    Justin Peters: Heading to Lativa

Justin Peters agreed to terms with Latvian club Dinamo Riga of the KHL on Friday.Peters saw action in just three contests last season with the Coyotes, but spent the bulk of the year in the minors between AHL Tucson and AHL Texas. The 30-year-old netminder -- who's most familiar with the Hurricanes' franchise -- has career numbers (3.08 GAA, 25-38-9 record) that show why he never landed a starting job in the NHL. It's hard to imagine the 30-year-old will work his way back to North America anytime soon.

Stars' Justin Peters: Added via trade with Arizona

Justin Peters was acquired from Arizona on Wednesday along with Justin Hache in exchange for Brendan Ranford and Branden Troock. While Peters does add some experienced organizational depth, his 3.08 career GAA in 83 NHL contests is unlikely to impress fantasy owners. In the AHL this season, the netminder's numbers are even worse -- a 5-6-0 record and 4.17 GAA. The 30-year-old figures to be assigned to AHL Texas; he'll probably only get called up if one of the Dallas Stars' current goalies picks up an injury.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Sent down to AHL

Justin Peters was reassigned to AHL Tucson on Thursday.Peters has spent a lot of time with the 'Yotes this season due to injuries to fellow netminders Mike Smith and Louis Domingue (lower body). With the latter having been activated off injured reserve, Peters will head back to the minors, where he'll likely spend the remainder of the year, barring additional injuries in goal.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Summoned from minors

Justin Peters was recalled from the minors Friday. The team is deeming this an emergency recall due to backup Louis Domingue suffering a lower-body injury, with a game on tap against the Oilers as early as Friday night. Peters presumably will back up Mike Smith in this next one.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Sent back to AHL

Justin Peters was reassigned Tuesday to the minors, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.Peters made three appearances during this NHL stint, two of which were in relief. The netminder posted a 3.16 GAA in those outings which will certainly not be enough to unseat Louis Domingue. Perhaps the most significant consideration surrounding Peters demotion is that it could be a sign that Mike Smith (lower body) is nearing a return.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Falters in relief Friday

Justin Peters replaced a struggling Louis Domingue in the second period of Friday's game against the Ducks, picking up 10 saves on 12 shots in the eventual 5-1 loss.Purely from a statistical standpoint, Peters was worse than Domingue in this one, though it was the latter taking the loss. Backup netminders are expected to be ready no matter when they're called upon, but Peters hasn't gotten the memo as he's looking at a 3.16 GAA between one start and three total appearances this campaign.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Surrenders four goals in losing effort

Justin Peters allowed four goals on 34 shots during Tuesday's loss to the Devils. The career backup had appeared in 81 previous games and posted a .901 save percentage, so his mediocre outing on Tuesday was in line with what should be expected from Peters. He's best viewed as a desperation fantasy option at this point.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Slated to make first start of season Tuesday

Justin Peters will start between the pipes in Tuesday's road game against the Devils.Peters was sharp in relief of Louis Domingue in Thursday's matchup with Montreal, stopping 23 of 24 shots after entering the game in the second period. The 30-year-old goaltender will be a high-risk, high-reward play in daily contests Tuesday, as he'll be taking on a Devils team that has averaged just 1.60 goals per game this season, last in the NHL. However, he hasn't started an NHL contest since he was with the Capitals in 2014-15.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Saves 23 in relief effort

Justin Peters saved 23 of 24 shots after replacing Louis Domingue in the second period of a 5-2 loss to the Canadiens.Domingue struggled mightily, giving up three goals to start the second period. Peters was recalled on Wednesday due to Mike Smith's lower-body injury and could see a few spot starts moving forward. However, the netminder is not one to target unless desperation calls.

Coyotes' Justin Peters: Summoned to parent club Wednesday

Justin Peters was called up to the Arizona Coyotes on Wednesday, Sarah McLellan of the Arizona Republic reports.Peters is needed by the parent club with starting backstop Mike Smith labeled day-to-day due to a lower-body ailment. He should be viewed as nothing more than an insurance policy for the Desert Dogs.
