Maxence Guenette D | PHI
Senators' Maxence Guenette: Recalled from minors
Guenette was elevated from AHL Belleville on Tuesday.
Guenette has seen action in just eight NHL games over the previous two seasons, generating zero points, eight shots, and seven blocks while averaging 13:10 of ice time. The 23-year-old blueliner has been slightly more productive in the minors this year, registering three goals and six helpers in 27 games for Belleville. The decision to call up Guenette from the minors doesn't bode well for the availability of Jacob Bernard-Docker (lower body) after he was helped off the ice Monday.

Niko Mikkola D | FLA
Panthers' Niko Mikkola: Not ready to return
Mikkola (upper body) won't play Monday in Colorado, according to Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Mikkola was a game-time decision heading into Monday's game, but he'll miss a fifth consecutive contest after not taking the ice in warmups. The 6-foot-4 blueliner was able to practice Sunday, so he seems to be nearing a return. Florida's next game will be against Utah on Wednesday.

Aaron Ekblad D | FLA
Panthers' Aaron Ekblad: Won't play in Colorado
Ekblad (undisclosed) won't suit up in Monday's road game versus the Avalanche, per Jameson Olive of the Panthers' official site.
Ekblad will miss his first game of the season Monday. Dmitry Kulikov will skate alongside Gustav Forsling on the No. 1 pair, and with Niko Mikkola (upper body) also unavailable, Tobias Bjornfot will make his 2024-25 debut. Ekblad's next chance to suit up will be Wednesday in Utah.

Quinn Hughes D | MIN
Canucks' Quinn Hughes: Suiting up Monday
Hughes (undisclosed) took the ice for the pregame skate, indicating he'll be in the lineup Monday in Montreal, Thomas Drance of The Athletic reports.
Hughes will avoid missing his fifth consecutive game, and it comes at the right time as the Canucks are kicking off a five-game road trip Monday. The all-world blueliner will occupy his usual spot on the top pairing in addition to quarterbacking the No. 1 power-play unit. Guillaume Brisebois will come out of the lineup as a result of Hughes' return.

Jacob Bryson D | WPG
Sabres' Jacob Bryson: Not playing Monday
Bryson (illness) will not be available Monday versus the Capitals, according to Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News.
Bryson will miss his second straight game due to the illness. The left-shot blueliner was not present at Monday morning's skate, per Bill Hoppe of the Olean Times Herald. Bryson's next chance to suit up will be on the road Thursday against the Senators.

Jared Spurgeon D | MIN
Wild's Jared Spurgeon: Lands on IR
Spurgeon (lower body) was designated for injured reserve Monday.
Spurgeon is expected to be on the shelf for 2-3 weeks due to his lower-body injury, so his placement on injured reserve shouldn't come as a surprise. With the extra roster spot, the Wild called up Carson Lambos from AHL Iowa to serve as an emergency depth option -- though it figures to be Travis Dermott who sees the biggest uptick in ice time with Spurgeon shelved.
-
David Savard D | MON
Canadiens' David Savard: Won't play Monday
Savard (upper body) has been ruled out for Monday's game against the Canucks.
Savard continues to deal with an upper-body injury, and he'll be unavailable for a third consecutive matchup. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return to the lineup, but Jayden Struble should continue to see playing time while Savard is out.

Jake McCabe D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Jake McCabe: Surfaces on IR
McCabe (upper body) was placed on injured reserve Monday.
Toronto recalled Marshall Rifai from the minors in a corresponding move. McCabe will miss at least the next three games, starting with Tuesday's matchup against Philadelphia. He sustained the injury late in the first period of Sunday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers. Due to McCabe's absence, Conor Timmins or Rifai will enter Tuesday's lineup. The 31-year-old McCabe has 10 assists, 11 points, 37 shots on goal, 68 blocked shots and 72 hits through 36 appearances this season.

Marshall Rifai D | TOR
Maple Leafs' Marshall Rifai: Recalled from minors
Rifai was elevated from AHL Toronto on Monday.
Rifai's promotion comes as Jake McCabe (upper body) was placed on injured reserve in a corresponding move. Even with his promotion, the 26-year-old Rifai is far from a lock to suit up against the Flyers on Tuesday, as Conor Timmins likely has the inside track for a spot in the lineup.
