Denton Mateychuk D | CLB
Blue Jackets' Denton Mateychuk: Might be cleared later this week
Mateychuk (upper body) didn't participate in Monday's practice, but the hope is that the blueliner is cleared to return at some point later this week, per Aaron Portzline of The Athletic.
Given this latest update on Mateychuk's status, the 21-year-old probably won't be available until at least Saturday's home matchup against the Lightning. Mateychuk sustained his upper-body injury Jan. 11 in Utah and has missed three consecutive contests as a result. The 2022 first-round pick has provided decent fantasy utility in his second NHL campaign, generating eight goals, 13 helpers, 63 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 44 appearances.

Niko Mikkola D | FLA
Panthers' Niko Mikkola: Suffers injury against San Jose
Mikkola sustained an undisclosed injury during Monday's 4-1 loss to the Sharks, and there was no update on his status postgame, Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site reports.
Mikkola posted two hits and a minus-3 rating in 12:36 of ice time prior to departing the game. Olive noted that the Panthers are off Tuesday, so an update on Mikkola's status should be available Wednesday. The Panthers will begin a three-game road trip in Winnipeg on Thursday.

Brayden McNabb D | LV
Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb: Expected to be out through Olympics
General manager Kelly McCrimmon conveyed Monday that McNabb (upper body) isn't scheduled to return to the lineup until after the 2026 Winter Olympics, per SinBin.vegas.
McNabb was classified as week-to-week at the beginning of January and landed on injured reserve shortly thereafter. The left-shot blueliner has missed nine straight games and likely won't be back in the lineup until Feb. 25 in Los Angeles at the earliest.

Elias Salomonsson D | WPG
Jets' Elias Salomonsson: Under the weather
Salomonsson isn't available for Monday's game in Chicago because of an illness, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Isaak Phillips will make his 2025-26 debut on the third pairing due to Salomonsson's illness. Salomonsson's next chance to suit up will be in the second half of a back-to-back Tuesday at home versus the Blues.

Simon Benoit D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Simon Benoit: In lineup against Minnesota
Benoit (upper body) is returning to the lineup for Monday's home contest against the Wild, according to Terry Koshan of The Toronto Sun.
Benoit will draw back into the lineup in a third-pairing capacity following a brief two-game absence. Due to the 27-year-old's return to game action, Philippe Myers will be a healthy scratch Monday.

Jaycob Megna D | LV
Golden Knights' Jaycob Megna: Elevated from AHL
Megna was recalled from AHL Henderson on Monday.
This will be Megna's fourth stint with the big club this season -- he's played three games for the Golden Knights and 27 for the Silver Knights. Rasmus Andersson (not injury related) isn't available for Monday's matchup against the Flyers, which resulted in Megna being promoted from the minors. The 33-year-old Megna will probably head back to the AHL once Andersson is ready to play for Vegas.

Rasmus Andersson D | LV
Golden Knights' Rasmus Andersson: Won't make Vegas debut Monday
Andersson (not injury related) will not suit up against the Flyers on Monday, SinBin.vegas reports.
Andersson isn't available to make his debut with the Golden Knights on Monday due to immigration issues. To help cover for the absence of Andersson against the Flyers, Jaycob Megna was recalled from AHL Henderson on Monday. Andersson's next opportunity to draw into the lineup will be in Boston on Thursday, when Vegas kicks off a four-game road trip.

Ethan Bear D | NYI
Islanders' Ethan Bear: Compiles three helpers in AHL win
Bear logged three assists in AHL Bridgeport's 6-2 win over Lehigh Valley on Monday.
Bear is rolling for Bridgeport with a goal and five assists over his first five games of the season. He cleared waivers Dec. 29 after beginning the season with an undisclosed injury that cost him three months of playing time. The 28-year-old defenseman will be given plenty of time to get up to speed, and if he plays well, he could be a call-up option for the Islanders.

Carson Soucy D | NYI
Rangers' Carson Soucy: Back with team
Soucy (personal) has returned to the team but won't play against Anaheim on Monday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Soucy missed Saturday's 6-3 win over Philadelphia due to a personal matter. He hasn't skated for the past three days, and he will get at least Monday's game off rather than jumping back into the lineup. Soucy has three goals, eight points, 35 shots on net, 63 blocked shots and 68 hits through 44 outings this campaign.

Seth Jones D | FLA
Panthers' Seth Jones: Shifts to LTIR
Jones (upper body) was moved from regular IR to long-term injured reserve Monday, per PuckPedia.
Placing Jones on LTIR counters activating Matthew Tkachuk (groin) from LTIR in terms of the cap implications. Jones was already believed to be week-to-week, and this move further cements the reality that the defenseman isn't close to returning. Jones has six goals and 24 points in 40 appearances in 2025-26. He last played Jan. 2.
