  • Mark Stone RW | LV

Golden Knights' Mark Stone: Three-point burst in win

Stone scored a goal, added two assists and blocked three shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Kings.

Stone had gone six games without a goal before scoring at 11:49 of the first period. He was involved in the Golden Knights' first three tallies, but Stone's goal was the game-winner. The 33-year-old winger has been superb so far this season with 21 goals, 60 points (22 on the power play), 92 shots on net, 34 blocked shots and a plus-18 rating over 41 appearances. He'll look to keep things rolling for Team Canada at the Olympics, though Stone's defensive skills could keep him in a limited role during the tournament.

  • Adin Hill G | LV

Golden Knights' Adin Hill: Steps up in win

Hill stopped 32 of 33 shots in Thursday's 4-1 win over the Kings.

Hill ended his three-game skid with one of his best performances of the season. All the scoring happened in the first period, and Hill made sure the Kings didn't gain any momentum from Trevor Moore's goal. Hill is up to 4-3-3 with a 3.27 GAA and an .870 save percentage over 12 starts this season. He alternated starts with Akira Schmid leading up to the Olympic break, and if Schmid returns healthy after the tournament, it's likely Vegas will continue with a goalie rotation.

  • Bowen Byram D | BUF

Sabres' Bowen Byram: Notches helper in loss

Byram recorded an assist and two blocked shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.

Byram has earned three assists and eight blocked shots over the last five contests. He had a rough middle portion of January after carrying a lot of momentum around the holiday break and into the new year. The 24-year-old defenseman is at 28 points (10 goals, 18 helpers), 71 shots on net, 70 blocked shots, 31 hits, 30 PIM and a plus-9 rating over 57 appearances. That pace gives him a chance to reach the 40-point mark for the first time in his career.

  • Jason Zucker LW | BUF

Sabres' Jason Zucker: Opens scoring in loss

Zucker scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.

Zucker has five goals over his last eight games. The 34-year-old winger scored just 1:46 into this contest, but the Sabres couldn't really build off his quick strike. The winger is up to 15 goals, 29 points, 80 shots on net, 38 hits and a minus-9 rating through 38 appearances this season. Zucker's a reliable scoring winger in a middle-six role with power-play time, which makes him a strong depth option in fantasy.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Reaches 30-goal mark

Thompson scored a power-play goal on seven shots and went minus-3 in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins.

Thompson has racked up 10 goals and 12 assists over 18 contests since the start of January. That's a lot of momentum he'll be carrying over to Italy, where he'll suit up for Team USA in the Olympics. He's reached the 30-goal mark in four of the last five NHL campaigns, and he's at 59 points (17 on the power play), 204 shots on net, 54 hits and a minus-8 rating through 57 appearances for the Sabres this season.

  • Alex Lyon G | BUF

Sabres' Alex Lyon: Stumbles versus Penguins

Lyon allowed four goals on 31 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to the Penguins. The fifth goal was an empty-netter.

Lyon took just his second loss in six games since he returned from a lower-body injury. This wasn't a pretty one -- it was the first time he allowed more than three goals since Nov. 28 versus the Devils. Lyon is down to 14-8-3 with a 2.72 GAA and a .913 save percentage over 27 appearances. Lyon has often been the Sabres' best goalie this season, and he should handle the bulk of the starts until Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (lower body) can return.

  • Tommy Novak C | PIT

Penguins' Thomas Novak: Puts away goal

Novak scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Novak has two goals and an assist over three games in February. The 28-year-old center stretched the Penguins' lead to 4-2 in the third period to fend off any comeback effort for the Sabres. Novak is up to 11 goals, 31 points, 85 shots on net, 22 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 56 appearances this season. He should continue to offer decent upside on offense in a second-line role.

  • Avery Hayes RW | PIT

Penguins' Avery Hayes: Shows off in NHL debut

Hayes scored twice on six shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Hayes got into the lineup for Noel Acciari (illness), and that ended up working out fine for the Penguins. Hayes scored on his first NHL shot at 9:18 of the first period, and he tallied again before the end of the opening frame, giving the Penguins a lead that they never relinquished. The 23-year-old has earned 23 points over 31 contests for AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, and he'll likely head back to the farm team in the coming days to continue playing during the NHL's Olympic break. That said, this likely isn't the last we've seen of Hayes at the NHL level.

  • Panthers' Mackie Samoskevich: Second goal in last 25 games

Samoskevich scored the Panthers' only goal Thursday in a 6-1 loss to the Lightning.

It was his second goal in the last 25 games played. Samoskevich has six goals, 15 assists and 122 shots in 55 games this season. More was expected from him after he put up 15 goals and 31 games in 72 games last year, but this may simply be a prototypical sophomore slump, and Samoskevich's outburst will come next season.

  • Penguins' Ben Kindel: Tallies twice in win

Kindel scored two goals in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Sabres.

Kindel's unassisted tally in the second period stood as the game-winner, and he added a shorthanded empty-netter in the third. The latter goal was his first career shorthanded point. The 18-year-old center is up to 14 goals, 27 points, 109 shots on net, 44 blocked shots, 21 hits and a minus-3 rating through 53 appearances. He's surged into the Olympic break with six goals and an assist over his last six outings.
