  • Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Earns one of each Wednesday

Pageau scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, logged three hits and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Pageau has four goals and two assists over his last six outings. The 33-year-old center can find bursts of offense at times, so he's worth considering in deeper fantasy formats. Overall, he's at 11 goals, 23 points, 47 shots on net, 62 hits, 41 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating through 45 games.

  • Ondrej Palat LW | NYI

Islanders' Ondrej Palat: Two points in team debut

Palat scored a power-play goal on two shots, added an assist and logged two hits in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Palat was traded to the Islanders from the Devils on Tuesday, and he's already made a big splash with his new team. The 34-year-old skated on the second line at even strength, though he was limited to a total of 11:53 of ice time. Palat's usage will be interesting to track, as he and Anders Lee figure to fill similar roles moving forward. For the season, Palat has five goals, seven assists, 55 shots on net, 91 hits, 42 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating over 52 appearances.

  • Islanders' Simon Holmstrom: Racks up three points

Holmstrom scored a goal on two shots and added two power-play assists in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Holmstrom had a big game after missing Monday's contest versus the Flyers due to an illness. Prior to this three-point effort, he had been limited to one helper over a six-game span. Holmstrom is up to 13 goals, 14 helpers, three power-play points, 58 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and a plus-6 rating over 51 appearances.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Little work in win

Rittich stopped 14 of 16 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Rangers.

Rittich didn't have to face much pressure since the Rangers sat Artemi Panarin (not injury related), taking a major weapon out of the lineup. Rittich has faced fewer than 30 shots in each of his last seven outings, though he's a mere 3-3-1 in that span, with this being just the third time in those games he's allowed two goals or fewer. For the season, he's at a 12-7-3 record with a 2.54 GAA and a .901 save percentage over 22 starts. Ilya Sorokin will probably get the nod for Thursday's rematch with the Rangers at Madison Square Garden.

  • Travis Konecny RW | PHI

Flyers' Travis Konecny: Questionable for Thursday

Konecny (foot) is questionable to play versus the Bruins on Thursday, Jackie Spiegel of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Konecny blocked a shot off his foot during Wednesday's game versus the Blue Jackets, but he was able to finish the contest. He scored three goals and logged 21:30 of ice time, but it's possible the injury will get worse overnight. Given that he finished Wednesday's game, the concern level shouldn't be too high, but fantasy managers will want to check Konecny's status ahead of Thursday -- he may end up a game-time decision since it's the second half of a back-to-back.

  • Flyers' Rasmus Ristolainen: Sustains lower-body injury

Ristolainen (lower body) won't return to Wednesday's game versus the Blue Jackets.

Ristolainen was playing in just his second game following a stint on injured reserve due to an upper-body injury. While this new issue is different, it's possible the 31-year-old will end up missing more time. His status for Thursday's game in Boston is uncertain.

  • Ryan Pulock D | NYI

Islanders' Ryan Pulock: Expected to play Wednesday

Pulock (upper body) is expected to be in the lineup versus the Rangers on Wednesday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.

Pulock was considered a game-time decision, but he skated alongside Matthew Schaefer during warmups. Pulock should also be expected to play on the penalty kill and could see some power-play time. Adam Boqvist will yield a spot in the lineup to make room for Pulock.

  • Maple Leafs' Chris Tanev: Lands on LTIR

Tanev (groin) was placed on long-term injured reserve Wednesday, per PuckPedia.

Tanev remains out indefinitely. He has already missed the requisite time for LTIR, so he can be activated whenever he's ready, but that is not imminent.

  • Maple Leafs' Dakota Joshua: Shifts to LTIR

Joshua (kidney) was transferred to long-term injured reserve Wednesday, per PuckPedia.

Joshua still isn't expected to be back before the Olympic break. This procedural move will create more cap flexibility for the Maple Leafs. Joshua can be activated whenever he's ready.

  • Rangers' Artemi Panarin: Being held out Wednesday

Panarin (not injury related) won't play Wednesday versus the Islanders for roster-management reasons, Mollie Walker of the New York Post reports.

Panarin is also not expected to play before the Olympic break. In reality, this likely spells the end of Panarin's time as a Ranger, as the team has already committed to not having him beyond this season. A potential trade destination is unclear, but a new contract extension could be part of the star forward signing off on any move, Chris Johnston of The Athletic reports. Panarin has 19 goals and 57 points over 52 appearances this season. Fantasy managers will need to pivot to a secondary plan until a resolution to Panarin's situation arrives.
