  • Tommy Novak C | PIT

Penguins' Thomas Novak: Goal, assist in win

Novak scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Novak earned his first multi-point effort since Dec. 16. The 28-year-old is building chemistry centering Anthony Mantha and Justin Brazeau, though Novak is a placeholder in that spot until Evgeni Malkin (upper body) can return. Novak has contributed seven goals, 13 assists, 57 shots on net and a plus-1 rating through 38 outings this season.

  • Sam Reinhart C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Reinhart: Extends point streak to six games

Reinhart scored a goal on five shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Canadiens.

Reinhart has five goals and six assists during his six-game point streak. His tally briefly put the Panthers ahead 2-0, but goals by Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki sent the game to overtime, where Suzuki scored again to complete the Canadiens' late comeback. Despite the loss, Reinhart continues to surge as the Panthers' top overall player. He has 22 goals, 21 assists, 104 shots on net, 35 hits, 26 blocked shots and a minus-6 rating over 39 appearances this season. After missing the 40-goal mark by one in the 2024-25 regular season, he has a good chance to get back to that level this year.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Set to miss extended time

Joshua (upper body) is expected to miss a significant amount of time, Anna Dua of Sportsnet reports Wednesday.

Although the Maple Leafs have returned to Toronto, Joshua is still in Detroit after sustaining a kidney injury during Sunday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Red Wings. He has six goals, 10 points, 25 PIM and 127 hits in 36 appearances this season. Calle Jarnkrok might play regularly while Joshua is unavailable.

  • Hurricanes' Mark Jankowski: Scores in loss vs. Pittsburgh

Jankowski scored a goal and took two shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Penguins.

Jankowski posted his second goal of the season with a wrister late in the second period, and that goal prevented Stuart Skinner from securing a shutout. Jankowski has two goals and four assists in 28 games this season. The 31-year-old center, who plays in a bottom-six role in the lineup, doesn't produce enough in fantasy to warrant consideration in most standard formats.

  • Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Point streak reaches four games

Crosby notched a goal and took three shots in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Crosby has found the scoresheet in the Penguins' last four games, tallying two goals and three assists in that span. The star playmaker is ending the calendar year on a strong note and is putting up outstanding numbers of late with 13 points (five goals, eight assists) in 14 games in December.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Two goals including OT winner

Suzuki scored two goals, one the game-winner in overtime on the power play, in Tuesday's 3-2 victory over the Panthers.

With Montreal down 2-1 late in the third period, Suzuki went short side on a flustered Daniil Tarasov to tie it, before sliding the puck into a wide-open cage in OT after a slick feed from Lane Hutson. Suzuki puts an impressive December in the books having racked up six goals and 16 points in 15 games, and he remains on track to top 90 points in a season for the first time in his career.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Not expected to play

Monahan (undisclosed) isn't expected to play against New Jersey on Wednesday, according to Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.

Monahan was a late scratch for Monday's 4-1 win over Ottawa for maintenance purposes, and it looks like he will miss his second straight game. Despite playing through an injury for most of the season, he has contributed five goals, 19 points, 65 shots on net and 24 hits through 37 appearances.

  • David Kampf C | WAS

Canucks' David Kampf: Collects two points

Kampf scored a goal, added an assist and logged two hits in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Flyers.

Kampf was scratched Monday in Seattle before returning to a third-line role Tuesday. The 30-year-old won't have to play above his skill level too much now that Elias Pettersson is back from an upper-body injury, which has given the Canucks more respectable center depth. Kampf has a mere three points with 14 shots on net, 15 hits, 11 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 18 appearances this season.

  • Flyers' Trevor Zegras: Supplies pair of assists

Zegras notched two assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Canucks.

Zegras has been remarkably consistent in December, getting on the scoresheet in 12 of 14 games this month. He's earned six goals and nine assists over that span. The 24-year-old forward is up to 15 goals, 24 helpers, 85 shots on net, 30 PIM and a plus-2 rating through 37 appearances. Zegras' top-line role and spot on the first power-play unit appear secure, and that makes him a reliable fantasy producer as he cashes in on the promise he showed in 2021-22 and 2022-23.

  • Flyers' Christian Dvorak: Fills empty cage

Dvorak scored an empty-net goal on five shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Canucks.

Dvorak had the second of the Flyers' empty-netters to fend off the Canucks' late push. The 29-year-old center has scored twice over his last four games, and he's up to nine goals and 25 points over 37 outings this season. He's added 70 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, 16 hits and a plus-8 rating while primarily playing in a top-six role. Dvorak's offense is on a career-best pace, and he's doing that with inconsistent and limited power-play time.
