  • Patriots' Andy Borregales: Makes two kicks in loss

Borregales made his sole field-goal attempt and his only PAT try in Wednesday night's 13-10 loss to the Seahawks.

Borregales had minimal usage in Sunday's contest, but he drilled a 50-yard field goal that extended New England's lead to 10-0 at the start of the third quarter. The kicker will likely see more action in subsequent games as the team's offense gets back on track against some easier defenses.

  • Jadarian Price RB | SEA

Seahawks' Jadarian Price: Efficient in Week 1 win

Price rushed 10 times for 52 yards and brought in both targets for six yards in the Seahawks' 13-10 win over the Patriots on Wednesday.

The rookie running back touched the ball on Seattle's first play from scrimmage and immediately made an impact, ripping off a decisive 13-yard run. While that would serve as Price's longest gain of the night, the first-round pick continued to run hard throughout the night while flashing a hard-charging style. Price's rushing opportunities were somewhat capped as George Holani also logged eight carries, but the former could be trusted with a bigger role in a Week 2 road matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 20.

  • Jason Myers K | SEA

Seahawks' Jason Myers: Perfect in opener

Myers made both of his field-goal attempts as well as his sole PAT in Wednesday night's 13-10 victory over the Patriots.

Myers made field goals from 30 and 26 yards, nailing a fourth-quarter kick with just under six minutes remaining to take the game-winning lead. While Myers was perfect Wednesday night, the kicker was not truly tested in the contest and the preseason adversity could flare up if he must extend his range in future weeks.

  • Drew Lock QB | SEA

Seahawks' Drew Lock: Delivers in emergency duty

Lock took over for Sam Darnold (hip) with 7:29 remaining in the first quarter of Wednesday's 13-10 win over the Patriots and completed 16 of 22 passes for 187 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions while adding two rushes for 13 yards.

Lock unsurprisingly took some time to get going, with his first six possessions netting just 95 total yards and zero points. However, the veteran signal-caller finally got into a rhythm late in the third quarter and led Seattle to its 13 points, the final 10 coming after Drake Maye's first two interceptions. Lock also picked up his connection with Jaxon Smith-Njigba in the second half, hitting the star wideout for a 45-yard touchdown that knotted the game at 10 early in the fourth quarter. While Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports that head coach Mike Macdonald confirmed a fracture has been ruled out for Darnold, it's still possible Lock is under center for a Week 2 road matchup against the Cardinals on Sunday, Sept. 20.

  • Sam Darnold QB | SEA

Seahawks' Sam Darnold: In line for MRI on hip

Darnold underwent a CT scan on his hip and is expected to undergo an MRI on Thursday after the quarterback didn't return to Wednesday's win against the Patriots, Adam Schefter of ESPN.com reports.

Darnold injured his hip on the Seahawks' fifth offensive play of the game and eventually was ruled out. Per Schefter, the results of Darnold's CT scan were encouraging yet inclusive, while coach Mike Macdonald told Corbin K. Smith of SI.com postgame that a fracture has been ruled out, with more tests to be done. A number of scenarios appear to be on the table for Seattle's starting QB, but if Darnold needs to miss any time, Drew Lock would get another opportunity to lead the offense.

  • Drake Maye QB | NE

Patriots' Drake Maye: Trio of critical INTs in loss

Maye completed 23 of 33 passes for 178 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions while rushing seven times for 47 yards in the Patriots' 13-10 loss to the Seahawks on Wednesday.

The third-year signal-caller carried out a conservative game plan with reasonable efficacy for three quarters before unraveling with a trio of fourth-quarter interceptions. Maye didn't throw a pass until the first play of New England's second possession, and he lost prized offseason addition A.J. Brown on the first series of the second half due to an ankle injury. The first two of Maye's interceptions led to Seattle's last 10 points of the night, and his final pick came on a poorly thrown lob into the end zone with 26 seconds remaining when it appeared New England was perfectly positioned for a game-tying field-goal attempt that would have forced overtime. Maye's three interceptions were a single-game career-high for the 2024 first-round pick, and it remains to be seen if he'll have Brown available for the Patriots' Week 2 home opener against the Steelers on Sunday, Sept. 20.

  • A.J. Brown WR | NE

Patriots' A.J. Brown: Vrabel has 'no update' on injury

Coach Mike Vrabel didn't have an update on Brown (ankle) after Wednesday's loss at Seattle in which the wide receiver left early due to injury, Taylor Kyles of CLNSMedia.com reports.

Brown exited early in the third quarter after his right ankle was rolled up on by a Seahawks defender as he was attempting to gather in a pass from QB Drake Maye. Brown eventually was ruled out later in the second half, ending Week 1 with three catches (on four targets) for 26 yards. He likely will undergo a battery of tests to hone in on the extent of the injury, especially after being spotted in a walking boot postgame, per Andrew Callahan of the Boston Herald.

  • Seahawks' Jaxon Smith-Njigba: Cranks it up in second half

Smith-Njigba brought in eight of 11 targets for 122 yards and a touchdown in the Seahawks' 13-10 win over the Patriots on Wednesday.

The reigning Offensive Player of the Year endured a relatively difficult first half after making a 13-yard catch on the second play from scrimmage, losing starting quarterback Sam Darnold to a hip injury after the first drive of the game and experiencing some trouble separating from Patriots star cornerback Christian Gonzalez. However, JSN picked up the pace significantly as No. 2 signal-caller Drew Lock got into a rhythm, recording key third-down catches on consecutive second-quarter possessions and then delivering a dynamic 45-yard catch-and-run touchdown in the fourth quarter following Drake Maye's first interception. Smith-Njigba also subsequently managed a timely 11-yard grab on the drive that culminated with Jason Myers' go-ahead field goal that served as the final points for either side, and the star receiver ultimately delivered game-high totals in receptions, receiving yards and targets. Any extended absence on Darnold's part would stand to affect Smith-Njigba's week-to-week upside, but the standout receiver's chemistry with Lock as Wednesday's game unfolded was encouraging.

  • A.J. Brown WR | NE

Patriots' A.J. Brown: Will not return Wednesday

Brown (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's contest versus Seattle.

Brown will remain sidelined until the conclusion of the team's regular-season opener after suffering a right ankle injury in the third quarter. In the wideout's absence, running back Rhamondre Stevenson has been quarterback Drake Maye's favorite target against the Seahawks.

  • Saahdiq Charles: Tries out with Dallas

The Cowboys hosted Charles for a tryout Wednesday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.

Charles reached an injury settlement with the Panthers in early August. The offensive guard has recovered from his calf injury and is ready to take another shot at an NFL roster. The Cowboys chose to sign Laken Tomlinson instead, but Charles could still be considered by the Cowboys or other franchises.
