The Baltimore Orioles have placed starting pitcher Randy Wolf on the 60-day disabled list with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his pitching elbow.
Wolf has appeared in just five games for the Orioles, making two starts (going 0-2) and allowing nine earned runs in 15 1/3 innings.
The 36-year-old lefthander spent most of this season with the Milwaukee Brewers, going 3-10 in 25 appearances (24 starts) with a 5.69 ERA and 1.57 WHIP.
The Brewers released Wolf on Aug. 22. He was signed by the Orioles nine days later and is a free agent this winter, though a potential need for surgery on the elbow could dampen market interest this offseason.
Utilityman Bill Hall, who was promoted on Wednesday, will take Wolf's spot on the 40-man roster.
