Lance McCutcheon WR | TEN
Lance McCutcheon: Joins Pittsburgh's practice squad
The Steelers signed McCutcheon to their practice squad Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports.
Pittsburgh waived McCutcheon ahead of final roster cuts, but after a somewhat promising training camp, he'll now get to stay with the team as a member of the practice squad. The Steelers have one of the league's thinnest wide receiver groups behind DK Metcalf, so McCutcheon could be closer to the field than the average practice squad wideout.

Jake Bobo WR | SEA
Seahawks' Jake Bobo: Remains limited by concussion
Bobo (concussion) practiced in a limited capacity Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Bobo entered the concussion protocol during the Seahawks' preseason finale at Green Bay when a teammate was blocked into him on a punt return, causing him to fumble. Coach Mike Macdonald told Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune on Wednesday that Bobo still was in the protocol, but he was spotted fielding punts during Monday's unpadded practice. Considering he has a cap on his reps, Bobo likely has a few hurdles to get past in order to make himself available Sunday versus the 49ers.

Braxton Berrios WR | HOU
Texans' Braxton Berrios: Nursing hamstring injury
Berrios did not participate in Wednesday's practice due to a hamstring injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
It's unclear when Berrios sustained the injury, but it was severe enough for him to miss Wednesday's practice. He'll have two more days to return to practice and fade an injury tag heading into Sunday's regular-season opener against the Rams in Los Angeles. Berrios signed a one-year deal with the Texans in March and is slated to see most of his playing time on special teams as a returner.

Christian Kirk WR | HOU
Texans' Christian Kirk: DNP due to hamstring injury
Kirk was held out of practice Wednesday due to a hamstring injury.
Houston acquired Kirk from the Jaguars in early March for a 2026 seventh-round pick, after which he and the Texans reworked his contract by the end of that month. He seemingly locked up the No. 2 WR role behind Nico Collins by mid-August, but a new health concern now may threaten his availability for Week 1 and beyond. Getting back on the practice field Thursday and/or Friday will be key for Kirk's potential to play Sunday at the Rams, but if he's limited or out this weekend, rookies Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel would be in line for more targets from QB C.J. Stroud.

Kyle Williams WR | NE
Patriots' Kyle Williams: Ready for opener
Williams (undisclosed) isn't listed on the Patriots' Week 1 injury report.
Now that he's cleared for Week 1 action, Williams should settle into a role in the Patriots offense out of the gate this season, but it may take some time before the 2025 third-rounder sees steady volume in a wideout corps that also includes Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Efton Chism. Per Mike Reiss of ESPN, to kick off the 2025 campaign, Diggs projects as a starter alongside Boutte, with Douglas in the slot and Hollins next on the depth chart, followed by Williams.

Tory Horton WR | SEA
Seahawks' Tory Horton: Logs full practice Wednesday
Horton (ankle) was a full practice participant Wednesday, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.
Taken in the fifth round of the 2025 Draft, Horton was working with Seattle's first-team offense early in training camp before tweaking his ankle in preseason Week 2. Despite missing practice until Wednesday's uncapped session, he won the No. 3 WR job when Marquez Valdes-Scantling was released during roster cuts, but Horton likely will be a distant third in terms of targets at the position with Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Cooper Kupp ahead of him on the depth chart.
-
Efton Chism III WR | NE
Patriots' Efton Chism: Logs full practice
Chism (knee) practiced fully Wednesday.
The Patriots list the injury that Chism had been dealing with as a knee issue, but either way, the UDFA out of Eastern Washington will be available for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Raiders. On the heels of an impressive preseason, Chism secured a spot on the 53-man roster, but at least initially look for the rookie slot man to work in a depth role in a wideout corps that also includes Stefon Diggs, DeMario Douglas, Kayshon Boutte, Mack Hollins and Kyle Williams.

Jermaine Burton WR | CIN
Bengals' Jermaine Burton: Healthy for Week 1
Burton (knee) did not appear on the Bengals' injury report Wednesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports.
Burton suffered a knee injury in the team's preseason finale against the Colts, but he now appears to be a full go at practice. The wide receiver will operate as a depth option behind Ja'Marr Chase, Tee Higgins and Andrei Iosivas in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Browns.

Xavier Gipson WR | NYG
Jets' Xavier Gipson: Fades Wednesday's injury report
Gipson (shoulder) is not listed on the Jets' injury report Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Gipson missed New York's final preseason contest due to a shoulder issue. However, he appears to be in line to play Week 1 versus the Steelers given his absence from the injury report Wednesday. In addition to serving as wideout depth for New York, Gipson should function as the team's lead kick and punt returner.

D'Wayne Eskridge WR | MIA
Dolphins' Dee Eskridge: Logs limited practice Wednesday
Eskridge (concussion) was a limited participant at practice Wednesday, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.
Eskridge missed practice entirely Monday, so his activity Wednesday represents a step in the right direction ahead of Sunday's game at Jacksonville. He'll still probably have to practice in full Thursday or Friday to avoid carrying an injury designation into the weekend.
