  • Packers' Zach Tom: Back on injury report

Tom (back) logged a limited practice Wednesday.

Though practically a constant presence on the Packers' injury report, Tom has played in consecutive games. Given his recent trend, it appears likely that he'll be available Sunday against the Steelers, but he could draw an injury designation heading into the matchup.

  • Jonah Elliss LB | DEN

Broncos' Jonah Elliss: Back practicing in limited fashion

Elliss (shoulder) was a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Elliss last played in Week 5 against Philadelphia, and he's missed the Broncos' subsequent two games due to injury. The second-year linebacker didn't practice at all last week, so his limited session Wednesday represents a step in the right direction toward a return. Nonetheless, Elliss should be considered iffy to suit up Sunday against Dallas.

  • Vikings' Christian Darrisaw: Questionable to face Chargers

Darrisaw (knee) is listed as questionable ahead of Thursday's game against the Chargers, Craig Peters of the Vikings' official site reports.

Darrisaw made his season debut in Week 7 against Cincinnati after recovering from torn ACL and MCL injuries. He wasn't on the injury report until Wednesday, when he did not practice. It's possible the team was just limiting his reps, but Darrisaw's status is now unclear.

  • Cedric Johnson DE | CIN

Bengals' Cedric Johnson: Returns to practice

Johnson (calf) was cleared to return to practice Wednesday.

Johnson has dealt with the calf injury since early August and has yet to play this season. He logged a full practice Wednesday, suggesting he could make his first appearance of 2025 in Week 8 against the Jets.

  • Storm Norton OT | ATL

Falcons' Storm Norton: Designated to return to practice

The Falcons designated Norton (ankle) to return from IR on Wednesday, Terrin Waack of the team's official site reports.

Norton began the season on injured reserve due to an ankle injury that required surgery. He was initially deemed likely to miss six to eight weeks, so a return to practice this week sits within that timetable. Norton will need to be activated within 21 days or else be required to miss the remainder of the campaign.

  • Jaylin Smith CB | HOU

Texans' Jaylin Smith: Set to return to practice

Smith (hamstring) was designated to return from injured reserve Wednesday, per the NFL transaction log.

Sidelined since Week 3 with the hamstring injury, Smith was able to log a limited practice Wednesday. It's unclear if he'll be able to return for a Week 8 matchup against the 49ers, and he'll likely occupy primarily a special-teams role when healthy.

  • Saints' John Ridgeway: Back from IR

Ridgeway (shoulder) was activated from injured reserve Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

After suffering a pectoral injury in mid-August, Ridgeway has been sidelined all season. He has practiced in full for most of October and should be set for a Week 8 season debut against Tampa Bay.

  • Ravens' Emery Jones: Officially activated

Jones (shoulder) was activated from the reserve/non-football injury list, Ryan Mink of the Ravens' official site reports.

Jones has been sidelined while recovering from shoulder surgery that he suffered while preparing for the 2025 NFL draft. After practicing for all of October, Jones has a chance to be active for a Week 8 matchup against the Bears.

  • Patriots' Charles Woods: Trending toward suiting up Sunday

Woods (knee) was a full participant at practice Wednesday.

Woods missed New England's game in Week 7 at Tennessee because of a knee injury, but it now seems like he'll be back to full strength for Week 8. The Patriots' defensive backfield as a whole is relatively healthy at the moment, so Woods doesn't project to play a major role Sunday versus the Browns.

  • Browns' Mike Hall: Appears ready for debut

Hall (knee) practiced in full Wednesday, Daniel Oyefusi of ESPN.com reports.

Sidelined all season while recovering from knee surgery, Hall returned to limited practice last week. He appears to be set to make his 2025 debut in Week 8 against the Patriots.
