  • Bruins' Jeremy Swayman: Tending twine Thursday

Swayman will patrol the home crease versus Buffalo in Game 3 on Thursday.

Swayman played quite well in Buffalo, allowing five goals on 72 shots (.931 save percentage) as Boston split the first two games of the series. Swayman was 31-18-4 with a 2.71 GAA and a .907 save percentage across 55 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. The Sabres were fifth in NHL scoring during the regular season, generating 3.44 goals per game.

  • Hurricanes' Frederik Andersen: Slated to start Thursday

Andersen is expected to defend the road cage in Ottawa on Thursday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.

Andersen has been sharp in the opening two games of the playoffs, allowing two goals on 61 shots in a pair of wins over Ottawa. The netminder is on a four-game winning streak dating back to the regular season and has taken over the No. 1 job in Carolina from rookie Brandon Bussi. The Senators were eighth in NHL scoring during the regular season, averaging 3.35 goals per game, a far cry from the 1.00 goals per game they are generating in the playoffs.

  • Lightning's Brandon Halverson: Sent down Thursday

Halverson was reassigned to AHL Syracuse on Thursday.

Halverson was called up by the Lightning on Sunday to provide additional depth for the Stanley Cup Playoffs. He didn't appear in either of the team's first two postseason matchups, and he'll head back to the AHL ahead of the Calder Cup Playoffs. Harrison Meneghin was called up Thursday in a corresponding move to replace Halverson on Tampa Bay's roster.

  • Dan Vladar G | PHI

Flyers' Dan Vladar: Sharp in Game 3 win

Vladar made 28 saves Wednesday during the Flyers' 5-2 win over the Penguins in Game 3 of their first-round series.

Both Pittsburgh goals came on power plays in the first and third periods, as Vladar was a wall at even strength to help propel Philly to the verge of a series sweep. The 28-year-old netminder has a dazzling 1.33 GAA and .947 save percentage to begin his postseason run, and he'll look to finish the job on home ice Saturday in Game 4 and punch the Flyers' tickets to the second round.

  • Penguins' Stuart Skinner: Flops in Philly

Skinner stopped 24 of 28 shots Wednesday during the Penguins' 5-2 loss to the Flyers in Game 3 of their first-round series. Philadelphia's final goal was scored into an empty net.

Pittsburgh took a 1-0 lead into the first intermission, but Skinner let it slip away in a shaky second period that saw him give up three goals on 15 shots. With the Penguins facing elimination in Game 4 on Saturday and Skinner carrying a 3.08 GAA and .873 save percentage while losing the first three games of the series, coach Dam Muse may have to consider switching to Arturs Silvos between the pipes to try and spark a comeback.

  • Wild's Jesper Wallstedt: Loses in double-overtime

Wallstedt stopped 32 of 36 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 double-overtime loss to the Stars in Game 3.

Wallstedt lost for the second game in a row and has allowed eight goals on 85 shots over three playoff contests. It's hard to pin this loss on him -- the difference was in special teams, where the Stars were able to cash in on three power plays, including with the decisive goal by Wyatt Johnston 12:10 into the second overtime. Wallstedt's strong play down the stretch earned him the top goaltending job to begin the postseason, but the Wild can't afford to go down 3-1 in the series. That could lead to a rested Filip Gustavsson getting a look in Game 4 on Saturday, though the Wild have yet to reveal their plans.

  • Stars' Jake Oettinger: Prevails in double overtime

Oettinger stopped 28 of 31 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 double-overtime win over the Wild in Game 3.

The Wild had a lot of pressure but didn't turn it into many shots. Oettinger still had to be sharp, and he was, helping to kill off five Minnesota power plays in the third period and overtime. Oettinger had allowed 10 goals on 89 shots over three in this first-round series, but his performance Wednesday put the Stars up 2-1. He'll have an extra day to rest ahead of Saturday's Game 4.

  • Oilers' Connor Ingram: Yields five goals in loss

Ingram allowed five goals on 27 shots in Wednesday's 6-4 loss to the Ducks in Game 2. The sixth goal was an empty-netter.

Ingram was unable to stop the Ducks' special teams -- they scored twice on the power play and once while shorthanded. With eight goals allowed on 55 shots over the first two games of this first-round series, Ingram has not been at his best. Still, the Oilers haven't shown a lot of trust in Tristan Jarry's performance, so a goaltending change isn't imminent, though the team hasn't yet revealed who will get the nod in Game 3 on Friday in Anaheim.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Evens series in Game 2

Dostal stopped 33 of 37 shots in Wednesday's 6-4 win over the Oilers in Game 2.

The Oilers rarely let the Ducks get much breathing room, but Dostal was able to protect a lead over the last five minutes of the game. This was Dostal's second career playoff game and first win, though he has allowed eight goals on 71 shots over the first two contests of this series. Still, he's unlikely to get bumped from the No. 1 job in goal, especially if the Ducks can give him enough support to keep things close. Game 3 is in Anaheim on Friday.

  • Trent Miner G | COL

Avalanche's Trent Miner: Posts shutout Wednesday

Miner logged an 18-save shutout in AHL Colorado's 3-0 win over San Diego in Game 1 on Wednesday.

Miner earned his first AHL playoff shutout with this effort. The goalie went 17-8-5 with a 2.62 GAA and a .904 save percentage over 32 regular-season appearances. Isak Posch is serving as the Avalanche's third goalie in the NHL postseason, so Miner should see the bulk of the starts for the Eagles while their playoff run is active.
