  • Scott Miller WR | CHI

Scotty Miller: Cut from Chicago's practice squad

The Bears cut Miller from the practice squad Thursday.

Miller signed with the Bears' practice squad after failing to make the 53-man roster out of training camp. The veteran wide receiver will explore his next options and look to catch on with a team in need of an extra pass-catcher who can also contribute on special teams.

  • Chargers' Brenen Thompson: Idle for Thursday's practice

Thompson (quadriceps) did not practice Thursday.

Thompson has missed each of the first two practices of Week 3 prep while tending to a quadriceps injury, and he'll have one more opportunity to practice in at least a limited capacity ahead of Sunday's road game against the Bills. The rookie fourth-rounder has operated in a depth role through the first two games of the regular season, logging one catch (on three targets) for 13 yards in that span. Derius Davis and recent free agent signing Marquez Valdes-Scantling would see more involvement in the offense if Thompson is unable to play in Buffalo.

  • Nakobe Dean LB | LV

Raiders' Nakobe Dean: Full participant Thursday

Dean (shoulder) was a full participant in practice Thursday.

The inside linebacker was limited to open the practice week Wednesday. Now that he's back, Dean should be good to go for Sunday's game against the Saints. He has recorded 15 tackles (11 solo), including 1.5 sacks, and two forced fumbles through two contests.

  • Derwin James FS | LAC

Chargers' Derwin James: Practices Thursday with cast on pinky finger

James (finger) was a full participant in Thursday's practice.

James broke his pinky finger during the Chargers' Week 2 loss to the Raiders, but the veteran safety was on the field for Thursday's session with a cast on, per Kris Rhim of ESPN.com. James is track to play in Sunday's road game against the Bills, though it's unclear whether he will don the cast for that contest. He's logged 17 tackles (nine solo) and one pass defense through the first two games of the 2026 regular season.

  • Buccaneers' Josiah Trotter: Still idle due to shoulder injury

Trotter (shoulder) did not participate in Thursday's practice.

Trotter has opened Week 3 prep with back-to-back DNPs due to a shoulder injury he presumably sustained during this past Sunday's 23-19 loss to the Browns. He'll need to practice in at least a limited capacity Friday to have a realistic chance of playing this Sunday against the Vikings. SirVocea Dennis and Christian Rozeboom would be the top candidates to start alongside Alex Anzalone at inside linebacker if Trotter is unable to play.

  • Texans' Jadeveon Clowney: Doesn't practice Thursday

Clowney (knee) did not participate in practice Thursday.

The defensive end also had to sit out Wednesday. Clowney didn't practice in Week 2 and ended up missing the Texans' loss to the Bengals. Dominique Robinson and Sabastian Harsh are the next two up for the depth edge rusher role behind Will Anderson and Danielle Hunter.

  • Bears' Tyrique Stevenson: DNP to open Week 3 prep

Stevenson (hamstring) did not participate in Thursday's practice.

Stevenson tweaked his hamstring during the Bears' Week 2 loss to the Vikings, and he was held out of the first practice of Week 3 prep as a result of his injury. He'll have two more opportunities to increase his practice participation to avoid an injury designation for Monday's home tilt against the Eagles.

  • Jonas Sanker SAF | NO

Saints' Jonas Sanker: Practices fully Thursday

Sanker (knee) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

A knee injury limited Sanker's practice participation Wednesday, but the issue appears to have been a precautionary measure, putting the second-year defensive back on track to play Sunday against Las Vegas. Sanker has 13 tackles (10 solo) through two regular-season games.

  • Chase Young DE | NO

Saints' Chase Young: Logs full practice Thursday

Young (calf) was a full participant in Thursday's practice, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

Young opened Week 3 prep as a limited participant in Wednesday's practice due to a calf injury, but his full session Thursday puts the seventh-year pass rusher on track to play against the Raiders on Sunday. Young has two tackles (one solo), including 1.5 sacks, and one pass defense through the first two games of the regular season.

  • Chop Robinson LB | MIA

Dolphins' Chop Robinson: Clears concussion protocol

Robinson has cleared the concussion protocol and is available to play in Sunday's matchup with the Chiefs, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

The defensive end likely suffered the concussion in Week 1 against the Raiders and then missed the Dolphins' Week 2 clash with the 49ers. Robinson has suffered three concussions in the last two seasons and told reporters he would wear the Guardian Cap on his helmet this week versus Kansas City, per Joe Schad of The Palm Beach Post. The Miami Herald's Barry Jackson reported that Robinson has suffered "at least" five concussions in this three-year NFL career.
