Silfverberg will sign a contract with Brynas IF of Sweden's HockeyAllsvenskan league for the 2024-25 season. Although Silfverberg will play his last NHL contest Thursday versus Vegas, the 33-year-old Swede will join his hometown team of Brynas IF for at least one season in 2024-25 before potentially hanging up his skates for good. Assuming he doesn't add to his totals Thursday, Silfverberg will finish his NHL career having racked up 168 goals and 373 points over 820 contests.

Silfverberg will hang up his skates at the end of the season, the Ducks announced Thursday. Silfverberg was selected by the Senators with the 39th overall pick in the 2009 NHL Draft but spent just one season with Ottawa before being traded to Anaheim. The 33-year-old winger spent the next 11 years with Anaheim, racking up 158 goals and 196 assists in 769 games -- adding to the 19 points in 48 games he logged in that rookie season.

Silfverberg scored a goal on three shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Kraken. Both of Silfverberg's points came shorthanded -- in fact, they were on the same penalty kill. This was his first multi-point effort since Jan. 25. He has three points over three contests since he snapped a 13-game slump. The veteran winger has 19 points, 95 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating through 72 outings in a bottom-six role this season.

Silfverberg notched an assist in Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Lightning. Silfverberg set up a Ross Johnston tally in the first period. The assist snapped a 13-game point drought for Silfverberg, who lost all of the momentum he gained from playing reasonably well from late January through February. The winger has just 17 points with 92 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over 70 appearances, with health being about the only positive on his stat line this season.

Silfverberg scored a power-play goal in Saturday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Kings. Silfverberg opened the scoring midway through the first period. Over the last 11 games, Silfverberg has resurrected his offense with eight points, including two on the power play. The third-line winger has just 13 shots in that span, so this surge is unlikely to be sustainable. On the season, he's at 16 points, 80 shots and a plus-4 rating through 56 appearances in a third-line role.
