Gibson will make his second straight start and fourth in the last six games. He missed the first month of the season recovering from an appendectomy before returning to action Nov. 10 against the Blue Jackets. The veteran netminder is 3-0-0 and has given up eight goals on 85 shots (.906 save percentage) since returning to full health. Gibson will face the Sabres, who are averaging 3.21 goals per game.

  • Petr Mrazek G | CHI

Blackhawks' Petr Mrazek: Slated to start Saturday

Mrazek is slated to defend the road crease in Philadelphia on Saturday, according to Ben Pope of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Mrazek was outstanding Thursday, as he turned aside 32 shots in a 3-1 win over Florida. The victory gave Mrazek a 6-8-0 record to go with a 2.66 GAA and a .911 save percentage, as he has provided the Blackhawks with excellent goaltending this season. The Flyers are 21st in the NHL in scoring, averaging 2.70 goals per game.

  • Flyers' Aleksei Kolosov: Facing Blackhawks

Kolosov will be between the home pipes versus Chicago on Saturday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Kolosov gave up three goals on 29 shots in a 3-2 loss to Colorado on Monday. The young netminder is 0-4-0 with a 3.72 GAA and an .872 save percentage this season. He should be sent to the minors upon the return of Samuel Ersson (lower body), who should return to action at some point in the next seven days. The Blackhawks are averaging 2.35 goals per game.

  • Cam Talbot G | DET

Red Wings' Cam Talbot: Starting Saturday

Talbot will defend the home crease versus Boston on Saturday, according to Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press.

Talbot has struggled slightly in his last two games, allowing eight goals on 74 shots (.894 save percentage). The 37-year-old netminder is 5-3-2 with a 2.67 GAA and a .920 save percentage over 11 appearances in 2024-25. The Bruins are the second-lowest scoring team in the NHL, averaging a paltry 2.33 goals per game.

  • Penguins' Tristan Jarry: Between pipes Friday

Jarry will defend the home crease versus Winnipeg on Friday, according to Penguins play-by-play announcer Josh Getzoff.

Jarry will make his second straight start and third in the last four games as Alex Nedeljkovic will once again watch from the bench. It has not been a good season at the NHL level for Jarry as he is 1-2-1 with a 4.72 GAA and an .863 save percentage in five appearances. It won't get any easier Friday as Jarry will face the Jets, who are the best team in the NHL with a 16-3-0 record.

  • Devils' Jacob Markstrom: Bounces back vs. Carolina

Markstrom stopped 20 of 22 shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Hurricanes.

Markstrom got back to winning ways after his disappointing effort in the 4-0 loss to the Lightning on Nov. 16, and he's won in four of his last five outings. During that five-game stretch, the 34-year-old Swede netminder has gone 4-1-0 with a 2.40 GAA and a .906 save percentage.

  • Hurricanes' Spencer Martin: Concedes four goals Thursday

Martin stopped 17 of 21 shots in Thursday's 4-2 loss to the Devils.

Martin made his third start of the season, and while that's a small sample size to draw conclusions, he's been all over the place. He recorded a 24-save shutout win over the Senators on Nov. 16, but he gave up at least four goals in the other two starts. Through four total appearances, as he also worked in relief against Utah on Nov. 13, he's gone 1-2-0 with a 3.25 GAA and an .868 save percentage.

  • Sharks' Yaroslav Askarov: Solid in 2024-25 debut

Askarov made 29 saves on 31 shots in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to the Blues.

Askarov got off to a less-than-ideal start in his debut with the Sharks, allowing a goal just 11 seconds into the contest, but he settled in as the game went along. The 22-year-old currently has a chance to earn a role in the crease while Vitek Vanecek tends to an upper-body injury. Askarov inked a two-year deal with San Jose after being acquired in a trade from Nashville in August. Through four NHL appearances, the 22-year-old is 1-1-1 with a 2.38 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Earns victory Thursday

Binnington turned aside 22 of 24 shots in Thursday's 3-2 shootout win over the Sharks.

Binnington allowed two goals, one on the power play, to Alexander Wennberg in the win. The Blues were mere seconds away from a 2-1 victory, but San Jose was able to tie the game at 19:51 of the third period. The 31-year-old Binnington moved into a tie for St. Louis' all-time record in wins (151) with Mike Liut. Binnington is sporting a 6-8-1 record, .888 save percentage and 3.10 GAA through 16 appearances.

  • Jets' Connor Hellebuyck: Facing Penguins

Hellebuyck will patrol the road crease in Pittsburgh on Friday, Mitchell Clinton of the Jets' official site reports.

Hellebuyck is off to a great start, going 13-2-0 with a sparkling 2.20 GAA and a very impressive .923 save percentage. Hellebuyck is the early favorite for the Vezina Trophy as he tries to become the first netminder since Martin Brodeur in 2006-07 and 2007-08, to go back-to-back. He will face the Penguins, who are tallying 2.67 goals per game.
