  • Bruins' Mark Kastelic: Expected to play Thursday

Kastelic (lower body) is set to play Thursday against Utah.

Kastelic missed Monday's 5-1 loss to Columbus due to the injury. He has three goals, seven points, 24 PIM and 75 hits in 19 appearances in 2024-25. Kastelic's offensive contributions came early in the campaign -- he has just a goal and an assist across his past 15 outings -- and he's projected to center the fourth line Thursday, so Kastelic isn't a great source of points.

  • Noah Gregor C | OTT

Senators' Noah Gregor: Set to miss another game

Gregor (undisclosed) has been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Golden Knights.

Gregor will be unavailable for a third consecutive game due to his undisclosed injury. It's not yet clear when the Senators expect him to return, but his next chance to do so will be at home against the Canucks on Saturday. Over 16 appearances this year, Gregor has logged two goals, three points and 34 hits while averaging 13:07 of ice time.

  • Filip Chytil C | NYR

    Rangers' Filip Chytil: Unavailable Thursday

Chytil (upper body) will not play Thursday in Calgary, according to Vince Z. Mercogliano of USA Today.

Chytil was expected to skate after morning practice Thursday. Thursday's tilt will be the third game in a row that the 25-year-old will sit out. Chytil has four goals and five assists in 15 games after missing 72 regular-season matchups last year with an upper-body injury. The injury-prone center hopes to return to action Saturday in Edmonton.

  • Oskar Back C | DAL

Stars' Oskar Back: Posts assist in win

Back logged an assist in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Sharks.

Back has three points over his last four games. The 24-year-old has received a steady run of playing time in a stretch where Colin Blackwell and Mavrik Bourque have been healthy scratches. Back is likely to peak at the fourth line. He has four points, 10 shots on net, nine hits and a plus-1 rating through 13 appearances this season.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

Oilers' Zach Hyman: Likely out 4-7 days

Head coach Kris Knoblauch said Thursday that he expects Hyman (undisclosed) to miss 4-7 days, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.

Hyman had already been ruled out for Thursday's game against the Wild, and he'll presumably miss Saturday's matchup against the Rangers as well. However, the Oilers have a sizable layoff before facing Utah on Nov. 29, so it wouldn't be surprising to see Hyman back on the ice late next week.

  • T.J. Tynan C | COL

Avalanche's T.J. Tynan: Back in AHL

Tynan was reassigned to AHL Colorado on Thursday.

Tynan was a healthy scratch in the Avalanche's only game since being recalled Nov. 17. The 32-year-old journeyman has one assist in seven NHL games this season. Tynan had seven assists in eight AHL games before his recall.

  • Jordan Staal C | CAR

Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Scores in Wednesday's win

Staal scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.

Staal continued his recent success with a third-period tally. He has two goals, five assists and a plus-6 rating over his last seven contests as the Hurricanes continue to get production from the third line. The center has a total of eight points with 20 shots on net, 20 hits and a plus-9 rating through 18 outings overall.

  • Hurricanes' Jack Roslovic: Tacks on insurance goal

Roslovic scored a goal on two shots and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Flyers.

Roslovic had nine goals through the first 12 contests of the season, but his offense turned cold during a five-game slump. He snapped that drought with a third-period tally Wednesday. The 27-year-old winger is still seeing top-line minutes at even strength, though he was limited to 12:33 of ice time against the Flyers. He's now at 10 goals, one assist, 46 shots on net and a plus-5 rating through 18 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' Mikael Granlund: Playing against Blues

Granlund (upper body) will be in action to face St. Louis on Thursday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports.

Granlund will avoid missing any time after being injured in Wednesday's matchup with Dallas. The 32-year-old center is riding a three-game point streak while racking up three goals and five assists in his last seven outings. With Granlund fully fit, he figures to maintain his first-line role alongside William Eklund and Fabian Zetterlund.

  • Zach Hyman C | EDM

Oilers' Zach Hyman: Won't play versus Wild

Hyman (undisclosed) will be out of action against Minnesota on Thursday, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports.

Hyman will miss out Thursday while mired in a six-game goal drought during which he put 15 shots on net. After putting up 77 points in 80 regular-season games last year, Hyman is struggling to produce at that level in 2024-25 and is currently on pace to barely break the 30-point threshold. An extended injury absence certainly won't improve his chances of stringing together points.
