  • Josh Simmons OT | KC

Chiefs' Josh Simmons: Officially placed on IR

Simmons (wrist) was placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday.

As expected, Simmons was placed on IR after sustaining a dislocated and fractured wrist in Kansas City's Thanksgiving Day loss to the Cowboys. He'll now be forced to miss at least the team's next four games, and Wanya Morris will likely step in and start at left tackle.

  • Cam Jones LB | NYG

Jets' Cam Jones: Practice window opens

Jones (hip) was designated to return from the injured reserve list Wednesday.

Jones appears to be nearing a return after missing the Jets' last six games due to a hip injury sustained in the Week 6 loss to the Broncos. Once the 26-year-old returns to full health, he's expected to operate as one of the Jets' key special-teamers for the remainder of the season.

  • Joaquin Davis WR | PIT

Joaquin Davis: Picked up by Minnesota

Davis signed with the Vikings' practice squad Wednesday.

The North Carolina Central product was dropped by the Broncos in late August but has since found a new home in Minnesota. Davis has yet to make his NFL debut after catching 31 passes for 489 yards and four touchdowns across 11 games during his final collegiate season.

  • Trey Benson RB | ARI

Cardinals' Trey Benson: Not spotted at practice

Benson (knee) was absent from the media-access portion of Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

If Benson goes down as a non-participant Wednesday, it'll mark his third consecutive DNP dating back to last week. He's now exactly two weeks into his 21-day practice window in which to return from injured reserve, but the recent string of missed sessions isn't a great sign that will come to pass. Wednesday's injury report will reveal whether or not Benson was able to take part in any drills to begin Week 14 prep.

  • Ty Chandler RB | NO

Vikings' Ty Chandler: Designated to return

Chandler (knee) was designated to return from the injured reserve list Wednesday.

The 27-year-old has missed Minnesota's last 11 games due to a knee injury sustained in the Week 1 win over the Bears. However, his 21-day practice window opening Wednesday suggests he's nearing a return. Once fully healthy, Chandler is expected to handle kick-return duties while playing a depth role in the Vikings' backfield.

  • Donte Kent CB | PIT

Steelers' Donte Kent: Practice window opens

Kent (foot) was designated to return from the injured reserve list Wednesday, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports.

The rookie seventh-round pick from Central Michigan has been sidelined all season due to a foot injury, but it now appears he's nearing a return. Pittsburgh now has 21 days to add Kent to its active roster before he reverts to IR. Once fully healthy, the 24-year-old is expected to play a depth role in the Steelers' secondary.

  • Jawaan Taylor OT | ATL

Chiefs' Jawaan Taylor: Nursing triceps injury

Taylor (triceps) won't practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.

The 28-year-old sustained a triceps injury in the Chiefs' Week 13 loss to the Cowboys, so it's no surprise he's sidelined Wednesday. Taylor's practice participation Thursday and Friday will likely provide the best indication of whether he can play in Sunday's matchup against the Texans. If he's sidelined for the first time this season, Jaylon Moore would likely start at right tackle.

  • Cardinals' Marvin Harrison: Not seen at practice

Harrison (heel) wasn't present at the open portion of Wednesday's practice, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Harrison suffered a heel injury in the fourth quarter of this past Sunday's loss at Tampa Bay and didn't return. The outing was his first following a two-game absence due to undergoing an appendectomy, and coach Jonathan Gannon relayed to Tyler Drake of ArizonaSports.com that Harrison's new health concern could result in more missed time. Wednesday's injury report will reveal whether or not Harrison was able to mix into any drills.

  • Trey Smith G | KC

Chiefs' Trey Smith: Logs DNP on Wednesday

Smith (ankle) won't practice Wednesday, Matt McMullen of the Chiefs' official site reports.

The Tennessee product was sidelined for Kansas City's Week 13 loss to the Cowboys after sustaining high and low ankle sprains the game prior, and Wednesday's DNP suggests he's still dealing with the issue. Smith likely needs to upgrade to at least limited practice Thursday or Friday in order to play in Sunday night's matchup against the Texans.

  • Jets' Marcelino McCrary-Ball: Won't play Sunday

Head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters Wednesday that McCrary-Ball (hamstring) won't play in Sunday's matchup against the Dolphins.

The 26-year-old returned from a seven-game absence in the Jets' Week 13 win over the Falcons, playing 29 defensive snaps and recording five total tackles. However, it now appears he's still dealing with a hamstring injury, as Glenn has already ruled him out for the Week 14 divisional matchup. While McCrary-Ball is sidelined again Sunday, Mykal Walker and Kobe King could have expanded roles in the Jets' linebacker corps.
