Hughes (lower body) will not be in the lineup versus Columbus on Tuesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.
Hughes remains hopeful of playing in Thursday's clash with the Islanders, which would be a nice tune-up ahead of his participation in the 2026 Winter Olympics with Team USA. If Hughes does play against the Blue Jackets, he figures to reclaim his spot on the first line and No. 1 power-play unit.
