Brian Campbell: Returning to Chicago
Brian Campbell rejoined the Chicago Blackhawks by agreeing to a one-year contract Friday, Chris Kuc of the Chicago Tribune reports.Campbell originally put pen to paper on an eight-year deal with the Blackhawks valued at $7.1 million annually, which carried over to the Panthers in a straight-up trade for Rostislav Olesz in June of 2011. It's not clear at this point how much Campbell will earn under the new deal, but bringing the talented defender back to the Windy City on a short-term deal seems reasonable. The 37-year-old won a Stanley Cup with Chicago as part of the 2009-10 season, and earned the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy a season later for his sportsmanship. Campbell can still get it done for fantasy owners, as evidenced by his 31-point effort with the Panthers last season. Better yet, he hasn't missed a regular-season contest in three years.
