The New York Mets are interested in acquiring veteran catcher Ramon Hernandez from the Colorado Rockies, reports ESPN's Adam Rubin.

- Hernandez, in his first season with the Rockies, is on a rehab assignment, working his way back from a hand injury. In 27 games this season, he's batting .215/.260/.398.
- The Rockies have shown interest in New York's Justin Turner in the past, who has a.681 OPS in 95 at-bats this season.
- Mets prospects who could be going Colorado's way: shortstop Wilfredo Tovar, hitting .306/.358.408 in Double-A; Class A right-handed pitcher Domingo Tapia, who has 48 strikeouts in 54.2 innings; center fielder Matt Den Dekker in Triple-A; and pitcher Josh Edgin in Triple-A.
