  • Ryan Lomberg LW | CGY

Flames' Ryan Lomberg: Deposits game-winner Wednesday

Lomberg scored a goal, added two PIM and doled out four hits in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers.

Lomberg ended a 15-game goal drought in the third period, and his tally stood as the game-winner. During the slump, he earned just three assists, and none of them had come in the previous five contests. The 31-year-old forward is up to four goals, eight points, 48 shots on net, 117 hits, 59 PIM and an even plus-minus rating through 50 appearances in a fourth-line role.

  • Connor Zary C | CGY

Flames' Connor Zary: Pots goal in win

Zary scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers.

Zary tipped in a Zach Whitecloud shot at 11:43 of the second period. This ended a 10-game goal drought for Zary, who racked up five assists and 21 shots in that span. The 24-year-old is now at nine goals, 21 points, 81 shots on net, 33 hits and a minus-6 rating through 54 appearances. He had 27 points in the same number of games a year ago, so the step back on offense is a bit discouraging, though the Flames' scoring numbers as a whole are poor.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Nets power-play goal

Huberdeau scored a power-play goal on three shots and added two hits in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers.

Huberdeau opened the scoring at 3:12 of the first period. It's been another tough season for Huberdeau, but he's shown a little positivity lately with two goals and two assists over his last five outings. The 32-year-old winger is up to 10 goals, 25 points (seven on the power play), 83 shots on net and a minus-9 rating through 50 appearances this season.

  • Devin Cooley G | CGY

Flames' Devin Cooley: Claims win in first BoA appearance

Cooley stopped 36 of 39 shots in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Oilers.

Cooley made his first Battle of Alberta appearance and protected a 4-3 lead that Ryan Lomberg's goal created at 6:44 of the third period. The 28-year-old Cooley has gone 3-2-1 over his last six outings, allowing just 12 goals in that span. For the season, he's up to 7-6-3 with a 2.27 GAA and a .921 save percentage over 19 appearances. Cooley is still the backup to Dustin Wolf, but the duo has found some success alternating starts in recent weeks. It remains to be seen if that pattern will continue after the Olympic break.

  • Justin Faulk D | DET

Blues' Justin Faulk: Picks up pair of assists

Faulk logged two assists, two shots on goal and a plus-2 rating in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.

Faulk has eight helpers over his last eight games. The veteran defenseman is up to a total of 30 points (11 goals, 19 helpers), 110 shots on net, 97 blocked shots, 44 hits and a minus-3 rating through 57 appearances. He's been the Blues' most reliable defenseman this season and is two points away from matching his total from 78 regular-season outings in 2024-25.

  • Blues' Alexei Toropchenko: Buries goal in loss

Toropchenko scored a goal on three shots in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.

Toropchenko ended a 12-game point drought with the third-period tally, which tied the contest at 4-4. The 26-year-old forward has remained a regular on the fourth line despite his slump. He's up to three goals, seven points, 42 shots on net, 89 hits, 39 blocked shots and a minus-10 rating through 41 appearances. While he's on pace for his worst full campaign, the Blues decided to keep him around with a two-year contract extension that he signed in January.

  • Blues' Pavel Buchnevich: Strikes on power play

Buchnevich scored a power-play goal on three shots in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.

Buchnevich picked up the pace recently with four goals and five assists over his last seven games. Five of those nine points have come on the power play. The 30-year-old forward is up to 12 goals, 34 points (13 on the power play), 107 shots on net and a minus-15 rating across 57 outings, primarily in a top-six role.

  • Blues' Jimmy Snuggerud: Earns two points in loss

Snuggerud scored a goal, added an assist and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.

Snuggerud picked up both points in the third period to help the Blues tie the game at 4-4 before Jamie Benn delivered a heartbreaker in the final minute. This performance extended Snuggerud's point streak to six games (three goals, six assists). The 21-year-old winger is looking more comfortable in a top-line role. He's now at 10 goals, 24 points, 95 shots on net, 49 hits, 28 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating over 45 appearances this season.

  • Jordan Kyrou C | STL

Blues' Jordan Kyrou: Pair of points Wednesday

Kyrou scored a goal on four shots and added a power-play assist in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.

This was Kyrou's fourth multi-point effort in the last six games. In that span, he's earned four goals and six assists. The 27-year-old winger is up to a total of 13 goals, 32 points (11 on the power play), 123 shots on net and a minus-7 rating through 47 appearances. He's had better years, but it looks like he's turning things around, and he should continue to see steady top-six minutes.

  • Blues' Jordan Binnington: Skid continues in tough loss

Binnington stopped 23 of 28 shots in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the Stars.

Binnington nearly got this game to overtime, but Jamie Benn tallied with 23 seconds left in the third period to break the Blues' hearts. This was Binnington's seventh straight regulation loss, and he's allowed at least four goals in five of those defeats. The Team Canada goalie has an 8-17-6 record with a 3.65 GAA and an .864 save percentage over 32 appearances this season. It's unclear if he'll get much playing time at the Olympics, but if he does, he should benefit from having a much stronger team in front of him. That could be the spark Binnington needs to get his NHL season back on track after the break.
