Bedard (shoulder) will begin the 2026-27 regular season on the injured non-roster list.
Bedard continues to recover from a shoulder procedure he underwent in early July. The expectation for the 21-year-old superstar is for him to rejoin the team sometime in November, barring any setbacks. When he's ready to return, he expected to lead the team offensively after posting 30 goals and 75 points across 69 regular-season games in 2025-26. He holds one of the highest ceilings across the NHL, and while he might not reach the 100-point mark in the upcoming campaign, he could post the necessary pace to reach that number across a full season upon his return. He should be placed on IR in all fantasy leagues that have a spot for it, otherwise he's a worthy bench stash until he's healthy.

Blackhawks' Dominic Toninato: Moves to waivers
Toninato was put on waivers Sunday, per PuckPedia.
Toninato notched 16 goals and 43 points in 52 regular-season games for AHL Rockford in 2025-26. If he clears waivers, he will likely return to Chicago's top minor-league affiliate for the start of the 2026-27 campaign.

Slaggert was placed on waivers by the Blackhawks on Sunday, Scott Powers of The Athletic reports.
Slaggert made a career-high 53 regular-season appearances at the NHL level with Chicago last year and recorded three goals, four assists, 79 hits, 24 blocked shots and 16 PIM while averaging 10:33 of ice time. He made 39 regular-season appearances for AHL Rockford during the 2024-25 campaign and will presumably head to the minors for the start of the 2026-27 regular season if he clears waivers.

Blackhawks' Spencer Knight: Earns preseason win over Blues
Knight stopped 29 of 31 shots in Saturday's 3-2 preseason win over the Blues.
Knight kept St. Louis scoreless for most of the first two periods while Chicago built a 3-0 advantage. Jonatan Berggren finally beat him with 56 seconds remaining in the second, and Colton Parayko cut the lead to one with an extra-attacker goal at 18:44 of the third. Knight held off the Blues' final push to finish with a .935 save percentage and earn his second win in as many preseason starts. He should open the regular season as the starter against the Golden Knights on Tuesday night.

Blackhawks' Jordan Greenway: Expected to play Tuesday
Greenway (lower body) is expected to play in Tuesday's regular-season opener against Vegas, Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Greenway returned to the ice for Saturday's practice after being day-to-day due to an injury. Moore agreed to a five-year, $21.25 million contract extension with the Blackhawks on Thursday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.
After making nine regular-season appearances with the Blackhawks during the 2024-25 campaign, Moore saw more regular playing time in the NHL last year, recording five goals, 14 assists, 25 hits, 19 PIM and 13 blocked shots while averaging 12:51 of playing time across 51 regular-season games. Bedard is expected to be sidelined until around November after undergoing shoulder surgery in July. Blackhawks' Bowen Byram: Hat trick hero in debut
Byram scored three goals, including the OT winner, placed five shots on net and recorded two hits in Monday's 4-3 overtime preseason win against the Wild.
In his first official appearance since signing a six-year, $75 million contract with Chicago, Byram found favor with his new fanbase by scoring a hat trick. He found the back of the net in the second and third periods before placing the puck five hole past Minnesota's Calvin Pickard in overtime to secure the exhibition win.
