  • Sam Bennett C | FLA

Panthers' Sam Bennett: Scores twice in loss

Bennett scored two goals on four shots in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.

Bennett put the Panthers up 2-0 with a power-play tally in the first period, and he added another goal at even strength to temporarily restore their lead in the middle frame. He has three goals and two assists over three games since NHL action resumed, compared to just two helpers over seven contests heading into the Olympics, in which Bennett picked up a silver medal for Canada. The 29-year-old has 22 goals, 47 points, 156 shots on net, 105 hits, 72 PIM and a minus-11 rating through 60 appearances. He's got some work to do, but a 30-goal, 60-point campaign isn't out of the question -- both of those marks would be career highs.

  • Panthers' Sergei Bobrovsky: Gives up five goals in loss

Bobrovsky allowed five goals on 26 shots in Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Islanders.

Bobrovsky let leads of 2-0 and 3-2 slip away, and he couldn't keep the game tied at 4-4 late in the third period. Anders Lee scored with 32 seconds left in regulation to decide the contest. Bobrovsky has had a few more downs than ups this season as the Panthers have failed to look like defending champions amid some significant injury attrition. The netminder is now at a 22-18-1 record with a 3.13 GAA and an .872 save percentage over 42 appearances. The Panthers' road trip continues versus the Devils on Tuesday.

  • Islanders' Tony DeAngelo: Provides pair of assists

DeAngelo notched two assists and a minus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

DeAngelo helped out on goals by Carson Soucy and Anders Lee, with the latter's tally being the game-winner. With four assists over three games since the Olympic break, DeAngelo is rolling. He's still in a top-four role and on the second power-play unit, so there's some value to be had from his offense in certain fantasy formats. The 30-year-old has 28 points (four on the power play), 117 shots on net, 54 blocked shots, 35 PIM and a minus-1 rating over 61 outings this season.

  • Carson Soucy D | NYI

Islanders' Carson Soucy: Pots goal in win

Soucy scored a goal and blocked three shots in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

Soucy snapped a six-game point drought with the tally. The 31-year-old defenseman has slotted into a third-pairing role for the Islanders since he was dealt from the Rangers in late January. He's at five goals, 10 points, 46 shots on net, 84 hits, 72 blocked shots, 22 PIM and a plus-4 rating over 55 appearances between the two teams this season.

  • Anders Lee LW | NYI

Islanders' Anders Lee: Nets game-winner Sunday

Lee scored a goal in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

The Panthers scored with 1:58 left in the third period to tie the game at 4-4, but Lee made sure the Islanders got the job done in regulation, scoring with 32 seconds left. He has scored in three straight games following the Olympic break after being limited to a goal and five assists over the previous 20 contests. The 35-year-old clearly benefited from the rest, and he's up to 14 goals, 34 points, 146 shots on net, 57 hits and a plus-9 rating over 61 appearances this season.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Reaches 25-goal mark

Horvat scored a goal on three shots and blocked two shots in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

Horvat was held off the scoresheet Saturday in Columbus, but he bounced back with his fourth goal and seventh point in the last five games. The 30-year-old center reached the 25-goal mark with this tally, a level he's now reached in five straight campaigns. He's at 42 points, 152 shots on net, 40 hits, 29 blocked shots, 36 PIM and a plus-10 rating over 47 appearances.

  • Islanders' Matthew Schaefer: First career three-point game

Schaefer scored twice on five shots, added an assist, blocked four shots, went plus-4 and logged two PIM in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

This was the first three-point game of Schaefer's career, and he also reached the 20-goal mark with the effort. Hitting 20 goals as a defenseman is already an impressive feat, and it's even more remarkable that he was able to do so as an 18-year-old rookie. He's now at 44 points, 146 shots, 84 blocks, 30 PIM and a plus-14 rating over 61 appearances. Schaefer's already a borderline No. 1 defenseman in standard fantasy formats, and he's only getting started.

  • Islanders' David Rittich: Holds on for win

Rittich stopped 29 of 33 shots in Sunday's 5-4 win over the Panthers.

Rittich picked up just his third win over seven appearances since the start of January. The 33-year-old hasn't gotten a chance at much playing time when Ilya Sorokin is healthy, and that's unlikely to change. Rittich improved to 13-8-3 with a 2.63 GAA and an .899 save percentage over 24 starts this season. He probably won't have to wait long for his next appearance -- the Islanders' road trip out west begins with a back-to-back as they visit the Ducks on Wednesday and the Kings on Thursday.

  • Wild's Kirill Kaprizov: Strikes on power play again

Kaprizov scored a power-play goal on five shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Blues.

Kaprizov opened the scoring at 16:09 of the second period, though the Blues answered less than two minutes later. This was Kaprizov's second straight game with a power-play goal. He's earned six goals and four assists during a seven-game point steak, with six of those points coming with the man advantage. Kaprizov is up to 34 goals, 74 points (28 on the power play), 215 shots and a plus-8 rating over 61 appearances.

  • Wild's Filip Gustavsson: Takes close loss

Gustavsson stopped 21 of 23 shots in Sunday's 3-1 loss to the Blues. The third goal was an empty-netter.

Gustavsson couldn't keep the game tied late in the third period, with Pavel Buchnevich scoring the winner with 3:39 to go. This performance ended Gustavsson's four-game winning streak, though it was still a decent effort. He's now at a 21-10-6 record with a 2.58 GAA and a .909 save percentage over 38 appearances. The Wild have alternated goalies at times but weren't doing so in January, so it remains to be seen if Gustavsson will claim a majority of the starts over Jesper Wallstedt as the team looks to solidify its place in the standings.
