Ilya Solovyov D | PIT
Penguins' Ilya Solovyov: Inks one-year extension
Solovyov signed a one-year, $850,000 contract extension with Pittsburgh on Thursday.
After Solovyov was acquired by the Penguins in a trade with Colorado, he logged 14 regular-season games for the club in which he notched five assists, 16 hits and 14 blocks while averaging 14:06 of ice time. It's a low-risk deal for the Penguins, one that figures to primarily bolster their defensive depth, with Solovoyv unlikely to be a regular on the blue line for the club this upcoming season.

Connor Dewar C | PIT
Penguins' Connor Dewar: Secures two-year extension
Dewar agreed to terms on a two-year, $4.5 million contract extension with Pittsburgh on Thursday.
Dewar -- who was set to be an unrestricted free agent this offseason -- is coming off a career year in which he set new personal bests in goals (14), assists (16) and shots (110) in 78 regular-season contests. While the offensive production was no doubt a bonus for the club, he was also its top penalty killer in 2025-26, logging a team-high 209:23 of shorthanded ice time.

Owen Tippett RW | PHI
Flyers' Owen Tippett: Officially ruled out
Tippett (undisclosed) will not be in the lineup for Game 3 versus the Hurricanes on Thursday, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Tippett will be sidelined for his third straight game due to his lingering undisclosed injury. In his six postseason outings, all against the Penguins, the 27-year-old winger produced one goal on nine shots, one assist, and 29 hits, highlighting the physicality he brings to the lineup. With Tippett on the shelf, both Tyson Foerster and Alex Bump figure to serve in top-six roles.

Christian Dvorak C | PHI
Flyers' Christian Dvorak: Set to play in Game 3
Dvorak (undisclosed) is available for Thursday's Game 3 against the Hurricanes, Cory Lavalette of the North State Journal reports.
Dvorak was considered day-to-day ahead of Thursday's Game 3 due to an undisclosed injury, but the issue apparently isn't significant enough to hold him out as the Flyers attempt to win their first game of the second round. Across his first eight postseason appearances this year, Dvorak has recorded no goals, three assists, 16 hits, five blocked shots and two PIM while averaging 18:42 of ice time.

Ryan McLeod C | BUF
Sabres' Ryan McLeod: Big night on power play in Game 1
McLeod produced a goal and an assist Wednesday, both on the power play, during the Sabres' 4-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 1 of their second-round series.
The 26-year-old center gave Buffalo a 2-0 lead midway through the first period before setting up Bowen Byram for the Sabres' final tally midway through the second. It was McLeod's first multi-point performance of the playoffs after he managed only one assist in the first round against the Bruins, and it was also his first game all season with multiple points on the power play.

Zach Benson LW | BUF
Sabres' Zach Benson: Two helpers against Habs
Benson notched two assists Wednesday, one on the power play, during the Sabres' 4-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 1 of their second-round series.
Both helpers came in the first period as Buffalo grabbed a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Benson has delivered back-to-back multi-point performances, and after being held off the scoresheet in the first three games of the Sabres' playoff run, the 20-year-old winger has caught fire with two goals and five points in the last four contests. Wednesday's assist was also his first power-play point since Dec. 18.

Josh Doan RW | BUF
Sabres' Josh Doan: Two points in Wednesday's win
Doan produced an even-strength goal and a power-play assist Wednesday in the Sabres' 4-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 1 of their second-round series.
Both points came in the first period as Buffalo jumped out to a lead it wouldn't relinquish. Doan was held off the scoresheet through the Sabres' first three playoff contests, but since then the 24-year-old winger has broken out with two goals and five points over the last four games. Wednesday's helper was also his first power-play point since March 8.
-
Alex Lyon G | BUF
Sabres' Alex Lyon: Sharp in Game 1 win
Lyon stopped 26 shots Wednesday in the Sabres' 4-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 1 of their second-round series.
Buffalo never trailed in the contest, as Lyon allowed goals late in the first and second periods after his team had already struck twice in each frame. The veteran netminder has won four of five starts since taking over in the crease for Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen, posting an eye-popping 1.36 GAA and .947 save percentage over that stretch heading into Game 2 on Friday.
-
Jakub Dobes G | MON
Canadiens' Jakub Dobes: Rattled by Sabres in Game 1
Dobes made 12 saves Wednesday in the Canadiens' 4-2 loss to the Sabres in Game 1 of their second-round series.
While his final numbers look shaky, two of Buffalo's goals came on power plays, while a third came after Lane Hutson blew a tire at center ice to create an odd-man rush. It's the first time this postseason that Dobes has allowed more than three goals in a start, and he'll likely take a 2.28 GAA and .910 save percentage into Game 2 on Friday.

Mark Stone RW | LV
Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Breaks up shutout bid
Stone scored a power-play goal and added four hits in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Ducks in Game 2.
Stone's tally was too late to make a difference, but it kept the Golden Knights from getting shut out. He's up to three goals, three assists, 18 shots on net, 11 hits and a minus-2 rating over eight playoff outings. The 33-year-old winger hasn't taken over on offense very much, but he'll continue to see important minutes in a top-six role.
