  • Kings' Jacob Moverare: Bags apple in win

Moverare notched an assist, two PIM and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.

The helper was Moverare's first point of the campaign. The 26-year-old has been a regular in the lineup over the last month, and it helps that the Kings are using seven defensemen. That said, he's playing in a third-pairing role, averaging 12:20 of ice time per game. He's added 10 shots on net, 16 hits, 20 blocked shots, two PIM and a plus-1 rating through 14 appearances.

  • Kings' Jordan Spence: Provides two helpers

Spence notched two assists, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.

Spence is rolling on offense with a goal and five assists over his last eight outings. Thursday marked his first multi-point effort of the season. The 23-year-old blueliner is up to two goals, eight helpers, 34 shots on net, 39 blocked shots, 29 hits, 14 PIM and a plus-7 rating over 31 contests. He does a little of everything and should be rostered in deep fantasy formats.

  • Kings' Vladislav Gavrikov: Another two-assist game

Gavrikov logged two assists and four blocked shots in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.

Gavrikov has logged back-to-back two-assist efforts to end a five-game slump. The 29-year-old defenseman continues to see big minutes on the top pairing alongside Mikey Anderson, but they form more of a shutdown duo than a significant scoring threat. Gavrikov has 15 points, 39 shots on net, 67 blocked shots and a plus-17 rating through 32 appearances, putting him on pace for a career year. That level of production is worth considering in fantasy, though the rest of the Kings' blueliners figure to take a drop in value once Drew Doughty (ankle) makes his season debut at some point in January.

  • John Gibson G | ANA

    Ducks' John Gibson: Facing Avalanche

Gibson will be between the home pipes versus Colorado on Friday, Derek Lee of The Hockey News reports.

Gibson halted a three-game losing streak Saturday as he turned aside 39 shots in a 4-3 victory in Columbus. Gibson is 5-4-1 with a 3.00 GAA and a .906 save percentage across 10 outings this season. The Avalache are averaging 3.26 goals per game in 2024-25, which ranks ninth in the NHL.

  • Kings' Tanner Jeannot: Lights lamp Thursday

Jeannot scored a goal, added two PIM, logged two hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.

Jeannot was active again Thursday. He's turned a corner in December, earning four points over seven contests, compared to just three points over the first two months of the season. The winger is at four goals, three assists, 28 shots on net, 86 hits and 51 PIM through 29 appearances. Jeannot appears to be benefiting from the extra ice that comes with the Kings' reliance on playing 11 forwards and seven defensemen.

  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Fills empty cage

Byfield scored an empty-net goal on four shots, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Flyers.

Byfield may be warming up -- he has two goals on nine shots and one assist over his last three games. Prior to that stretch, he had three points and 16 shots over a 14-game span. The 22-year-old has taken a step back in 2024-25 while trying to establish himself as a center after finding success on the wing last season. He's at 14 points, 58 shots, 29 hits and an even plus-minus rating through 32 contests this year.

  • Blue Jackets' Mathieu Olivier: Pockets assist in win

Olivier notched an assist, two shots on goal, three hits, four blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Devils.

Olivier led the Blue Jackets' forwards with 20:23 of ice time Thursday, which was easily a season high. The 27-year-old winger has been a key part of Columbus' depth, playing mainly on the third line. He's earned three points, 13 PIM and 34 hits over his last eight games. For the season, he's at 13 points, 40 shots, 60 PIM, 118 hits, 37 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 33 appearances.

  • Josh Manson D | COL

Avalanche's Josh Manson: Won't play Friday

Manson (upper body) has been ruled out for Friday's game against Anaheim, Brennan Vogt of Mile High Hockey reports.

There was some hope that Manson could return during Colorado's three-game road trip this week, but he'll remain sidelined for the final matchup of the trip. His last chance to return before the NHL's Christmas break will be Sunday against the Kraken, but it's unclear whether he'll suit up for that contest.

  • Blue Jackets' Zach Aston-Reese: Slings helper in win

Aston-Reese logged an assist, two shots on goal and two blocked shots in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Devils.

Aston-Reese has three helpers over his last eight contests. The 30-year-old doesn't stand out in many ways, but he's been steady enough to play on the third line for much of the campaign. He's now at 11 points, 48 shots on net, 76 hits, 24 blocked shots and a minus-1 rating over 32 appearances.

  • Blue Jackets' Ivan Provorov: Finds twine in Thursday's win

Provorov scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Thursday's 4-2 win over the Devils.

Provorov has five points, 13 shots on net and 11 blocked shots over 11 contests in December. He's remained on the second pairing throughout the season and has also picked up some power-play time recently. Provorov is up to 12 points, 43 shots on net, 42 blocks and a plus-1 rating through 33 appearances.
