Tim Erixon: Secures two-year deal overseas

Tim Erixon agreed to terms on a two-year contract with Vaxjo Lakers HC (Sweden) on Saturday.Erixon logged 28 games for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton last season, in which he notched five assists, 18 PIM and a plus-6 rating. In his career, the blueliner has appeared in 93 NHL games for the Rangers, Blue Jackets, Blackhawks and Maple Leafs, but was never able to earn a permanent spot on a 23-man roster. A move back to his native Sweden likely marks the end of Erixon's time in North America, while he figures to finish with two goals, 12 assists and 38 PIM in the NHL.

Tim Erixon: Let go by team

Tim Erixon was released from his professional tryout with the Devils on Tuesday.Unfortunately for Erixon, his greatest claim to fame may be the fact that he was part of the blockbuster trade that saw Phil Kessel shipped from Toronto to Pittsburgh. Since leaving the Leafs, the blueliner has not appeared in an NHL contest -- something that looks even less likely to happen now. The one-time first-round pick might need to return to the Swedish Hockey League, where he began his professional career back in 2007-08.

Devils' Tim Erixon: Agrees to tryout deal

Tim Erixon will be in training camp with New Jersey after signing a professional tryout agreement Thursday.Once a heralded prospect and a first-round pick of the Flames in 2009, Erixon has joined his sixth organization in what will be his seventh professional season in North America. Erixon won't have the steepest of competition as he tries to win a roster spot, but he'll have minimal impact from a fantasy standpoint even if he does find his way onto an NHL roster.

Tim Erixon: Not extended qualifying offer

Tim Erixon wasn't extended a qualifying offer by the Penguins and will become an unrestricted free agent, Jonathan Bombulie of the Tribune-Review reports.Erixon hasn't played in a game at the NHL level since 2014 and the Penguins didn't feel like he was in their plans for the future, so they'll let him test the open free agent market. Erixon will likely have to settle for a two-way contract elsewhere and could again see most of his time at the AHL level during the 2017 campaign.

Penguins' Tim Erixon: Agrees to contract with Pittsburgh

Tim Erixon signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday.Erixon failed to crack the lineup in 2015-16 and spent the entire season with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. While in the minors, the blueliner scored three goals along with 17 assists and 44 PIM. Fantasy owners will largely ignore this deal as the 25-year-old is unlikely to burst on the scene for the 2016-17 campaign and will continue being developed outside of the NHL.

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled Tim Erixon from AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Jenn Menendez of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. While Erixon is a well-rounded blueliner in the Pens' system, he doesn't play enough with the parent club to warrant serious consideration in most fantasy pools.

Penguins' Tim Erixon: Assigned to AHL on Thursday

The Pittsburgh Penguins assigned Tim Erixon to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.Erixon was sent to the AHL in order to make room for Bryan Rust on the Penguins 23-man roster. Rust will provide the team with additional depth up front while Beau Bennett works his way back from injury, so Erixon may be recalled by Pittsburgh once Bennett is ready to return to the Penguin's lineup.
