Ducks' Chris Kreider: Pots goal in loss

Kreider scored a goal on three shots and doled out six hits in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 3.

Kreider got his first goal of the second round with a tally in the third period. He's earned two goals, five assists, 12 shots on net, 27 hits and a plus-2 rating over nine appearances this postseason. Kreider continues to play in a top-line role, so he's likely to have plenty of opportunities to chip in on offense as the Ducks try to overcome a 2-1 deficit in the series against Vegas.

  • Ville Husso G | ANA

Ducks' Ville Husso: Draws in for relief outing

Husso stopped 17 of 19 shots in relief of Lukas Dostal in Friday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 3.

Husso played the final two periods and gave up the last two goals of Mitch Marner's hat trick. The Golden Knights also had an empty-netter in the third. Husso has stopped 27 of 30 shots over two relief appearances this postseason. After the game, head coach Joel Quenneville didn't commit to a starting goalie for Sunday's Game 4, Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports, so it's possible Husso will get a start. In any case, it appears Dostal is on a short leash, which could lead to a switch in the crease if Game 4 goes poorly for the Ducks.

  • Lukas Dostal G | ANA

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Pulled after one period

Dostal stopped five of eight shots in the first period of Friday's 6-2 loss to the Golden Knights in Game 3.

Dostal was replaced by Ville Husso at the start of the second period. This was the second time Dostal's been pulled from a contest this postseason -- he also got the hook in Game 5 of the first round against the Oilers. Head coach Joel Quenneville was noncommittal about his goalie choice for Sunday's Game 4 in his postgame comments, per Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune, so it is questionable if Dostal will get a chance to bounce back from this outing.

  • Golden Knights' William Karlsson: Picks up helper Friday

Karlsson logged an assist, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Friday's 6-2 win over the Ducks in Game 3.

Karlsson has played in all three games in the second round against the Ducks. He saw 19:20 of ice time Friday, which is especially notable considering the game was a blowout that would have been a good time to afford him some rest. The center missed 74 consecutive games due to a lower-body injury, but Friday's performance suggests he's as healthy as he can be for the rest of the postseason. Karlsson is likely to continue playing in a middle-six role.

  • Golden Knights' Brayden McNabb: Nets shorthanded tally

McNabb scored a shorthanded goal, added two hits, blocked three shots and went plus-3 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Ducks in Game 3.

McNabb had gone a month without a goal, picking up three assists, 24 hits, 26 blocked shots and a plus-5 rating over 12 games in that span. In the postseason, the defenseman has three points, 14 shots, 22 hits, 20 blocks and a plus-5 rating across nine outings. McNabb continues to fill a key shutdown role for the Golden Knights, which earns him top-four minutes on a regular basis.

  • Golden Knights' Brett Howden: One of each in win

Howden scored an empty-net goal, dished an assist, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Ducks in Game 3.

Howden helped out on the second goal of Mitch Marner's hat trick midway through the second period before adding an empty-netter of his own in the third. After a quiet start to the postseason, Howden has thrived with top-six responsibilities lately. He's up to six goals, two helpers, 16 shots on net, 25 hits, four PIM and a plus-3 rating over nine playoff contests.

  • Golden Knights' Shea Theodore: Two-point effort in win

Theodore scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked four shots and went plus-3 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Ducks in Game 3.

Theodore scored just 1:06 into the game, setting the tone for the Golden Knights' strong first period. This was his second multi-point effort over nine playoff contests. The defenseman is up to three goals, four assists, 19 shots on net, 27 blocks and a plus-2 rating this postseason while filling a top-four role.

  • Golden Knights' Mitch Marner: Takes over playoff point lead

Marner scored three goals on five shots, added a shorthanded assist and went plus-4 in Friday's 6-2 win over the Ducks in Game 3.

Marner had a natural hat trick over 18:01 of game time from late in the first period to late in the second. His first goal was on the power play. With the massive effort, Marner is up to six goals, seven assists, 25 shots on net and a plus-8 rating over nine playoff contests. His 13 points lead the NHL this postseason, and he's also tied for first in goals with four other players, including teammate Brett Howden.

  • Carter Hart G | LV

Golden Knights' Carter Hart: Bounces back in Game 3

Hart stopped 32 of 34 shots in Friday's 6-2 win over the Ducks in Game 3.

Hart didn't let his loss in Game 2 weigh him down, bouncing back with a win to put the Golden Knights ahead 2-1 in the series. The 27-year-old has allowed two or fewer goals in four straight games after starting the postseason at a shakier level of play. There's virtually no doubt Hart will be between the pipes again for Game 4 on Sunday.

  • Mark Stone RW | LV

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Doesn't finish Game 3

Stone (undisclosed) was unable to return to Game 3 versus the Ducks on Friday, and head coach John Tortorella had no update on his status after the contest, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Stone was injured in the first period. He came back onto the ice to test things out but ultimately didn't take another shift. Tortorella tends not to be forthcoming with injury updates, and given that this is the postseason, it'll be tough to get a clear picture of the nature or severity of Stone's injury. His status for Sunday's Game 4 hasn't been determined.
