Iosivas and Mike Gesicki are available.
