  • Kris Letang D | PIT

Penguins' Kris Letang: Two helpers in Monday's rout

Letang produced two assists in Monday's 8-3 romp over the Islanders.

The 38-year-old blueliner had a hand in tallies by Anthony Mantha in the second period and Bryan Rust in the third. The performance snapped a brutal drought for Letang -- he'd managed just one assist in his last 14 games, and his last multi-point effort came back on Nov. 28. On the season, Letang has scraped together three goals and 30 points in 68 contests, and while he looks to be approaching the end of the road on his NHL career, he still has two years and $12.2 million left on his contract.

  • Bryan Rust RW | PIT

Penguins' Bryan Rust: Two-point effort against Isles

Rust scored an even-strength goal and added a shorthanded assist in Monday's 8-3 rout of the Islanders.

After helping to set up Rickard Rakell for a second-period tally, Rust wrapped up the scoring late in the third after David Rittich had replaced Ilya Sorokin in the Isles' crease. Rust is roaring into April, getting onto the scoresheet in 10 of the last 11 games while racking up six goals and 15 points. Monday's performance put the veteran winger over the 60-point mark for the second straight season.

  • Penguins' Rickard Rakell: Lights lamp twice in win

Rakell scored two goals, one shorthanded, in Monday's 8-3 win over the Islanders.

The veteran center potted the Penguins' second and seventh goals of the night, with the latter chasing Ilya Sorokin from the game. Rakell has been outstanding in March, getting onto the scoresheet in 12 of the last 13 games while collecting eight goals and 17 points over that stretch. He needs one more tally to produce his seventh career 20-goal campaign.

  • Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Two points in Monday's return

Crosby pocketed two assists in Monday's 8-3 romp over the Islanders.

Back in the lineup after sitting out Saturday's loss to the Stars due to a nagging lower-body injury, the future Hall of Famer helped set up tallies by Ryan Shea in the second period and Bryan Rust in the third. Crosby has produced one goal and seven points in six appearances since making his initial return from the injury he picked up during the Olympics, and on the season, he's churned out 28 goals and 66 points in 62 contests.

  • Anthony Mantha RW | PIT

Penguins' Anthony Mantha: Three points including GWG

Mantha scored two goals, one the game-winner, and added an assist in Monday's 8-3 win over the Islanders.

The veteran winger was in on three straight tallies for Pittsburgh to close out a wild second period that saw the two teams combine for eight goals. It was Mantha's second two-goal performance in March, and over the last 12 games, he's collected eight goals and 12 points as he wraps up a career-best campaign. He's one goal short of reaching 30 for the first time, and three points away from his first 60-point season.

  • Justin Brazeau RW | PIT

Penguins' Justin Brazeau: Three helpers in Monday's rout

Brazeau picked up three assists in Monday's 8-3 rout of the Islanders.

The 28-year-old winger had a hand in two Anthony Mantha tallies late in the second period, one of which proved to be the game-winner, as well as a Rickard Rakell goal in the third. The performance snapped a seven-game point drought for Brazeau since he'd returned in mid-March from an upper-body injury, and on the season, he's produced 16 goals and 33 points in 56 contests.

  • Penguins' Arturs Silovs: Carries to win by offense

Silovs made 20 saves in Monday's 8-3 win over the Islanders.

The 25-year-old netminder gave up all three of his goals on just eight shots in the second period, but the Penguins struck five times in that frame alone. Silovs has allowed fewer than three goals only once in his last seven starts, managing a 4-3-0 record over that stretch despite a rough 3.91 GAA and .844 save percentage.

  • Canadiens' Alexandre Carrier: Suffers upper-body injury

Carrier will be sidelined 2-4 weeks after sustaining an upper-body injury, the Habs announced Tuesday.

Even if Carrier is on the short end of his recovery timeline, he figures to miss the rest of the regular season. With the blueliner on the shelf, Lane Hutson could see a significant uptick in ice time while Adam Engstrom steps into the lineup. Assuming this is the end of Carrier's regular season, he'll end the year having generated a career-high seven goals to go with 15 assists.

  • Ducks' Cutter Gauthier: Injured against Toronto

Gauthier will not return to Monday's home contest against the Maple Leafs due to an upper-body injury, per Eric Stephens of The Athletic.

Stephens noted that Gauthier was cross-checked in the first period, which forced the winger out of the game. The 22-year-old notched his team-leading 38th goal of the season prior to exiting. That marker came on the power play at 9:46 of the first period. The Ducks' next game is Wednesday in San Jose, so fantasy managers will want to keep tabs on Gauthier's status in the coming days.

  • Cale Makar D | COL

Avalanche's Cale Makar: Sustains upper-body injury Monday

Makar has been ruled out for the remainder of Monday's game versus Calgary due to an upper-body injury.

Makar's last shift came late in the second period, and he wasn't on the bench to start the third. The superstar blueliner racked up three helpers, including two on the power play, and a plus-1 rating in 17:15 of ice time prior to exiting the contest. Until the Avalanche provide more information on Makar's status going forward, the 27-year-old can be considered day-to-day ahead of Wednesday's home game against the Canucks.
