The Rangers have reinstated right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa from the 15-day disabled list after his rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock.
Fellow righty Spencer Patton has been optioned to the same team to make room on the roster for Fujikawa.
The 34-year-old Fujikawa, who could make his Texas debut Thursday against Kansas City, performed well in relief during his assignment. He held opponents to a .194 batting average and gave up four runs in 9 1/3 innings. He did struggle with his control, walking nine.
Fujikawa signed a free agent contract with Texas in December after two years in the Cubs organization. Tommy John surgery sidelined him for 14 months.
