Yakov Trenin C | MIN
Wild's Yakov Trenin: Status unclear for Game 5
Trenin (upper body) is questionable for Game 5 versus the Stars on Tuesday, per Joe Smith of The Athletic.
Trenin participated in Monday's practice, but a clearer picture of his availability could materialize after Tuesday's morning skate. He didn't have a point in two postseason outings against Dallas before missing the past two games, but he has registered 16 hits and two blocked shots.

Tyson Kozak C | BUF
Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Probable for Game 5
Kozak (undisclosed) is probable for Tuesday's Game 5 against the Bruins, Heather Engel of NHL.com reports.
Kozak exited Sunday's 6-1 victory in Game 4 due to an unspecified injury. Head coach Lindy Ruff said after the game that the team talked about Kozak returning, so it isn't very surprising that the 23-year-old will likely be able to suit up Tuesday as the Sabres attempt to close out the first-round series. Across his first two postseason appearances this year, he's recorded an assist, four hits and two blocked shots while averaging 9:47 of ice time.

Josh Norris C | BUF
Sabres' Josh Norris: Might play Tuesday
Norris (undisclosed) could be an option for Game 5 versus the Bruins on Tuesday after head coach Lindy Ruff told reporters, "Norris is going to skate (Monday). He could be available."
Norris has missed the Sabres' last two playoff contests due to his undisclosed injury. While he failed to produce a point in his first two postseason contests, the 26-year-old center had 13 goals and 21 assists in 44 regular-season outings this year. If Norris can return for Game 5, it would likely be in a middle-six role.

Nicolas Roy C | COL
Avalanche's Nicolas Roy: Extends point streak
Roy scored a goal in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference first round.
Roy has cracked the scoresheet in each of the last three games, earning three points (two goals, one assist), three shots on goal, five hits and three blocked shots. Don't expect Roy to have a big role on offense in the rest of the playoffs, though, as he figures to remain in a bottom-six role until further notice.

Nathan MacKinnon C | COL
Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Three points in win Sunday
MacKinnon had two goals, including one on the power play, and an assist in Sunday's 5-1 win over the Kings in Game 4 of the Western Conference first round.
MacKinnon had accrued just one assist and seven shots on goal in the first three games of the series combined, but he woke up in Game 4. His five shots on goal were a personal best in the current playoff run, and he got involved in three of the team's five goals in Sunday's win. MacKinnon should be critical for the Avalanche's success throughout the rest of the playoffs as the opponents get tougher.

Anze Kopitar C | LA
Kings' Anze Kopitar: Retirement official
Kopitar's 20-year NHL career came to a close Sunday, per the NHLPA.
The Kings were swept in the first round of the 2026 playoffs by the Avalanche on Sunday. Kopitar retires as the Kings' all-time scoring leader, having amassed 1,316 points in 1,521 regular-season games. He also added 27 tallies and 62 assists in 107 playoff outings while leading the team to two Stanley Cup championships in 2012 and 2014.

Jason Dickinson C | EDM
Oilers' Jason Dickinson: Adds helper in return
Dickinson notched an assist and two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks in Game 4.
Dickinson's clearly not 100 percent, as he's missed five of the last seven games due to a suspected lower-body injury. The 30-year-old has picked up three points, four shots on net, three blocked shots and a plus-2 rating over his two playoff appearances, but his absence has diminished the Oilers' center depth. They're facing elimination in Game 5 on Tuesday, so Dickinson may need to play through the issue some more to keep the season going.

Connor McDavid C | EDM
Oilers' Connor McDavid: Deals two assists in Game 4
McDavid notched two power-play assists and three shots on goal in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks in Game 4.
McDavid picked up four points over two games in Anaheim, but the Oilers lost both of those contests and are down 3-1 in the series. The superstar center has earned 13 shots on net, five hits and a minus-6 rating over four playoff outings this year. McDavid will likely need to put the team on his back at home in Game 5 to keep the season alive.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins C | EDM
Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Finds twine on power play
Nugent-Hopkins scored a power-play goal and blocked two shots in Sunday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Ducks in Game 4.
Nugent-Hopkins has gotten on the scoresheet in the last three games, earning two goals and an assist. That's all of his offense this postseason, and he's added four shots on net, four blocked shots, three hits and a minus-1 rating over four contests in this first-round series. The Oilers have tried a few different line combinations -- Nugent-Hopkins started this game on the third line after previously playing on the top line -- but they haven't been able to keep pace with the Ducks most of the time.

Ryan Poehling C | ANA
Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Squeaks game-winner over line
Poehling scored the game-winning goal on three shots and added two hits in Sunday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers in Game 4.
Tristan Jarry got a piece of Poehling's shot, but not enough of it. The call on the ice was no goal, but video review was deemed conclusive enough to say the puck was just over the line -- though it was close. The overtime winner will go down as one of the biggest goals of Poehling's career to date. He's tallied three times on seven shots, blocked three shots, doled out four hits and posted a plus-2 rating over four outings this postseason. The 27-year-old continues to handle a heavy defensive load, and he's done well to help the Ducks gain a 3-1 lead in the series.
